Jaxon stepped out of the goblin dungeon, the adrenaline still coursing through his veins. Surprisingly, he wasn’t tired at all; the traps had done all the work, leaving him with energy to spare. He could hardly believe how easy it had been. The goblins had been weak, and their leader was no match for his cunning. With a grin plastered on his face, he decided it was time for a new challenge.
He recalled hearing about a dungeon recommended for levels 10 to 15, rumored to be filled with much tougher enemies—Orcs. As he made his way to the new location, his excitement grew. This time, he would really test his skills.
Arriving at the entrance of the Orc dungeon, Jaxon noticed a burly guard standing by a shimmering portal, arms crossed and a stern expression etched on his face. As Jaxon approached, the guard eyed him skeptically.
“Hey! You’re only level 5. You can’t enter,” the guard declared, blocking the way.
“I can handle my own,” Jaxon replied confidently, brushing off the warning.
“What’s your profession?” the guard asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Trap God,” Jaxon said proudly, a smile creeping onto his face.
The guard laughed, shaking his head. “You absolutely cannot enter. These Orcs can cast detection spells that will expose your traps.”
Jaxon rolled his eyes, feeling a surge of impatience. “It’s fine. Just stop talking and let me through.” Without waiting for a response, he pushed past the guard and stepped through the portal.
As he emerged on the other side, the atmosphere shifted dramatically. The terrain was terrifying—a dark, foreboding forest with twisted trees that seemed to reach out with skeletal branches. The ground was littered with bones and remnants of past adventurers who had failed to survive the onslaught of the Orcs. A heavy fog hung in the air, swirling ominously around his feet, and distant growls echoed through the gloom. Jaxon felt a thrill of excitement as he scanned his surroundings.
He moved cautiously through the forest, laying traps as he went. Bear Trap was his go-to skill, and he expertly positioned several around the clearing, hiding them beneath the underbrush. He knew these Orcs wouldn’t be easy prey, but he was ready.
As if summoned by his thoughts, a group of Orcs emerged from the shadows, their hulking figures clad in mismatched armor, weapons at the ready. Their guttural roars echoed through the trees, sending a chill down Jaxon’s spine. He quickly activated his Bear Trap skill, triggering one of his hidden traps just as the first Orc charged forward.

With a snap, the trap closed around the Orc’s leg, immobilizing it and causing it to howl in pain. Jaxon seized the moment, using his Bear Trap skill again and again, sending traps snapping shut on each unsuspecting Orc. The cunning placement of his traps allowed him to take down one Orc after another without ever stepping into the fray himself.
Before long, he had leveled up to Level 10, a grin stretching across his face as he felt the rush of experience wash over him. He knew that every ten levels, a profession would unlock a new skill, and he could hardly wait to see what his would be.
New Skill Unlocked: Landmines
Explosive devices buried underground that detonate when stepped on or driven over.
Just as he finished reviewing his new skill, he spotted the Orc Boss looming in the distance. This creature was massive, standing nearly twice the height of the other Orcs, its dark armor gleaming menacingly in the half-light. Jaxon’s heart raced with anticipation. This was the moment he had been waiting for.
With a sly grin, he quickly laid down several Landmines around the boss’s path, burying them just out of sight. The Orc Boss stomped closer, its beady eyes scanning the area, but it had no idea what awaited it.
As the beast stepped onto a landmine, the explosion rocked the ground, sending shards of earth flying. The boss roared in fury, but Jaxon wasn’t done yet. He activated more Bear Traps as the creature staggered back, ensnaring its legs and leaving it vulnerable. One final explosion sent the Orc Boss crashing to the ground, defeated.
With this victory, Jaxon leveled up to Level 13, his excitement bubbling over. He could hardly believe how quickly he was rising through the ranks. In a single day, he had gone from a level 5 Trap God to level 13. Only those from wealthy families had a leveling speed like his, and they often relied on higher-level hunters to carry them through dungeons. But Jaxon was doing this all on his own.
His eyes sparkled with glee. The ease of leveling up filled him with a sense of purpose. He didn’t even have to break a sweat; his traps did all the work while he watched from a safe distance, relishing the chaos he created.
Fueled by his success, Jaxon made up his mind he would run the dungeon again, aiming to reach level 20. Not only would he unlock another new skill, but he would also be able to sign up for the Virtual Battle Arena, where he could fight against other players for money, gear, and resources.
In the Arena, players could hide their identities and engage in one-on-one battles in front of a live audience or in private matches. The thought thrilled him, but he also understood the risks. He didn’t want to be discovered too soon. If word got out about his rising power and potential to be a Top ranker , people from other nations would come after him to have him join them or kill him directly to keep the power balance.
As he delved deeper into the dungeon, Jaxon recalled the seven nations. His home Blue Dusk, it was the weakest nation m, with only two S-rank hunters. The strongest nation, Red Dragon Nation, boasted eight S-rank hunters, and people often said those born there were lucky.
But luck would not decide his fate. Jaxon was determined to become a prodigy, to carve out his own destiny. The thrill of the hunt pulsed through his veins as he plotted his next move, ready to claim his place among the elite. The path ahead was dangerous, but for Jaxon, it was filled with promise
