"It's time to eat, old man."

The man said as he push a plate with three slices of bread and a glass of water into the cell. The old man suddenly got up and starts to crawl slowly towards the man. He then took a slice of bread and eat it carefully as if it was his most precious treasure. The man leaned against the wall behind him while watching the old man eat the bread.

"Eat slowly." The man said.

After sipping a bit from the glass, the old man carefully put both plate and glass behind. He sits behind the jail cell right infront of the man.

"Hey..would you mind..listening to my story?" With a little difficulty, the old man started to speak.

"..Sure.."

The man replied. Probably because he was locked here for a week, he wanted someone to talk to.

The old man coughed before he continue, "My name is Kennedy Rowal. A noble knight from Church of Alexandre." The old man introduces himself.

"I know." The man said.

"Right..It would be weird for the royalty to send someone without knowledge here." The old man sighed. "Then you should know why I was locked here, don't you?" The man nodded. "Do you also think I'm a crazy murderer for all of the people from House of Baron Dreg Titto?"

"..."

"..I just..wanted peace.." The old man clenched his fists. "Those two..No, all of the nobles including the royalties aren't human. They only think of their own lives, their wealth, their reputation!"

Stolen story; please report.

Tears started to roll down from his face. "What did..my wife, my parents, my hometown ever do to them?! Why did they massacre the innocents?! My loved ones?!"

"I was able to control my wrath to ask them for a reason. But did you know what they told me? They said it was because the Baron's fucking son of a bitch was kicked by a villager's horse! What the fuck was that?! That was no reason to massacre the whole village, right?!"

"..." The man kept silence.

The old man wipes his tears and continues, "I barely could contain my wrath. I left the Baron's house and hurriedly went to the Royal's Castle. With my connections, I could have an audience with the king. I told him about the bastard's evil deeds and asks for a punishment to be given. But instead of that bastard, the king ordered my imprisonment because of false accuse on the nobles."

"I felt betrayed. By the king whom I admired since I was a child. I feel like everything was a dream and thought I would wake up in my hometown next to my loving wife. However, the world doesn't work that way. I was brought back to reality when the royal guards starts to surround me. Out of desperation, I killed a few royal guards and managed to escape from the castle. Not long after, the king issues a warning of an extremely dangerous traitor lurking within the Royal City. Since then, I could only walk in the alleys to avoid meeting with the guards."

"Two weeks. For two weeks I planned on how to avenge my hometown. I kept a close view on the Baron's house to think of ways to intrude the house. The sixth day after the plan, I finally enter the house unnoticed. I made sure to get in when its time for the guards to change shift. Silently, I went into all the rooms and killed all the people with Titto in their names. I collected the head of his wife and child and went inside the library he's always in."

"I felt angry. Even angrier than when he destroyed my hometown and killed my family. I saw in his eyes that he wasn't even a bit sad when he saw the heads of his wife and child. He was only scared of me. He even tried to negotiate to help me escape from Royal City in exchange of sparing him. I couldn't control myself. Dreg Titto, is an absolutely a scum of a human and shouldn't exist! With the sword given to me by the church, I killed the scum of a human."

"..."

"..."

Silence was left after Kennedy Rowal stopped talking.

"I need to go now."

The man rose and left the place after blowing the torch out.

...

The next day, the man came again. He lights the torch and sit infront of the jail cell. The old man was already sitting cross legged behind the cell.

"Nervous?" The man asked.

"No. After what I've done, I have no regrets." The old man replied with his eyes shut.

The sound of bottle cap being opened sounded out in the silent underground. Out of curiousity, the old man opens his eyes. The man is pouring liquor into two glasses.

"You only have thirty minutes left. Since you haven't done it yet, why don't we celebrate to your good deeds?" The man smiled as he put a glass inside the cell.

"Heh..Hahaha.." The old man laughed loudly. After a few seconds, he went quiet. "Thank you." Tears once again rolls down his face as they drink quietly.
