Inside the maze, a man could be seen running at full speed chasing two people in front of him a man and a woman, swiftly approaching his targets he propels himself forward with his left leg and grabs one of them by the back of the neck.
“ARGH,” the man screams out feeling the cold hand upon the back of his neck, “Please man we don't even have any points you get nothing from killing us.” the man pleaded wearing a dreadful expression.
Unfortunately for him, though, the man did not respond. Instead, he increased his grip, causing a loud cracking sound to be heard. The woman who had not stopped running since her teammate was captured ran even faster upon hearing the noise. “T-that man is not human,” she said aloud to herself while shivering.
“Weaklings,” the man said before tossing the lifeless body in his hand to the side with a thud before continuing his pursuit of the woman.
While all of this was happening, Damien and Ela were navigating through the maze in search of monsters. They had been running for a while and had defeated three common monsters and one rare monster. The commons were worth 50 points each, while the rare was worth 150, giving them a total of 300 points so far.
“Can we find a legendary or epic monster already? This event has been way too boring,” Damien said, annoyance evident in his voice. The commons and rare they had encountered were far too easy to defeat, and with nothing more challenging showing up, he was starting to lose interest.
“Damien, the event just started,” Ela replied, rolling her eyes. “The real challenge comes from the legendary monsters and other users in the maze.”
“True, but that doesn’t mean this isn’t boring at the moment,” he stated. Just as he was about to continue, Ela signaled for him to stop talking.
She turned her head toward the path ahead and pointed, indicating that there were people up ahead. Understanding her gesture, Damien quickly sank into the shadows while Ela transformed into her spirit form.
As they made their way down the pathway, it didn’t take long for them to see the group Ela had sensed. It was a team of three—two men and a woman. The first thing Damien noticed was the blue glow outlining each of them.
The two men of the group had similar looks making Damien think they were related in some way, they both had some type of horns on their heads that curled upwards while also having the same color of hair and eyes being blood red. The two men were wearing pitch-black robes with some type of design on the back resembling a demon of sorts.
As for the woman she also had the same horns but was not of the same status as the two men, instead of red hair and eyes hers were both a light purple while her robes were a lot more simple-looking white color with no design on them.
“Asda,” one of the men said aloud without turning his head. “Yes, My lord?” the woman responded while lowering her head at the man's back.
“Has your ability managed to locate anything nearby? Since you ended up in the event with us at least make yourself useful,” he stated with a slight sneer on his face.”
Hearing his question Asda quickly used her “ability” and a pulse came from within her body that shot out in every direction. “There are several entities nearby of varying strengths, the strongest is towards our east about 30 feet.” she promptly answered without lifting her head.
As the man was about to ask his next question the shadow behind him seemed almost alive as it wriggled before a man popped out from within shoving his sword at he man's back.

Sensing imminent danger the man quickly dodged barely avoiding a fatal blow but still getting grazed on the side causing blood to leak down, before anyone could react another person appeared behind the other man attacking in the same way stabbing the man in the shoulder as he also managed to avoid a fatal blow.
“Tsk, you guys have good instincts.” the second attacker said.
Seeing that their surprise attacks had mostly failed Damien flickered over to Ela’s side before adopting a fighting stance.
Finally getting their bearings the two men coldly looked at their attackers before one of them spoke, “You are going to regret not killing us with those attacks of yours, Zain I’ll take the man you can take the woman she appears to be your type anyhow.” he said with a mocking tone.
"Noah, please stop portraying me as some sort of beast. I would never engage in such things with a lowly human," Noah responded his expression filled with disgust at the thought.
Having heard enough of their conversation, Damien dashed toward Zain and activated "Lightning Fast." Arcs of lightning began to bounce around his body before he vanished. Alarmed by his opponent's speed, Zain felt a surge of concern wash over him.
Reappearing behind Zain, Damien prepared to attack but suddenly had a bad feeling. He quickly jumped backward just as red flames erupted from the spot where he had been standing moments before. ‘That would have hurt,’ he thought to himself, his expression serious.
Noah dodged to the left, narrowly avoiding yet another blow from the woman in front of him. He had been struggling, as she kept vanishing from his senses and reappearing when he least expected it, giving him little time to react. To make matters worse, she had summoned an annoying spirit that kept attacking him simultaneously.
“ENOUGH!” he shouted, summoning a burst of black fire that shot out in every direction, melting everything in its path—including the spirit, which disappeared as the flames engulfed it.
Seeing the flames Ela made a mental note not to get hit by those, coming out of her spirit form beside Damien she spoke. “We should either end this quickly or leave other wise this fight is not worth it and we will get behind in points.”
Hearing what she said Damien nodded in understanding, while he would love to continue this fight at this point it was just a waste of time and the only way to end it quickly would be to go into his shade form and if he ended up taking to long to finish them he would be weakened causing a whole bunch of other issues.
Looking over at Zain and Noah he spoke, “Let's finish this fight another time k?”
“You think we are just going to let you go after you sneak atta-” Before Noah could finish Damien and Ela both vanished from their sight.
“....MOTHERFUCKER!” Zain yelled while kicking the wall to his side.
“Asda can you sense them?” Noah asked not willing to give up. “No, my ability is not picking up on anything My lord.”
“Useless!” he yelled.
While Zain and Noah were still fuming in anger, Damien and Ela walked side by side. “That was pretty fun! I just wish we could have fought longer,” Damien said, feeling a bit sad that the battle was so short.
“We’ll get another chance. For now, we should focus on earning points, mainly by finding an epic monster to acquire a map. If we can defeat a legendary monster, it's almost a guaranteed win, and besides, it should also prove to be a challenge.”
Nodding in agreement, they continued to defeat every creature in their path. After about 20 minutes, they had accumulated 600 points. As they made their way through a new part of the maze, it didn’t take long until they encountered something that made them smile.
“8-Legged Thornvine level 30” (EPIC) was displayed above the monster's head in purple. “Finally! At the rate we were going, I was beginning to doubt we’d find anything above a rare,” Damien said, feeling relieved.
The monster looked strange; it resembled a vine with eight legs and a flytrap-like mouth. Calling it a plant felt odd at this point. “Alright, what’s the plan? Should I test the waters to see if this thing is strong, or do you want the honors?” he asked.
“I’ll take this one if you don’t mind,” Ela replied before swiftly entering her spirit form.
