Evanora couldn't believe her ears, the neckless that Kayne's mother had given her was an all powerful relic. Probably made by Kalliope Vandran herself. A white witch, that didn't have any other link with black magic, then her sister that was being killed during the Black and white war. Her hand went towards the obsidian beads, who were absolutely not cold to the touch. They were never cold, not even when she just got them. Ko za˥shto˥ better known as the spirit thread, was powerful, nobody needed to tell her that. It was the day before they needed to go back to school, and she was relaxing in her room, with a book that mister Helliot had given her. It was a book written by mortals, and it was quite good. She hadn't seen that Kayne that much after that time they slept together. Well, he was above the covers, and she was under it. But they slept in the same bed, so it counts. But he was gone before she woke up, and he was quiet during dinner. That was before he told her about the spirit thread. Which was not a small hex bomb, to drop on her, and this book was keeping her distracted. The only problem is that it was a romance, and the male character voice sounds a lot like Kayne's. But that was a problem, she created in her head. A knock landed on her door, she looked up and Kayne entered. As if he was summoned by her thoughts.
"Hey, is it a good book?" He asked. She has not seen him in days, outside their lessons and meals. And that was the first thing he was asking her? Well, she was reading, so the question was not far-fetched.
"It is a good one, Sebastian sounds a lot like you." She said, hoping that he had read it. He looked confused, maybe he didn't. It was well known that witches rather didn't read anything, then to pick up something that is written by a mortal. She only had hoped that Kayne was not one of those witches.
"Really, never seen it like that. But then again, maybe I do not pick up on my own flaws that easy." He said. She smiled, he had read it after all.
"Or maybe he sounds like you, because I was thinking of you." She said softly. He sat down on the side of her bed and sighed.
"Is this because of the distance and silence?" He asked, she nodded. "Sorry, about that. You know that you are the last person I want to hurt. Something I told my mother as well, only she didn't believe me. Not after she found me sleeping next to you." Evanora wanted to chuckle, but he stood up and pushed something under her noise. It were several boxes. "Speaking about my mother, she noticed that you were wearing a very old-fashioned uniform. So she ordered you a new one, and added these shoes." Evanora opened the box, and the skirt was shorter than her old one. The blouse missed a few buttons, leaving her neck open. Which also meant that everyone could see her various amulets. It looked a lot like the uniform Medea was wearing to school. She gave the open box back to Kayne and opened the shoebox. Revealing sneaker heels, she believed that was what they were called. They looked like sneakers, attached to a slide heel. "I know for sure that you will rock this outfit. As you look good in everything else you put on."
"You were the one who picked all those outfits." She said, he nodded.
"But you made them in a whole look." He said. "Outfit, is only one part of this." She nodded, it made a bit of sense. "Also, tomorrow we will be not taking that rusty old yellow school bus. Dad, has given me his old car." Her eyes grew. "It was a graduation gift, but he figured that we needed it now. So he gave it to me now."
"Which is very nice of him." She said. He nodded.
"I am also here to warn you, my grandparents are here." He said. She jumped up, what Madam, and Mister Le Rouge were here? Now? "And they want to see you." Hex. That was not something she suspected to hear. Nobody in her life wanted to see her, unless she was in trouble. Which, according to her grandmother, she always was. She looked at her clothes, she was still wearing her pyjama's.
"I need to change." She said, jumping from the bed. Throwing the cabinet doors open, quickly grabbing the red dress, some underwear. In her frantic source for something representable, she had forgotten that he was still in her room. But when she turned around to face him, he was no longer there. She was able to see the door close, to know that he had left the room. So that she could change in peace. She changed her clothes, brushed her hair and tight it back in a ponytail. She placed her amulets on top of the dress, she was proud of them and wanted to show them off. When she opened the door, where she was met by his back.
"You see, you make the look work." He said. He offered her his arm and guided her, not that she needed his guidance. After a week, she had found her way inside the house. But it was nice of him to not let her walk alone, towards the strangers.

Evanora was not sure why she was this afraid in the beginning. His grandparents, would have adored her even if she had come down in her pyjama's. At least if she believed his grandmother. The first thing they did was gasping and remarking how much she looked like her mother. Kayne's father then complimented her amulets, saying that he could feel the magic from the other side of the room. Mister Helliot gave her a cup of tea, and that was that. She was glad that she was able to meet such nice people, which was nice for a change.

"Are you looking out towards tomorrow, Evanora." Kayne's grandmother asked, during dinner. "I know you need to face that sister of yours once you are there. But..."
"Mother. Please let her eat her dinner in peace." Kayne's father cut her off.
"The answer to your question is yes, I am looking forward to going back to school. It will give them less reason to give me another pile of homework. But it is also no. I know that my sister is going to be there, and I do not doubt that my grandmother has informed her about the prophecy. I know my life before this week was bad, it will become an all out war. Once I set foot on school grounds. I am glad that I will not fight this war alone any more." Evanora said, and she looked at Kayne. "After dinner, I am going to combine all my amulets into one. To create a front, and thanks to Kayne and your daughter-in-law, I have now a look to match." All the Le Rouge's looked at her in shock.
"Why would you combine all your amulets?" Madam Le Rouge asked. "Is that not asking for trouble?" But Kayne snickered, he got why.
"Medea, knows that amulets are standing for protection and other spells. That lesson is given in the first class of which ever magic class." Kayne said. "How more amulets a black witch wears, how more protected they are. So if Evanora combines all the amulets in one, she will only wear one. In other words, less protection."
"I understand that, and you need a powerful crystal to do that. But then is there still the factor that it could backfire, and your sister will see you as an easy target." Madam Le Rouge said.
"That is the point. My sister will see me as an easy target, so she will leave me alone for a while. I know my sister well and I know how she works. She will try to use one or two spells, but that is it. She will try to put me down verbally first, attack me with a spell later." She said. "And as for the crystal, I have done some resource and discovered that onyx or obsidian are the best crystals to do that." His grandmother nodded slowly.
"Those crystals, will indeed do the trick." She said. "I will however recommand onyx for this. And I will help you as much as I can." Evanora knew that she needed all the help she could get for this spell. It was a difficult one, it is not for nothing that almost no black witch is trying to pull something like this. It is much easier to have a lot of amulets. Still, she knew that with the new blouse that all her amulets will be out there on display, and she has many powerful amulets, which makes her a target for her sister and her sister's friends.
"I am thanking you in advance, Madam Le Rouge." Evanora said.
"Call me grandma, please, sweetie." Madam Le Rouge replied. "You are part of the family now, and I know that your real family has left their scars. But I promise you that I am not standing for that kind of behaviour." The rest of the family echoed that sentiment.
"Please call me, grandpa."
"Please call me, Da."
"Please call me, Ma." His mother said. "I am not here to replace your mother, who loved you with all her heart. I know that for a fact. But I am here to give you the love and protection a mother should give to her child." Evanora started to tear up. Never before, in her life, has she felt this emotional. "And if you are indeed going to try to pull that kind of magic, I want to help as well." Again everyone, even Mister Helliot echoed that.
"I will inform the rest of the staff as well." Mister Helliot said.

All the members of the Le Rouge family, and staff, gathered in the greenhouse after dinner. The clean-up could wait. The ingredients were gathered in no time and that is when everybody formed the circle inside the witches circle. Slowly chanting, Evanora cut her hand for a view drops of her blood. It dripped on the onyx, the rest of her amulets except the Ko za˥shto˥ were inside the cauldron with the rest of the herbs.
"With my blood, I bind the spell. With the help of my ancestors, I bind the spell. With the magic of this household, I bind the spell." She chanted. She repeated this over and over, she took the onyx and dropped it in the cauldron. "With my blood, I bind the spell. With the help of my ancestors, I bind the spell. With the magic of this household, I bind the spell. Amulets of protection, transfer your magic unto this crystal. Amulets of spells, transfer your magic unto this crystal." Her head was starting to hurt a little. The spell was taking a toll on her, good, that was a good sign. "With my blood, I bind the spell. With the help of my ancestors, I bind the spell. With the magic of this household, I bind the spell. Amulets of protection, transfer your magic unto this crystal. Amulets of spells, transfer your magic unto this crystal." A green flame, burst out of the cauldron. Lighting up the whole greenhouse and all the witches that were gathered there. "With my blood, I bind the spell. With the help of my ancestors, I bind the spell. With the magic of this household, I bind the spell." The flame disseapered and the only thing left in the cauldron was the onyx. None of the other ingredients, none of the other amulets. "It worked." She took carefully the onyx out, it was warm. But it didn't burn a whole in her hand. "Thank you all so much." The others clapped, and cheered. The members of the Le Rouge family walked up to her.
"Are my eyes deciving me?" Grandma asked. "Two of the beads nof her neckless just light up." Evanora's hand shot up.
"Mom, she is wearing Ko za˥shto˥. And I think she has reached another anscestor." Da said. Grandma nodded slowly and smiled.
"A new amulet and a new anscestor. You are a lucky girl." She said.
