Marrissa loved walking in the park. It calmed her, made all her stress go away. She liked nothing better than to be alone with her thoughts. Right then she was thinking about if she should get a cup of coffee. However these thoughts were interrupted by her best friend Aredesa.

       "Marrissa!", She called waving her hand to get her attention, "Marrissa wait up!".

       Marrissa stopped and let her friend catch up. Aredesa had her hair in a braid, the golden strands coming loose from the do.

       "Hi." She said just as her disheveled friend reached her.

      "Marrissa, where were you?" She said breathlessly, "You were supposed to meet me at Mocha Michelle's an hour ago!"

      "OH NO!" Marrissa hit her head with the palm of her hand, " I'm soo sorry I totally forgot!" She was supposed to meet her there for a biology project meeting.

       "It is okay. We can work on it later I suppose," said Aredesa, "Anyway guess what? A guy asked for my number at the coffee shop. And he was rather cute!"

      "That's nice. What did you give it to him?" Replied Marrissa. Suddenly there was a flash of light, just out of the corner of her eye, toward a grove of trees. She whipped her head towards it as Aredesa gave her a play by play of what happened with the guy. She swore.......was that a...?

     Never mind, She thought, Its just my imagination running away with me, even at 16. Suddenly a hand was waving in front of her face.

      "Marrissa? What are you staring at?", Asked Aredesa, concern plain in her voice.

        Sliver steel sliced through the air and connected with the scales of its target, decapitating it. The blades owner shook the green slime that passed for the creatures blood off in disgust. The beast had been following him since he got off the subway and had followed him here to the park. He had managed to lure it into the trees to kill it. 

      "Nice.That must be a new one." 

      The boy turned to see his best friend, Mark, standing a few feet away. 

      "Yeah",said Jonathon. The creature was a grosteque combination, having the body of a beatle and the head of a snake. "When did you get here?"

" Oh. Just in time to see the last few minutes ." Mark replied.

     He shook his head."What do you wanna name it?", He asked, nudging it with his toe, "Beatlesnake?"

       "Fine with me.", Replied Mark,"Come on lets get back to base Jonathon. We have work to do."

     "Ok." said the boy, Jonathon. And then they both took off running. Jonathon loved running. It made him feel free of this accursed place that they called Eutopialis. They being the Peacemakers.

        Running this place like it was a little Utopia, they were blinding people into thinking it really was perfect. Jonathon and the people that he was apart of  were the only ones who had noticed what was wrong with it. The Peacemakers were changing everything. It all started when the program SAFETY 54 came to town, and all over the world. They had these chips that were implanted into you, and it stopped all crime around the world. How? By targeting a part of your brain that controls decision making.

      But there was a problem. A big one.  And the people who realized what was happening, took it upon themselves to stop it. Therefore the Resistance was born.

       "Are you coming?" Mark asked, pulling Jonathon back out of his head. They had reached the Base.

      "Yeah." Jonathon replied, sighing , and they went inside.
