Aurora, however, dismissed the idea and led Mia and Nia to her office to discuss the situation. As they entered the room, Mia and Nia noticed some students looking at them curiously.

Next, it was Nia's turn. As she approached the book, it glowed and flipped its pages. However, something went wrong as blue electric lines formed around Nia but couldn't enter her body. The lines faded to a grey color and retreated back into the book. Aurora called upon Cassandra, a psychic in all purple, to investigate the rejection. Cassandra touched Nia and discovered an abyssal curse inside her. Devastated, Cassandra informed Nia that she couldn't have elemental powers due to the curse. Mia went over to comfort her sister, both of them in disbelief.

Cassandra asked if she missed anything as she entered the room, and Aurora filled her in. Aurora reassured Nia that there were other ways to have powers and that they would figure it out together. She also mentioned that Amaya would show them to their rooms. Eventually, Amaya led Mia and Nia to their magical room with black and gold accents. Nia asked Amaya to leave, still processing the news, while Mia continued to comfort her, assuring her that she didn't need powers to be special and that she would always be her sister.

The next day, Aurora woke Mia up for her training. She informed Nia that Cassandra would be training her in combat until they could find the best way for her to acquire powers. Nia, looking exhausted, followed Cassandra.
