Kraynnor reflected for a brief moment, carefully weighing the advantages and disadvantages...
In the end, he decided not to spin the wheel again.
Despite the small probability of getting a superior option, there was a considerably higher risk of ending up with a class that didn't match his innate talent at all.
The situation would have been different if Kraynnor knew what his innate talent was, although he suspected it was related to his intelligence.
"I'll stick with the Novice Mechanic class," he said without hesitation.
[Selecting Novice Mechanic as the main class!]
[As a welcome gift, you will be given the option to choose an item related to your main class. Please choose carefully.]
Kraynnor watched as suddenly ten articles appeared, each very different from the other, forming a ring around him. His gaze settled on one with a peculiar shape, resembling black sand forming a sphere, and instantly, an information panel appeared.
[Basic Healing Nanobots (One star): Microscopic medical robots that heal wounds. A product of Type Two civilization, Xyralithios.]
"Type two civilization? I remember seeing something about that in college... If I recall correctly, it was something Nikolai Kardashev created to classify civilizations based on their technology and energy harnessing capabilities," Kraynnor muttered to himself.
He knew a type two civilization was capable of fully harnessing the energy of a star by building a Dyson sphere around it.
Though he found it fascinating to realize that the theory of that man who lived eight centuries ago was real, he didn't get lost in his thoughts and continued examining the rest of the objects. There was a jetpack created by a type one civilization, an advanced space suit from the same civilization, night vision goggles from a type zero civilization, and several other items that were undoubtedly interesting.
Among the ten available technological items, eight seemed acceptable to him, but in comparison to the other two, they were like simple coals next to a valuable diamond.
The two items that truly stood out were the Basic Healing Nanobots and a Biomass Energy Saber.
[Biomass Energy Saber (One star): A weapon that uses liquid biomass energy to create a sharp and versatile energy blade. A product of Type Two civilization, Glythorin.]
Kraynnor recognized that the nanobots were a valuable choice, but with his new highly regenerative body, they became redundant. So, reluctantly, he discarded this intriguing piece of technology and opted for the biomass energy saber. While he still didn't dare to confront the invaders, at least it would serve him well to defend against their pets, which he hoped would be less powerful than their owners due to the lack of advanced technology that had likely seen thousands of years of advancements.
"I choose the Biomass Energy Saber," declared Kraynnor decisively, making his choice in just a couple of minutes.
[Biomass Energy Saber selected, will be delivered in five seconds.]
When he heard this response, the objects disappeared, and in front of him, space began to twist until a rift formed from which a black hilt with green patterns emerged.
[Reward for the unprecedented achievement in the universe and novice class package delivered. Initiating Universal System interface...]
[Ding!]
[Please pronounce your username. Be advised that once declared, it cannot be modified again.]
"A username? Hmm..." Kraynnor stroked his chin in a thoughtful gesture. Suddenly, a name popped into his mind: "How about 'Alien Hunter'?"
[Bzzt!]
[Username already selected.]
For a moment, he was baffled by the rejection of that username...
This led him to reflect on how many people had access to this Universal System. After all, "Alien Hunter" was a rather specific name, and only those with a deep hatred for non-native creatures of their worlds would choose such a name.
Kraynnor proposed several additional names, but all were rejected. Remembering his class, he decided to try the suggestion: "How about 'God Mechanic'?"
[Ding!]
[Username accepted!]
"...What?" He couldn't believe such a peculiar username was accepted. It seemed strange that no one else had chosen it, although perhaps it was because self-identifying as a "God" seemed a bit pretentious.
But he didn't care in the slightest!
He stopped rambling in senseless thoughts and focused on the system interface, as a new message had now appeared.
Stolen content alert: this content belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences.
[Welcome to the Universal System interface!]
[Any questions the user God Mechanic has will be answered, as long as they pertain to the interface. For questions on other topics, a minimum level of ten is required.]
Sigh...
After the system said that, it fell silent. Kraynnor sighed with relief; this so-called Universal System talked too much!
"I need clothing," Kraynnor said, and in that instant, Cognitron X-12 deployed a robotic arm from the ceiling, holding a set of attire. The clothing consisted of a white lab coat, snug black pants, white underwear, and sturdy-looking black boots with a touch of sophistication.
Once he finished dressing, his eyes landed on the hilt on the floor, and without hesitation, he picked it up.
With the hilt firmly in his hand, he examined it, and suddenly a sharp blade of vibrant green emerged. He performed some test movements and, once satisfied with his skill, deactivated the blade.
After that, he looked at the system interface with curiosity.

[Alert! Enormous alien entity detected ten kilometers from the underwater laboratory.
[Detection devices have suffered severe deterioration, and we do not have available materials for their repair. Although this threat has appeared on multiple occasions in the last hundred years, the anti-detection systems were in better condition in the past. Now, the damage due to deterioration is significant, and there is a 40% chance that the laboratory will be discovered.]
"...?"
Kraynnor was immersed in his concentration, trying to assimilate all the information appearing on the panel. However, his attention was abruptly captured by an alert from Cognitron X-12.
"An alien has been lurking in my laboratory? How dare they! I'll familiarize myself with the system another time," he closed the panel and headed to another room.
In the center of the room was a large table with a large holographic screen just inches away. Multiple mini-screens were projected onto the main screen, though most, if not all of them, remained black. The only exception was a couple of screens showing the exterior of the laboratory.
Kraynnor inquired of Cognitron X-12, "You've mentioned that bastard has appeared on multiple occasions, right? Do you have any idea why it keeps showing up around here?"
[I've analyzed the surroundings of the laboratory, but I haven't found anything that explains its unusual behavior.]
He furrowed his brow upon hearing this and continued, "Can you show me that alien creature?"
[The creature is currently in an area without camera coverage, but I've saved a short video of how it looks.]
On one of the mini-screens, a monstrous and terrifying marine creature appeared, whose size made whales seem insignificant in comparison. Its dark scales reflected a sinister gleam as it majestically glided through the abyssal depths.
It had a colossal head crowned with long rows of sharp, red teeth.
Its eyes were four cold, lifeless spheres deeply set in its face. Its fins, huge and membranous, extended outward like wings, and its tail stretched until it disappeared into the ocean's darkness.
Kraynnor observed the creature with unwavering seriousness; nothing about its appearance was familiar, and his memory clung to every detail of those traumatic days.
Days that represented humanity's nightmare and extinction...
Five hundred years ago, on a sunny morning of November 6, 2303, happiness filled his being.
After eighty years of tireless effort, Kraynnor had achieved an unparalleled milestone: he had developed SomaVitae, an injectable liquid with the power to double a human's lifespan!
He achieved this breakthrough by combining nanobots with artificial intelligence and special molecules that repaired DNA, stimulating telomerase production and promoting cell regeneration. This slowed down aging and prevented age-related diseases.
It had literally been a lifelong effort!
Understanding his past was crucial to comprehending his great happiness.
He was born in Caelum, a prosperous city and an icon of technological innovation, floating in the middle of the vast Pacific Ocean. In other words, it was a completely artificial metropolis, half the size of New York.
From his early days of life, his parents, respected scientists, instilled in him a deep love for science and an insatiable thirst for knowledge.
However, a tragic fate made him witness, from a young age, how his parents' lives faded away due to a mysterious illness that relentlessly drained the vitality of its victims, accelerating their aging process.
This tragic episode propelled him into an unrelenting quest for immortality, not only for his own benefit but also for the sake of all humanity.
His love and devotion to his species became his driving force!
Despite the mockery and skepticism he faced for "wasting" his exceptional intelligence, a rarity that only emerged once every thousand years, Kraynnor didn't give up. He completed his education with the firm purpose of absorbing all possible knowledge. Then, with the inheritance his parents left him, he founded a biotechnology company that revolutionized the fields of medicine and genetic engineering.
His innovations brought him immense wealth, but he chose to remain anonymous as the owner.
The reason behind this was to prevent dangerous individuals from taking advantage of him, allowing him to solely focus on continuing his research into extending human life.
He even went to the crazy extreme of creating a laboratory a thousand meters below the surface of the Pacific Ocean!
Using archived research from an ancient scientist from Caelum, he developed an advanced quantum interference generator that deployed a subtle yet effective energy field.
This energy field interfered with the electromagnetic signals and perception systems of the surrounding creatures, preventing them from detecting the laboratory.
Of course, it worked just as effectively against detection technologies.
Kraynnor was so obsessed with seeking immortality that he spent years creating all sorts of technologies for his ultimate purpose!
After dedicating almost his entire life, Kraynnor was excited to share his creation with humanity...
He remembered it vividly: how he left his laboratory and arrived in Caelum with confidence, the mocking looks of the people no longer affecting him. Everything seemed bright that day until, on the screens throughout the city, he saw a scene he would never forget.
Huge spaceships darkened the skies in every corner of the world.
Humanity, paralyzed by the magnitude of the event, watched in silence as their eyes rose to the sky. But what happened next was a sudden and terrifying awakening.
Destruction was unleashed indiscriminately, without apparent reason!
Kraynnor, along with the rest of the world, witnessed entire countries, with populations of hundreds of millions of human beings, vanish in a matter of minutes...
