Jeffery continued making ground as he dug his shovel- making sure to follow Jennifer's instructions on the hole size and how to pack the dirt.
This went on for another thirty or so minutes- after which Jennifer actually instructed everyone.
"Alright guys, good work" ( but in swahili ) .
And Jeffery watched as she guided people to take a break for the day.
This was the first time he'd seen the village as a community of people working together and not simply as an outsider. He could see the joy in their forms - despite the rigorous labor they'd been doing over the past couple hours.

Jeffery looked at his own section - proud of what he'd done, but comparing it against the others - it wasnt actually that much work.

However - noone seemed to judge him for it - instead they seemed more willing than usual toi talk with him.
he smiled as a couple children came up to him.
He let them pull him back up despite being tired -and joined in their game. They were doing something similar to tag- so he chased them.
He noticed Jennifer's gaze as he looked in her direction, but she averted her eyes immediately afterwards.-
