Haaaaaaa......

10 billion years

That's how long I have been alive.

I have experienced enough of the universe to last plenty of lifetimes.

You might be thinking that I have tried everything, seen everything and just want it to end now but no.

I used to think like that before I turned 7 billion years old give or take but there is always something new to see. For example, there is a soul in front of me belonging to a.... monkey? That is a first.

Don't get me wrong I have seen souls before but not on that made it through Adra's prank and a monkey no less,

Really interesting thing to see. How in the Anne did this thing get here.

Oh well if it happened it happened, I'll just investigate. For now, I gotta give this thing some props. Adra's gonna get a kick out of this.

Soul(pov)

Goddammit.

Why, why did it have to be a fucking pop-up black hole. These things make no sense at all.

As the soul was trying to figure out the mechanics of a black hole popping up out of nowhere it noticed a light moving towards it. A man was walking on nothing towards it.

Like literally on nothing there were stars above him and below him, yet he moved like he was on a camouflaged platform.

As the soul decided to look around, it noticed that it was in space, with no notifications from his endo suit. It tried to move its hands, but they were not there either. It was literally a floating blob.

'Okay. I’m a blob in space...........aaaAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaAaaaaAaAàaaaAAaaaaaAaA AHHAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaàaàaaaàaaaa. As the man moved towards it in a slow fashion the souls started to move erratically as some puffs of luminous smoke got released from it.

'Did this guy just......puff?'

I thought only Pickerigns did that when they died. This is clearly one of those human soul and it's not disappearing, That's TWO new things!!! Yeah, today is a good day.

As the man got closer it became easier to make out a large smile on his face. He had white hair and vibrant red eyes. A light surrounded his body and illuminated the space around them.

As he got closer, he said "it’s okay my child, you're home." He spread his arms in a welcoming gesture as if to hug him.

The soul was stunned "I'm home?"

"Yes, welcome to the path to heaven." As the being said those words their environment began to change. The surroundings lit up as a path of gold was illuminated leading to a podium with a book on it with a giant golden gate behind it.

"My name is Paul and I'm here to welcome those that have passed from your world into the next step of your journey."

The soul seemed to vibrate as he watched the spectacle before him. 'Heaven is real' he thought.

"Come my child, let us walk together to the beginning of your new path." Paul began ushering the soul towards the path of gold.

As they moved down the path towards the podium the soul was a jumbled mess of emotions and thoughts.

He did not know why or how this was happening just that it was, and he would be a fool to not see what was behind those gates with his own eyes.

As they got to the podium Paul walked forward and stood in front of the soul.

"This here, is the book of truth. It shall reveal all there is to know about you and when we have seen where your heart truly lies, then and only then will we find your path. Now let's begin." As Paul began to open the book dread filled up the souls entire being.

He did not believe that God truly existed and had little knowledge of the requirements to walk through the giant gold gate. He was in the dark and in front of a book that would reveal his entire life to the being in front of him.

Paul looked up from the open book and stared at the soul, his gaze almost indifferent, feelings of dread began to intensify. "You know, you are the first soul I've met outside these gates."  Relief flooded the soul as well as a small feeling of annoyance. "You know you're glaring at me right now, is something wrong?" the soul asked. "Sorry about that, it's just procedure at this point so I have to make an impartial judgment on your character, so I have to get rid of my emotions for a while. I have nothing but the greatest hope for you." Paul said with a big smile on his face.

Paul turned back to the book and started flipping through its pages. Silence reigned in the space as only the sound of flipping pages echoed throughout. The feeling of dread started to trickle back into the soul as he watched Paul’s expressionless face. Suddenly the pages stopped turning and anxiety, hope, fear and whole mesh of other confusing emotions began to fill the souls being. Paul looked at the soul and said “Andrew, let’s have a talk.” Those words from a being that held his fate in its hands should have caused a panic attack for him but the only thing to come out of the souls’ mouth was,

 “Huh?”

“What?” Asked Paul.

“My name is Simon,” said the soul.

“The book shows the name Andrew”.

“Any chance you’re on the wrong page?”

“The book only shows me what I need to see.”

“Then can you explain why it shows you that my name is Andrew?”

“Of course.” Exclaimed Paul as he looked back at the book.

“It says here that your parents named you Andrew before giving you up for adoption, which is when your foster family named you Simon.” Paul read of the page.

“I’m not adopted” Simon said as the hodgepodge of emotions inside of him began to be overwhelmed by suspicion.

“Ah” Paul said seeming less confident.

“Is this some kind of weird joke? Where am I really?” Simon Asked as wariness and anger began to build.
