I shall Review my Work!

I shall Review my Work!

I might have skipped the part that now I operate in different timescales. Like now a week feels like a day. Why? There is so much stuff to do at any time. Now you might ask my imaginary audience, didn’t you evolve your helpers to deal with most stuff?

Well, yes, but as they keep climbing the civilization ladder and the faith grows their needs also grow. I goofed honestly thinking they would do anythin for me. In reality I needed to develop several plants and animals for domestication purposes and even then I could make one request each wave.

What is a wave? Well, imagine mana being an ocean that encompases an entire universe and is mostly static, by using spells and manipulating it you spend small amounts of it and create undercurrents in this body of magical energy.

Now as the amount of people able to cast spells increases the depression of mana in that place/planet becomes pretty big, but don’t fear the diffusion is here and natural processes like stars forming and dying that make mana.

So the ocean of magical energy won’t dry up but the depression stacks, if a planet is big enough and the amount of mages hits critical mass the diffusion can’t keep up with the demand so when the lack of mana hits the star (a natural mana generator) the star quickly makes a rough beam of mana aimed at the area that is empty.

Here is the problem: each wave occurs roughly after 3 months and during that time every animal, even dungeon helpers, get their libido increased and their reproduction abilities are greatly enhanced.

This is a serious problem, because now I have about half a million of dungeon helpers and normally each queen lays as many eggs as there is helpers from their species plus one so if there is a hundred Zodarii miners the queen will lay hundred and one eggs, they do that each month but when the wave hits the queen gets affected and would lay in this example at least 500 eggs. And this is only ONE queen, each species has at least 5 of them now.

Enough of my rambling, but still this sucks so much!

The time when I made a new species and a general overview of my territory was 3 waves ago. During that time I mainly micromanaged my helpers and helped with making a government system so they could function even without my direct commands. Here’s the simplified version of government:

This story originates from a different website. Ensure the author gets the support they deserve by reading it there.

3 Lords that work on different subjects hold the titles: Lord of Farming, Lord of War, Lord of Domestic Affairs.

Below them is 12 a council that manages the budget and oversees the progress in reverse engineering my world and anything the Lords do.

The council is made up of the best and talented individuals that come from any species, there isn’t any limit on how many of each species can be in the council. Aside from outstanding individuals one seat in council is occupied by the current highest ranking person from my religion.

Below the council is the Senate that houses the oldest members of each species and one most experienced individual and up to 4 representatives of the people.

The Senate collects taxes and passes laws, but the council or the Lords can at any time veto those laws into oblivion with exception of the laws that were recognized by me or survived at least 10 waves. Changing these requires at least one third of the population to say so.

Lords are picked from the most outstanding individuals in any of 3 fields.

This government functions only because of my existence. I intended to keep the council and the amount of Lords small so the real decisions will be made quickly without useless shouting. This is reserved to the senate that has milestones that could upgrade their capacity.

Those milestones are basically (Reach one million of dungeon helpers to increase the capacity for members by 10 and extra 5 for people representatives).

The currency we use are square small cubic coins that are made out of stone and mental interference ore. Why? Because, apparently it works like a line of cocaine. It's addicting to my helpers but they quickly develop immunity so they have a real need to earn those coins.

We didn’t add any value to those. They are just small cubes of rock with ore that will drug you up! It’s quite good imo since the value of the money won’t fluctuate too much as the super rich won’t be able to achieve super high that easily since the ore has a radius in which it works.

Now onto the expansion review:

1. We managed to create an outpost on the surface and began carpet bombing any life to oblivion to make space for dungeon life.

2. The outpost and every “House” (big structure that houses Zodarii races) are connected by a web of roads made out of polished stone with runic carvings made by mages that make the travel faster.

3. My territory now engulfs the surface and 3 other caverns that were dug up during the second wave, they mainly house the Government, Faith and Stockpiles.

4. My territory doesn’t expand as quickly on the surface as underground.

5. The research is comparable to the steam age of my old world. Mainly because the steam engine is quite easy to build (at least the ancient version is) and I ordered some toy like small ones that spin above campfires just to prove that this is possible and allow engineers to have an easier time making new machines.

6. My helpers don't seem to be affected by air pollution, nonetheless I ordered everyone to either make a portable air filter for each citizen or for everyone to wear a mask over their air holes.

7. My flora adapted to bad air pollution and now gives me less mana. So in response I spent my demand to make big habitats for plants with controlled air quality, in the next 5 waves.
