The sound of loud sirens and a vrooming engine quickly grew louder as Rikmon ran through dark streets and alleys. Coming up to one of the small alleys, he could hear a rubber wheel screech across the street behind him as blue & red lights began flashing behind him.
“Why are they chasing me..?”
“N-n-no-!!” he shouted under his breath through gritted teeth, internally pleading that the vehicle doesn't hit him. Luckily it doesn't, but just barely. He could feel a breeze from behind.
“Stop right there, demon!” A man with a deep, husk voice shouted from the now halted vehicle just stopped outside the alley.
Rik glanced back for a moment in confusion & curiosity to see the man shouting at him. All Rik could see was his silhouette save for what appeared to be a hat, some short hair, small round ears like his, and there was something shiny on his left chest.
He also appeared to be trying to open the door to the vehicle and grab something next to him. Rikmon heard a click, but just ignored the man and kept running, not looking back until he heard a short but very loud, resonating ‘BANG’ and something shot past his neck. The man shouted a strange word in frustration that Rik couldn’t make out.
This made Rikmon stumble a bit; almost stopping him in his tracks. His ears immediately began to hurt and vibrate vigorously, his head shaking and his eyes shut tight from the agony; making him tremble and cover his ears. He wondered if the figure shouted some word that triggered a curse on him, but the agony slowly dissipated.

The man tried to open the door of the vehicle, but it hit the wall of one of the buildings when only a few inches open. He said another strange word, but more under his breath this time and muffled by the sirens. “You can’t run for long, ya filthy prince!”
“What’s a prince? What did I do...?”
Rik ignored him and just kept running til he noticed a streetlight he could use to swing a hard right turn. When he attempted to do so, however, he was swept up as if suddenly light as a feather; holding onto the pole as tight as he could. When he let go, he was thrown to the right like a ragdoll, and sprawled along the concrete sidewalk on his front side.
His hooded jacket and jeans were scraped a little, but not even a scratch appeared on his skin. “That’s weird.. my skin reflex hasn’t grown in, I’m only five.. how did I get older?” He thought to himself as he scrambled to his feet to keep running.
Barely a minute after he started again, he darted through another alley. All of a sudden many blaring red, blue, & white lights all turned on around & above him as he came out. A rapid, low, but loud beating noise with a blaring light overhead was also heard
He tried to turn back the way he came, but there were a few soldiers coming up behind him, big guns pointed at him. He was surrounded.
“Are they gonna kill me?”
He struggled to look for a way out; an opening, a ladder up to the roofs of the buildings, a fence to jump up, anything, but there was none he could see in the midst of the blaring lights on him.
A distant yelp was then heard, but he couldn't make out what the word was. Snapping to its owner, he saw a figure in the air before one of the armed men shouted “NOW!!”
Rikmon was barely able to turn his attention quick enough to see a net shot to him, but he's not quick enough to react, and gets caught as he hears a faint “NO!! RIK!!!” before everything goes black, then white, and he wakes up to see a more than familiar face.
He's still at home... in his bed... and it's morning.
“Phew, it was just a bad dream...”
