Shrouding the Heavens practice method!
As the students stared at the words Ling Ran had written on the blackboard, the classroom fell into silence. To be honest, they were completely unprepared for Ye Kai's explanation. After all, in their understanding, the Practitioner system had long become an inseparable part of life. It was common sense—the only known method for cultivation. Now, Ye Kai was telling them that another cultivation method existed, one that was even more suitable for the human race. It sounded like a fantasy, completely violating their understanding of the world, leaving them momentarily stunned.
After a few seconds of silence, the students gradually recovered, and the buzz of discussion filled the room.
"No way! Is there really such a cultivation method?"
"Teacher must be joking! How could a brand-new cultivation method suddenly appear after all these years?"
"Maybe it's some new research project from Shanghai University? Perhaps the teacher is studying a new body-refining technique?"
"That seems unlikely. Why would the Federation abandon the well-established Practitioner system to invest in some untested method? It's a waste of resources."
"And the name 'Shrouding the Heavens'—it's way too arrogant, don't you think?"
The students' chatter reached Ye Kai's ears, but his expression remained unchanged, as though he had expected their reactions.
"Although both systems aim to develop the potential of the human body, the Shrouding the Heavens method differs significantly from the simple and crude approach of strengthening the blood in the Practitioner system. The first step in practicing Shrouding the Heavens is to open up the Sea of Bitterness!"
As Ye Kai’s voice rang out again, the students quieted down. Whether they understood it or not, they knew enough to show respect to a professor from Shanghai University.
One student raised his hand to ask a question. "Teacher, what is the Sea of Bitterness?"
Ye Kai turned to look at the student. The boy had a resolute face, short-cropped hair, and piercing eyes. His energetic appearance made a strong impression. With Ye Kai’s sharp gaze, he could tell that the student had a quasi-Practitioner’s potential.

"And what's your name?" Ye Kai asked with slight interest.
"My name is Luo Feng!" the student replied, his voice firm and confident.
The name startled Ye Kai for a moment, but he quickly recovered, taking a deep look at Luo Feng before answering the question.
"The Sea of Bitterness represents the suffering and troubles of the mortal world. It symbolizes the secular world and all its hardships. Mortals float and sink in this Sea of Bitterness their entire lives, never able to escape."
"To activate the Sea of Bitterness is like obtaining a boat—it offers the chance to sail through the sea or even leave it behind, ascending to a higher level."
Ye Kai paused, smiled mysteriously, and then posed a rhetorical question. "What does it mean to cultivate? Why do we cultivate?"
Without waiting for an answer, he continued. "With a boat, we need water to carry it. That water is your lifeline, the thread of life."
"So, the second realm is called the Fountain of Life!"
"In the dry Sea of Bitterness, we dig out a spring of life, connect it to the Wheel of Life, and let the fountain of life flow."
The students watched him with confused expressions as Ye Kai moved on.
"After that comes the third step, which is to build a bridge."
"A bridge for people to walk across?" one student asked, puzzled.
"No! It’s the Bridge of God!" Ye Kai exclaimed.
"The third realm is called the Shenqiao, or the Divine Bridge."
Knowing that the concepts might become harder for the students to grasp as they progressed, Ye Kai began speaking more quickly.
"Crossing the Shenqiao means that the spirit has been sublimated, and you’ve reached the other shore. You’ve successfully crossed the Sea of Bitterness."
"And finally, the fourth realm—The Other Shore!"
Having finished, Ye Kai looked around the classroom, waiting for their reactions.
"I… I don’t get it at all," one student muttered.
"To be honest, I'm totally lost too," another chimed in.
"This Shrouding the Heavens method is so complicated! It sounds like something from ancient Buddhist or Taoist philosophy. Who can understand it?"
"I agree. What's all this about Sea of Bitterness and Divine Bridges? The Practitioner system is so much simpler: Practitioner, Martial Master, Great Master, Grand Great Master… It’s straightforward!"
"And honestly, this doesn’t even sound like a cultivation method. It feels more like a mental discipline. If you actually practice it, your combat power might not even reach half that of a Practitioner."
Some of the more outspoken students voiced their opinions, but even the quieter ones shared the same thoughts, including Luo Feng, who had asked the question earlier. Though he remained silent, he lowered his head slightly, thinking the same as the others.
"Why does this Shrouding the Heavens method sound like something dreamt up by scholars who don’t have real strength? It’s based on Buddhist and Taoist theories—it seems too impractical!"
As he pondered this, a voice suddenly echoed in Luo Feng’s mind.
"Luo Feng, I am Barbara, an advanced intelligent life form from the universe. Let me tell you clearly: the so-called Shrouding the Heavens method is simply unreasonable!"
"Across all races in the universe, there is no such cultivation method!"
"Come with me to the spaceship and accept the inheritance of a true Universe Powerhouse. That is far more reliable than this Sea of Bitterness cultivation nonsense!"
