Neil is out of his home trying to figure out things that have happened a while ago. After destroying furniture in his room, he has decided that it will be better to go out. Neil remembers the golden light that shot out of his hand. Neil tries to do the same again. He points his palm at a tree and imagines a golden aura like before. For a while nothing happened. Neil tried even harder to concentrate. Soon he felt some kind of energy being formed inside him. He tried to flow that energy to his hand. Golden aura starts to form in his hand. Neil imagines it shooting out like before and golden aura shoots out of his hand and hits the tree.

*boooom*

It explodes at the tree leaves nothing behind but a small crater.

Neil has his eyes popped out at this scene. He was an excellent student. He studied almost everything he could about different races and their traits. But never before he has ever heard of golden light shooting out of people’s hand and blasting things. It’s not like this world lacked any supernatural phenomenons. There were things like magic but somethings like this didn’t exist. You can’t even classify it as magic because almost all of them are based on a particular element and needed a spell. Neil never heard of voiceless incantations or magic with some gold element.

“My body has changed. My eye has become normal. I can shoot golden light. What’s with all these things? Is that the answer I was looking for? Is this what I have suffered for?”

Of course, like yesterday, he has questions, hoping that someone would answer. It’s hard to be sane when you give up on everything one night and you don’t know yourself next morning. To Neil it felt like there is some weird god out there playing with him and enjoying Neil’s torment.

“Calm down..Losing my sanity can wait for later. First I have to find out what’s going on here.”

He talks to himself. He was trying to calm himself down. He had rather good amount of experience in talking to himself over the years of loneliness.

Neil starts with organizing things that happened since last night. He could only find losing his eye. That was it. It confirmed that whatever has happened relates to his left eye. He then recalled his punch earlier which broke the bathroom wall. He looks at the wall of his house. He punches it but this time the whole wall crashes down.

Neil takes a step back surprised by his own strength. No human can have this sort of strength.

He decides to test his new powers(?) on the unfortunate trees because there are so many of them. So he moves into the forest.

After coming to a place not too far away from his home, he tries to channel that energy again from inside him to his hand. He shoots it to the trees again blowing them up. He tries to do it with his other hand. He blows some more trees like this experimenting with his new powers.

Neil was one of those persons who could easily adapt themselves to the changes. After living a life like hell he has created this ability. It’s only when things go too far that he can’t control himself like yesterday.

He also does some kicks and punches to the trees. Like some superhuman, he destroyed the trees like they were made of cardboard.

‘hmmm..let’s try something little different.’

Neil then looked up at the sky, crouched down, puts strength into his legs and jumps. He jumped too high even crossed the height of those huge trees. Then he started falling. Neil starts to move his hands around in the air like an idiot. He looks at the ground and puts his hand forward trying to block his head.

Suddenly, the golden light shoots out of his open palm and hits the ground. The only difference was that the blast this time created a large hemisphere crater on the ground. That does nothing, and he still falls right on the hard ground.

‘’aaagghh...’’

Neil clutches his stomach and screams in pain. He then opens his eyes and looks around then at his own body.

‘I should have died by that impact..’

Neil thinking was correct. A human as weak as him could have died easily by that fall. Although, there was pain. But he only has some scratches and wounds here and there. Not even a broken bone.

Neil’s mind starts to fill with thoughts. He gets up and does some more experiments. After three hours of time passes, he makes some conclusions.

‘Let’s see. These powers come from inside me. I have to channel that energy through my body to use it. I can shoot it out to do any amount of damage I want.’

He also found out that if he shoots it without thinking much it would take seconds and will do any random amount of damage. But if he calculates the amount of damage, speed, time and accuracy it takes at least 15 seconds before he can use it. He also got this monstrous physical abilities. His strength, agility, vitality are just too high. It’s not like there aren’t any humans as strong physically as him. It’s just that they are really rare.

‘Are the changes in my body for this strength.’

Neil thought as he looked at his body slightly different from before. He gained a little height and some muscles. He also seems to gained control over his strength. So that he doesn’t break things around.

‘I don’t know about the physical strength but this golden energy seems like mana. Maybe I will find something in the library.’

Neil always liked going to library. To him, it is a vast source of information. He has spent a lot of time in library in his life. He never had any friends other than Keena. Well there was one more person who talked with him but she left the town when he was a kid. Anyway, Neil goes inside his home to prepare himself. He takes a bag with him and some money. As he was about to leave, he stopped after looking at the broken window glass. He goes back inside the house and shuffles through his stuff.

‘This should work..’

He takes out an eyepatch to cover his left eye.

‘It will be weird if everyone finds out about my eye.’

Almost everyone in the town knows his face. If they see his golden eye turned to the normal, it will be really suspicious. Although, his body has also changed, you don’t notice changes in someone until you meet them daily.

After going down the pathway leading to the town, he immediately heads towards library. Neil already has most of the knowledge about mana and magic. What he is interested in are rare and abnormal powers. He takes out some of the books that could help him, even the ones about myths and folktales.

He finds a quiet and calm place where nobody would disturb him and starts reading. Neil has a habit of immersing himself into books. He forgets about time and everything else around him. When he is reading something, the only thing concerns him are the words in that book.

The basic idea about mana and magic is the same in any book. Every person has a mana pool. The mana pool determines the capability of that person with magic. A magic can be performed using certain spells. You also need to learn control over your mana before you can use magic. Higher level magic costs higher amount of mana. Mana pool can be raised over time. It depends how much potential you have with mana. So whether you are good or bad with magic is determined at birth.

Neil also heard of the stories of people who forcefully increased their mana pool. But that required them hard work and lifelong dedication. Every magic uses a certain element like fire, water, air, earth etc. But there was no information about a gold type element or anything like that.

Neil did found out stories written about voiceless incantations. But those were just some stories. There was no truth behind them. In fact, there has never been the case when someone was found using voiceless incantations.

Neil has done his research about his golden eye before so there is no point in trying to find anything about that now. He solely focuses on inhuman strength and rare abilities. He found about some folktales regarding this and that. But there wasn’t anything useful for him.

When Neil finally decided to go back, it was already evening. He feels his stomach growling. He leaves the library and decides to eat something on stalls for his dinner.

On his way, he notices people looking at him. There were also some who looked at him and started laughing. Neil remembers why. His heart suddenly aches. Because of everything from the morning he forgot about it. He remembers the time when Rena left him.

‘Rena..right..she is not here anymore.’

His heart goes back to that depression state from last night. Soon he reaches a stall selling some type of sandwich like snack. But instead of going there, he makes his way to a bar.

The legal age for drinking in this world is 15. Neil had never drunk in his life. But now he wants to see whether that mysterious liquid can really makes you forget pain or not. He goes inside the bar and sits on a chair beside the counter. He orders something to eat and alcohol.

“Hey look at that guy. I didn’t recognize him because of eyepatch but he is that golden eye monster right.”

“huh..yeah it’s that guy from yesterday. Man, what a show he made yesterday.”

“hahahahhhahhha...yeah that was too good. So the lover boy is here to cry over his girl. Hahahahhah..amazing.”

Soon enough people around him started talking about him, laughing at him and even taunting him. Neil could hear them well enough. He drank more and more to stop the voices from reaching his ears. But it doesn’t seem to work as these voices kept cringing in his head.

Neil leaves the bar totally drunk. He was not in state you would call normal. His mind isn’t working well. He can feel all that alcohol going to his head. His mind his filled with the thoughts of Rena and memories of yesterday.

“Hey look at that guy. Did he just came out of the bar?”

“Yeah poor guy.His love got snatched away by prince.”

Two people are talking about him as others in the bar. Neil was about to leave but stopped after hearing what one of the guy said.

“Yeah...But I think it’s better for him this way. That girl was a slut.”

“Really, I thought it was just a rumor.”

“No, It’s true. She was a slut. She would sleep with anyone as long as there was merit for her in it. I can tell you because I also had a taste of her once.”

“What really...You never told me about that.”

“Yes, even though she was a slut. She was really good. I don’t think I ever had a woman like her before in my life.”

Neil who hears that totally loses control over his thoughts.

‘What..what are they talking about? My Rena...a slut...no way..lies..these are all lies...she will never do something like that..no way I could believe that...’

Neil runs to stop their voices from reaching his ears. But the voices in his head never stops.

‘She was a slut...’

‘I had a taste of her before….’

‘Poor guy, his love got snatched away by prince...’

‘So the lover boy is here to cry over his girl...’

‘hahahha..what a show he made yesterday…..’

These voice kept going in his head over and over. Neil covered his ears to stop them. But the voices never seem to stop. Tears starts to fall down from his eyes. But he kept running. He wanted to run away from everything.

His mind was a mess. The alcohol from earlier blurred his vision. He can’t think straight anymore.

“Hey..wai-”

Soon he bumps into someone. When he opens his eyes. He sees a girl with long blonde hair with red eyes and white skin. She was a real beauty. But she was also the girl named Lisha. The girl of the bully team in his school. She bullied him and left no chance of making Neil’s life miserable. She was one of the person Neil would not like to meet right now.

“Hey watch where you are going?”

Lisha shouted at Neil. She then stared at his face which is covered in tears.

“ahahahaa..What is with that face? You look so pathetic. You know I laughed so hard yesterday. ahahahhaha..Let me tell you something good. That girl, she had intentionally gone to prince. You really think prince would try to find some girl in a random town. She is the one who seduced him. But it’s no surprise, it’s always been like that for her. I have seen her with different men all the time. It’s so funny that you fell for her.”

Her words are like needles to Neil. They struck him where it hurts the most. His mind was hazy. All the painful memories circled around his head. Then Neil started feeling little strange. He was feeling pain. But there was a different emotion mixed with it.

It was anger. It was rage. He can feel his blood boiling. As if his mind and body wants revenge for everything. As if he wants someone to pay. He doesn’t know whether the things they are saying about Rena is true or not. He doesn’t care about it.

All that matters is that he wants to shut that girls mouth in front of her.

“you...you fucking bitch…”

Lisha was startled. Never once before has she saw Neil talking back to her. What was even more terrifying is Neil’s face. He looked at her with anger in his eyes. He greeted his teeth.

“Wh-what is up with you all of sudden? Do you even know how strong am I compared to you?”

It was true. She is really good with magic. Neil can never hope to win against her. But it was all the things of the past. He has this new power.

Neil takes off his eyepatch. Lisha opened her eyes wide as she looked at his eyes.

“Wh-what jus-”

She was interrupted by a punch to her stomach.

“guh..”

She crouched down while holding her stomach. She looked up to see Neil looking with cold eyes at her. It was unbelievable for her that Neil covered that distance before she could even react. He was never this fast before.

She quickly jumped back and chanted a fire spell. A fireball was shot directly at Neil. Neil just stood there without moving. He takes the direct hit. Another surprise reaction can be seen on Lisha as it didn’t affected Neil much.

Lisha quickly tried to chant another spell but got punched in the face before she could finish. She fell down from the impact. Neil lifts her face by her hair. A blood stream goes down from her mouth. Neil slaps her again and again and again and again and again.

Lisha with a distorted face glares at Neil and spits at him.

“Fu--fuck you…”

She cursed at him. That angered Neil even more. This time he hit her with a punch in her stomach so hard that it knocks her out. Neil carries unconscious Lisha on his shoulder. He jumps with superhuman strength covering a long distance. He made his way back to his home while jumping like this. People is the town saw a silhouette that night in the sky. But nobody could tell that it was Neil with Lisha on his shoulder.

When he got back to his home. He throws Lisha in a corner of the room. He lights nearby lamp. He goes to the bathroom and comes back with a bucket full of water. He looks at still unconscious Lisha at throws the cold water at her.

“hhhhhhaaaaahh..wh-what..where am I?”

She looks around confused. Her eyes focuses on Lisha and then the surrounding room. She quickly realizes what has happened here.

“heeeee..So you finally had the guts to fight. What are you going to now huh? You pathetic weak man. How long do you think you can keep me here? Once I get out of here, you will be handed to guards.”

She said while not realizing Neil’s condition. He is drunk. He is in pain. He is angry. He wants revenge. Morals are the least of the things that he would hold on to. Lisha was about to witness the frustration of not being able to do anything.

Neil closes on her. Lisha chants another fire spell as she senses danger. But Neil shuts her mouth with his lips. Surprised by sudden kiss, Lisha tries to push off Neil. But Neil doesn’t even budges. She bits his tongue which is savoring her mouth. Nothing happens.

Neil releases the kiss after some time. Lisha gasps for breath and her mouth got sealed again. Neil puts his hand on her dress and rips off her clothes revealing her naked body. Neil takes time staring at her body. Lisha who realizes her fate feels cold sweat coming down her back as her face turns pale.

Neil forcefully grabs her hand and pushes her down on the floor. He lowers down his pants. He looks in her eyes before thrusting inside her with force. Lisha screams in pain but her mouth was quickly got covered by Neil.

Neil became furious as he kept messing up her body. With each thrust he remembered those painful memories. Each thrust got harder and harder as he remembered those painful words. When there was no power in her to resist. Neil lets go of her hand and put them on her throat to get better support. She started choking. Neil was enjoying every bit of her painful expression as she struggled for air to breath. The light of the lantern created two shadows on the wall. The shadows seemed like a monster dominating his prey. That night continued with Neil’s ferocious act.

The oil in the lamp is already finished. But it doesn’t matter anymore as morning sunlight is coming through the broken window. Neil wakes up while holding his head with one of his hand. It was probably the hangover from the last night’s drinking. He notices he is on top of Lisha’s body. He gets up and looks at her.

“What have I done?”

He looks at the person lying in front of him. She probably lost her consciousness sometime. But Neil was too busy in doing her to notice it. His eyes goes to the blood stain near her thighs. It was her first time. Neil knew he has done something bad. But for some reason he couldn’t feel guilty about it. There was no remorse. But what he felt is joy. Finally he has found something which doesn’t give him pain.

“Revenge is sweet..”

He mutters as he smiles. Something is changes inside him. Limits has been crossed. Even though now he has normal eyes, this time there will be a monster.
