“Day: 61. Two months have already passed since the incident where it seemed as if I lost sight of reality… I can’t even tell if what I am experiencing right now in life is real? In the blink of an eye I was “transported” from a destination to another and now I’m living in a hidden village together with my family, excluding a father who abandoned us when I was just an infant and a grandfather who died in the war between our hometown and another city in this country… One day my people came in conflict with the high mighty Pursuedale, and that dispute caused us to forfeit our homes and even some of our lives, among those my grandfather’s. What I cannot understand is that he never suspected anything at all while being a town resident in that large, undercity district, even known as The persecuted village… I doubt that this story is about us though… occasion to why I should keep my identity as inscrutable as possible.
On the other hand… I do have a task to complete, more particularly… a certain blood bounded obligation which I cannot ignore.
I don’t know what happened to a friend of mine during that incident two months ago…
Even so she was certainly a skilled fighter, she used her fire magic gracefully… time manipulation wasn’t a disadvantage and…
she seemed to be swift on her feet. With flexible joins she could easily move her lithe body, predicting the enemies’ next movements wasn’t very hard for her and she was strong.
I on the other hand didn’t have much to offer her along the way on our adventure… I was a coward who felt discouraged even by the thought of taking another human being’s life, and at first I didn’t know that I possessed my ability of thievery.
The army in the city which attacked my town had been tasked by their colonel to invade other cities, and I just so happened to encounter this girl during my flew seven months ago and she was on a leg bail herself from her hometown… the reason is unknown and she wouldn’t tell me much about herself or of her past, although, no matter how crazy the idea sounded, we decided to jeopardize together and try to stop the army ourselves. But damn we were fools back then, and in the very end I nearly lost my life.
Rayn was caught off guard and… never mind. It’s all in the past anyway.
Rayn is an only child who grew up in the city in the rocky highlands of Concrete Force.
Concrete is a society with a vigorous, shrewd population. Those people are incredibly loyal, active and has scored the best pedagogical results in the entire Acrana, most of them are also very rich.
Her family is characterized of the aristocracy and the mayor of Concrete attempts to fool of this family lots of funds, after the failure once one of the father’s company went bankrupt."
The boy suddenly stopped writing once he heard a noise downstairs… His mother had been leaving for the market street around twenty minutes ago so he doubted that she possibly could be back already and his brother was supposed to meet up with some friends, perhaps they were going to haunt together or something. Suspiciously he placed down the pen on his desk in the room, blenched back slowly and arose from the chair. Throwing his quilt over himself he would sneak down under the somewhat exalted bed with long legs and make sure that no one found him in case there was a burglar in the household. He waited patiently for what felt like… at least more than ten minute, before he slowly crawled out of his hiding spot, assuming that silence was the best sign of security,
but… unfortunately he was wrong.
- Playtime’s over.
There was a girl standing there in front of him on the floor. She had this gothic outfit which screamed of disobedience, her face was covered with a black hood and on her left shoulder there was a shaped birthmark which resembled a half cut, black heart.
The boy was staring at her, unable to speak as she pulled out something from her left pocket on the low cut tunic… it was a scissor.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
- This is the one, isn’t it?
The girl questioned meanwhile she was tranquility picking up a book from the desk, the book which he had been writing in, and gently browsed through the pages till she could find the page noted with the title “The sixty-first day”.
- So… this must be… it. There was a war between Persecuted and Pursuedale, your grandfather was killed… a… girl?
Hmm… a “blood bounded obligation“, huh? Seems like someone has a little crush. Unfortunately I will have to burn this newly found love interest into ashes.
- M-Marlene-…!
He hesitated for a second… the first intention was to just sprint over there and snatch the book within the first stroke,
but… he knew that would have been pointless. This girl was a skilled fighter who used to work for class Z, a fair set corporation in Pursuedale, before she abandoned the organization and became a wanted bandit. He, as rookie who was still learning the basics in the art of war in the tai chi genre wouldn’t stand a chance against her.
- What’s wrong boy? Getting a little insecure, are we…? Well… what if I just used a mind manipulating spell to make you write down exactly everything that you remember from the events in the past and then I’ll use this scissor here to clip out some important details from it which might be necessary for my task? In return I will of course give you a valuable profit… so, what do you say? Or, are we gonna ignore the repayment and just skip to the funny part?
- Marlene, I swear to you, if anything happens to her then I’ll…
He was interrupted once she seized her arm round his shoulders and toppled him down on the floor.
Raising her arm a strangle grip was her next intention and in the meantime she pulled out a knife from her right pocket.
Gasping for air once Marlene lifted him up from the floor by a hold round his throat she playfully licked the knife and pondered where on his body she should aim her first gash?
- I gotta say, you really don’t put up a fight boy… at all!
- Y-you’re… you’re gonna… regret… this!
He started to lose consciousness and his cheeks grew red… his vision was getting blurry and as if the unimaginable answer to his prayers had been fulfilled… in the very end she… she chose to… spare his life. One thing was for sure, that acid deficiency shock had really pumped out his spirit and he needed to take a breather before he could recover properly…
- Why did you-…
The next thing he knew she was recklessly cutting out pieces of the pages in the book, and that scenario triggered his instincts.
He expressed his anger and purposed to challenge her to a duel, no matter how crazy or unrealistic the idea was…
Although he barely managed to arise to his feet before she hushed him and whispered something surreptitiously in his ear.
- Remember, I’m supposed to be the “antagonist” in this novel… you don’t want to ruin my spotlight, do you?
She picked up the pen from the desktop and wrote something on an empty page…
“They have no idea what they are getting themselves into once they are signing the contracts, and even if they read it through multiple times those office workers are pros, and the small prints will probably be ignored!… Not because it’s my problem though.”
Collecting the spread out pieces on the floor with a magnetic spell she gathered them in a box, planning to retain it as a keepsake,
but by a split second when her alertness wasn’t fully focused she was wrestled to the floor.
- Give me the box!
The boy commanded, but even if he put his best effort in trying to grab hold of the box he was unfortunately too slow as the hooded character conjured forth a portal which she would use to transport herself to another surrounding area…
The male would do anything in his power to receive the box and as if something even more unexplainable happened the clasp was unlocked and that’s when Marlene seized the opportunity to transmit it through the portal, but to make the “game” more entertaining she decided to send out each one of the different pieces towards altered locations in the country, now it was Moore’s job to find them all before it was too late. Even if he couldn’t grasp it at first she would cast a death spell over the book and if he didn’t find the remaining twenty pieces before the pass of thirty days, the girl’s life would be set at stake.
