...
an hour later
"so this world has gods? if there are gods there are sanctums but I don't really want to get involved with sanctums. I had a terrible history with them in my previous life anyways"
*He had decided to check out the sanctum of combat to see if it was worth him investing time into it.*
...
*he arrived at the extremely mechanical and loud church of combat and it was nearly as he expected, the sounds of grunts, swords clashing, and the sounds of people marching* *"very militaristic... am I sure this is a sanctum?"*
*He walked to the door that lead into the lobby of the church and walked up to the back of line of people to the front desk, at the front he saw a middle aged brown haired woman at the front desk talking to the others*
"If I join the military of this country, that would be very beneficial for me... I could get some money, and learn more about this world instead of just about this country. Yeah I think I'll do that that seems to be a good option. All I have to do is master the art of combat, stay alive, or I could master combat and flee from the battlefield. I don't need to die for a country I don't even know"
*He opened the doors of the sanctum, and saw a desk clerk and a long line in front of him*
...
After a couple of minutes
*finally Alista was able to talk to the clerk*
"Hello, my name is Urizen Smith and I'm here to join the sanctum"
*The clerk smiles at him*
"sure thing! just give me a form of identification, and I'll get it all sorted out for you. Then you go behind that wall and be debriefed!" *He handed her his ID and waited for her to finish filling out the paperwork a*
"here you go! you might want to get there quick because I think they're just now starting! and once you get done with debriefing you'd want to be extremely observant since you never know what could happen" *she handed him the paperwork and his ID back and sends him off to the back*
"I'll be sure to look out for anything coming at me" *he said that with a bit of a laugh but secretly he was extremely nervous of what could happen*
*Alista walked behind the clerk and saw a door that said "Debriefing," and opened the door to reveal a square shaped auditorium, and a group of formally dressed people at the front standing above everyone else*

*One of the guys stepped up*
"Hello everyone you all are here to learn the art of combat whether it be joining the military or defending yourself. You all are here for the sole reason of learning the combat skills you need to succeed in whatever you do. Now you might be wondering how combat skills will help you succeed in whatever you do let me tell you this we don't just train you in melee combat and ranged combat!*
*the people behind the speaker rolled up a board and began to draw unrecognizable symbols and words.* *"what? what more could there be to combat in a world like this?"*
"There are these 'Gates' and it's not the gates we walk through. We are talking about 'Gates' that lead you to power far beyond what any normal human can call feasible and is just a fairy tale or a dream they have! they are under no circumstance allowed to know about the 'Gates' and you wont find any information about them"
*"so that's why I didn't hear about these 'Gates'... I want to know more about them, and if Manu has one. Especially that group from the collapsing building"*
"These 'Gates' are based upon real concepts that we interact with in our everyday lives. you can achieve, or get these 'Gates' by collecting the ingredients needed to get them, by killing and eating something or someone that has these 'Gates' or by training your body to achieve these 'Gates' which is the safest option but also the slowest. Now keep in mind we will not help you get these 'Gates'. These 'Gates' are split into two categories, Offensive 'Gates', and support 'Gates' but some can be classified as both."
*The speaker took a long deep breath before he began to talk*
"Say you want the Blood 'Gate' the only way to get the blood 'Gate' is by killing and eating a vampire or by consuming an abnormal or toxic amount of blood then you have a low chance of actually unlocking the 'Gate'. now take the Stone 'Gate' one of the ways to get that is by consuming a Golem or getting the core of one, the former isn't fun which I would not recommend doing! but the latter is something that's actually pretty fun and you get to live!"
*The people behind the speaker began to wipe the board down and drew another weird symbol*
"You can combine any 'Gate' with another. Say you wanted to take the stone 'Gate' and the blood 'Gate'! you would get the Blood Stone 'Gate' which you can't simply kill a Blood Golem, mostly because they don't exist! and partly to get it you have to manually get both 'Gates' and combine them! in which that isn't easy either but I'll let y'all figure that out!"
*The speaker snapped his fingers and a strong gust of wind shot out to open a large curtain unveiling a large gate*
"Everyone head that way to where you'll be staying and where the training grounds are"
*The speaker then motioned for everyone to get up and go through the gate*
*Everyone in the room got up and walked through the gate revealing a large field with craters all over it and people already fighting
...
After about 40 minutes of walking Alista arrives at a massive brick building that looked like a college dorm building
"It's almost nightfall... time really does go by fast when you're doing things... now how would I go about achieving a weapon creation 'Gate' that would be very useful for killing that group"
*Alista then walked into the building and saw another clerk in front of him but this time there's no line*
*the clerk saw him and said* "give me your paperwork and I'll tell you what room you're in." *He handed the clerk his paperwork and the clerk handed him a key with the numbers 8-1 on it and he walked away from the clerk to a staircase while cursing in his head "rude bitch"*
*after a couple of seconds he arrived at his room and unlocked the door then walked into the room*
*"Pretty generic room but I guess that's to be expected"*
*He placed The sword and gun down onto a desk and looked at the setting sun over the sanctum, the many factories and houses further in the distance*
"such a beautiful view... too bad it's tainted by all the buildings." *He sighed and took off his shirt to check on his wounds*
"still good... I made decent progress today but tomorrow I'm definitely gonna need to start melee training and fire-arm training"
*Alista climbed into bed and began to fall asleep
