14. A Brand New Life

14. A Brand New Life

In the past few days, members of the clan have been stationed around the house to keep me safe from the lurking monsters.

It took me a few days to complete the process of terminating my house contract and settling all my debts. Since the termination was abrupt and without notice, I had to pay quite a bit in additional fees. However, Yang told me that I just needed to send the invoices to them. All expenses would be covered by the Tailung clan. Indeed, wealth is a form of power.

I didn't have too many belongings. All my personal items could fit into two large suitcases, and they said they would get me a new PC if necessary. Sometimes I wondered if all of this was just a figment of my imagination due to going crazy. A good fortune like this was something I could never encounter again, even if I were to be reborn a million times.

I took the train to Bunkyo, which took about 30 minutes. From the station, the Tailung clan members were already waiting for me.

"Hello, Mr. Takehito Kurogane. Please let us handle your luggage."

As soon as I entered the station, six tall, muscular men in shiny black suits and dark glasses immediately took my bags. One of them held my coat for me. Three carried my belongings behind me, while the other three walked ahead, forming a line that cut through the bustling crowd at the station. Many people turned to stare at us with curious expressions. I couldn't help but feel embarrassed, my face flushed. I sensed that they were looking at me and thinking I was some kind of over insecure celebrity.

We got into a long limousine. The vehicle was fully equipped with amenities. I had never sat on such a soft sofa before. It felt like I could sink into it and never come out again.

I fell asleep as soon as we rolled.

When I finally opened my eyes again, we already arrived. As I approached the Tailung clan's main house, I was struck by its sheer size and grandeur. It loomed like a castle, its intricate wooden carvings and traditional architecture giving it a timeless elegance. The lush gardens surrounding it were a vibrant green, dotted with cherry blossoms that swayed gently in the breeze.

Standing in front of the giant gate were two elegant women in Qipao.

"Welcome to the Tailung Clan's Mansion, Mr. Takehito Kurogane."

They led me inside the mansion. As we walked, I listened to them introduce this enormous house.

"The main area is the Grand Hall, where clan events are held. Behind it is the training area, equipped with countless tools and weapons. You can find any weapon you need there. We also have a Prayer room. Additionally, there's a library, a rooftop garden, a dining room, and numerous other facilities."

They handed me a map just in case I got lost. It looked like a layout for a resort. It was incredibly vast.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

We stopped at the training area. Two people were sparring—one older and one younger. I recognized Yang, and the other must be his master.

"Sir, I've brought him to you."

The two of them paused and turned to look at me. The serious expression on the master's face made me glance away.

"Alright, thank you. Please leave us alone."

Upon hearing this, the escort bowed and walked away.

They approached me, and Yang introduced us.

"Master Liang, this is Takehito Kurogane, the heir to the power of Psyrenthia. Takehito, this is Master Liang, my swordsmanship teacher. He is the best in our clan."

Master Liang bowed, hands clasped before him.

"I am Liang, Wei Feng. I am honored to be assigned as the martial arts teacher for you, Mr. Kurogane. I hope to receive your support during your time here."

I was flustered, unsure how to respond, as I didn't know the proper way to greet a martial arts master. I awkwardly bowed instead.

"You can call me Takehito. I appreciate your guidance."

Master Liang wears a robe made of faded silk in the tone of dark blue, flowing loosely around his frame. A cloth sash is cinched at the waste. The sleeves are long and big, though tied at the wrists. Beneath, his trousers are dark and loose for ease of movement. His soft-soled leather boots show signs of wear from years of practice.

Yang patted my shoulder and said, "So, Master Liang, please teach him what he needs to know."

"Leave it to me, young master."

As Yang walked away, Master Liang rushed towards me, launching a lightning-fast thrust. I was taken aback and instinctively dodged backward.

"Master Liang, what are you doing?"

Without a word, he continued to attack me relentlessly with astonishing thrusts and kicks. I was bewildered but focused on avoiding his strikes. He was too fast! If I got hit, I would definitely be in trouble!

In the end, as an amateur, I couldn't match a master like Master Liang. With a high kick, he locked my neck and brought me down to the ground. Surprisingly, the move didn't hurt much; it just left me lying still like an insect under the claw of an eagle, unable to move.

"Your reflexes are quite good."

Master Liang retracted his legs, allowing me to groggle up from the ground while panting heavily. He went into a large room on the left and came back with two wooden swords.

"Now, try this," Master Liang handed me one of the wooden swords while holding one himself. He raised the sword towards me. I imitated, even though I didn't have any idea what to do next.

I low-key freaked out, since I hadn't touched a sword my whole life. The closest to a weapon I ever got near to was a kitchen knife. Besides, I am against the most powerful swordsman of the Tailung Clan.

But I have to do this. There is no other way.

In my mind, I realized that our training had started earlier since Yang left. He's right, there's no time to waste. I must become stronger.
