Hello everybody! I'd like to gather your opinions on the future of Emberstrand.
I'd originally started this novel as a practice work, a way to keep me writing and to improve my skills over time. It's worked- not only have I been enjoying my time, but I've seen massive growth as a writer. It's been a joy to see everyone enjoying my work, and I'd like to thank all of you for your readership.
That being said, this has become much more than a "practice work" or just a "first novel." I've gotten very, very invested in this world and its characters over the course of this work, and it's clear that my followers have as well. It was only recently where I was encouraged to go back and reread previous chapters. With this- along with a wonderful critique and analysis from a close friend- I've found that:
1.) The story, character and writing quality has gone up in quality significantly since I've started, and
2.) The early chapters are very, very rough.
I appreciate every single follower I've gained since I've started, along with every returning reader. However, I know that I can do better now. My main goal is to improve the quality of the story for every reader who decides to click on this story and spend even a little bit of time in Ios.
If you discover this narrative on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the violation.
So, here's the question. Regardless of what happens, Emberstrand will be completed- I am dedicated to this project to the utmost degree. There are two options I've found for how to handle this reinterpretation.
1.) I release new chapters while updating the old ones. This lets me move forward with content while improving the quality of older chapters. This also presents trouble later on, however- there might be quality spikes and dips depending on which chapters have been altered or left alone.
2.) A rewrite/relaunch. I've already started drafting better versions of the start of this story. This is an overall better project. I intend to move some things around, handle certain characters differently, and, in general, give the overall work a stronger voice. It won't take too long to reach the point Emberstrand is at now, as I've been able to write much faster, and with a higher consistency in recent chapter releases. That being said, this is a reset, a new upload. I'd hate to let any of my dedicated readers down for that.
I would love it if any of you would spare the time to either vote in the poll or post your opinions in the comments. I want to do best by my dedicated readers. Also, feel free to share any other comments/concerns/questions!
