I'd like to lay some groundwork about this story. I'm not making it up on the fly, I've been dreaming about it for close to two decades.

Unless you read my prequals on Amazon Kindle Unlimited you'll not meet most of the players until chapter seven, I'm reposting the first three chapters of each here as stubs.

All told there are 195 named characters introduced in the prequals and this novel. The center of everything is a kid named Malo, he's born as the end of the prequel Greta and you can experience his first nine years in the prequel titled, Malo. The Prequel Terius happens the day before, "Embers Burn" begins. By the end of EB he'll be 16yo, so there will be jumps where he and the other kids mature from chapter to chapter. This is not a story about kids saving the world, it's a story about their journey to survive childhood in a kid unfriendly world.

The second book will have a mystery twist, that I stole from a horror film in the 1980's. It's a journey story where the lead will have to visit specialist to learn the finer points of their arts and valuable "read between the lines" type lessons. The third book will be a north versus south battle royal, where the south is caught unaware that a war was coming. Within that war there will be a second war with higher stakes that make the outcome of the war between continents inconsequential.

The complete story I want to tell will take three novels, this one ran 173k words. I published those six prequels to keep it from being 250k words.

I'm new to being an author, I'm sure the prequels and the first dozen chapters of this is rough. I've been doing my best to improve, but need feedback.

My story has a prophecy, "The Return!" what good fantasy stories doesn't have one of those? I don't want to spoil anything by saying what is returning, but I can tell you it isn't a person, place, or thing.
