I asked a passerby gentleman about direction only to receive a weird gaze. Seeing my confusion, he pointed his index finger in a particular direction. Following that, I found a magnificent signboard hanging on top of a towering gate. This was even bigger than the city gate! This enormous thing had only 2 words:
"Krieger Academy"
As expected of one of the top 5 academies. Even their gates make you feel poor. That's quite exaggerating.
At the opening of the gate, a young guy was lazily sitting beside a table. A poster could be seen on the wall written: "Get over here."
Of course, he was calling the new students, but vaguely. For what reasons? Who knows.
I got over there as the poster asked me to.
Feeling my presence, the guy raised his head and asked,
"Newbie?"
"Yes, sir. Here is my acceptance letter."
"Okay. And don't need to be polite. I am one of your seniors, just sitting here for some credits. Call me Ishmael."
'You look way too old to call you by the name' I added inwardly.
"Yes sir. Oops, I mean senior brother Ishmael."
He didn't care about how I introduced him and started filling out another Form based on the letter.
I looked here and there in the meantime. Not discovering other new students like me, I got curious and asked,
"Senior, why is it so quiet? I mean - shouldn't there be more new students? I can only discover some seniors ."
He replied without looking at me, "Well, the academy has a total of 7 entrances. All new students generally gather at the west and southeast gates. This gate is the least popular one as it doesn't have anything iconic and is farthest away from other facilities."
I was awestruck. 6 more and better than this one! Just how much money did this crazy academy spend on gates?
While I was questioning my life, Ishmael finished filling out the form and handed them over to me.
"Wahh, a Lightning element user, aren't you a cool one? Looks like, the academy enlisted you in the Healing department. What the hell?"

His questioning gaze only made me sigh. I replied, "That's because my lightning heals others."
"Well, whatever" He lost interest in my answer, "Go to the Healing department to verify your Element's property. After checking your property, they will stamp it here. Bring this paper to the Registration Hall and receive your token from there. From then on, you can call yourself A student of this academy."
Ishmael's description was thorough. I knew that they will throw me into the healing department and, there is nothing I can do about it. Who told me to have such weird lighting?
I thanked him and was about to go. But he called me, "Little brother, let this senior brother give you a piece of advice. Beware of your seniors from your department. What can I say, umm? You know- Bad company ruins youth."
I thanked him again for his advice and headed to my road. But his eyes full of pity made me worried. "Is the situation that bad? Do they run gangs in the healing department? Will they beat me up, then heal me and beat me again until I call them boss and bow down my head?"
I didn't know. But I wasn't too worried about that They needed to catch me first to beat me up. I could just escape away with my speed.
After asking another senior about directions, I started walking and reached the area of the Healing department in no time.
The department building was beautiful, surrounded by a beautiful garden. And a signed board "Healing department" in beautiful handwriting. Little elemental birds were chirping, playing happily. I could see some senior sisters wearing white robes - with golden laces, talking and laughing. Their chime of laughter was like music to my ears. The whole place was full of vitality. Such compatibility with the department.
Was this place inspired by the legendary "Paradise"? Don't know.
And why would that amiable senior brother try to blemish this holy place with his dirty mouth? Or am I judging something by appearance only?
I recalled a quick note 2: ' Don't believe in every advice you get. '
I gulped and walked through the front doors. "Let's see what surprises you have for me."
