Dear readers,

Before I start this off, I want to let you know that this is not a story chapter, and that it will be a bit wordy. If you want a shorter version, or don't care very much, check the TLDR on the bottom. Thank you.

First things first, I want to thank everyone for reading my story. When I wrote Elegy of a Silent World, I honestly never intended to let anyone read it. It was purely a work of love and a way to express my thoughts and ideas into a tangible form. Now, with a few thousand people having clicked on it, and a few dozen reading it until the latest chapter, I am at a loss for words.

I apologize to those of you who may have been enjoying the story so far and hope you can forgive me for ending the story after such a long silence on my end.

Thank you to everyone who decided to take a chance on an amateur work on a platform overflowing with incredible works. Emphasis on the word amateur, as I am very aware that Elegy is extremely rough around the edges. That is why I am stopping the story as of now and have decided to go a different direction with it.

When I started Elegy, I basically went straight from brain to paper, following my train of thought as I went. I had a few big picture story beats planned out, but even those were tenuous. I think this shows in my writing, as the quality and cohesiveness of the story is inconsistent at the best of times, and un-immersive at the worst. This stems from my inconsistent personal schedule and the changes happening in my life being reflected in my writing.

My goal with Elegy isn't to make it big, getting thousands of views on every chapter or partnering with Amazon. My goal is to share the story I've always wanted to read from other authors. I wanted to share the joy I felt when reading things like Primal Hunter, Shadow Slave, and Super Supportive (which you should check out lol).

This is why I think it would be best to start again from the beginning. I am planning to go back and rewrite many chapters, keeping some things the same while drastically changing others. My goal is to create a more unified story, following a more logical sequence of events that I hope will create a more enjoyable experience overall.
