Chapter 3: Beast Continent

Chapter 3: Beast Continent

The sun stone atop the magical tower gleamed brightly, lighting up the surrounding areas.

On the third floor of this tower, where a library was located, a young hooded apprentice was flipping through the pages of the books.

It was early morning, so there weren’t very many apprentices inside the library.

The library was a simple stone room with a slew of yellowed wooden bookcases lining the walls. Many magic and spell books of various materials, shapes, and forms sat on these shelves.

Angus began reading as soon as he entered this library. And the information he has learned thus far has confused him and given him a headache.

He learned, that he's currently in the Beast Continent. A continent ruled by powerful Beast Masters that were capable of leveling the mountains and dividing the seas.

By contracting these terrifying creatures they have dominated this land with iron fist.

Each of these creatures comes in a variety of species, each with its own special power.

However, not all beasts are the same, thus after years of research by pioneering Beast Masters, these creatures have been classified into distinct classes and ranked depending on their abilities and origin.

Because of these creatures, these powerful people have established Massive Clans, Beast Academies, and a variety of organizations that they may exploit to their advantage.

Endless Cavern, was one of them.

This tall tower was ruled by Beast Master Terran, whose splendid rank would make most people in this world jealous.

However, only those who lived in this tall tower would understand that not only was this not an enviable situation to be in, but it might also be regarded a frightening sort of torment and punishment.

The basic function of an Apprentice was to labor tirelessly and carefully, looking after the daily life of their Great Master, in this case, Beast Master Terran.

They were also in charge of cleaning the magic experiment equipment, keeping the inside of the tower clean, caring for the demon creatures outside the tower, and... participating in Great Master Terran's experiments.

If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

Every one living in this tower was required to pay for the room, food, and board, along with the cost of learning with his own efforts.

Actually, after being taken into this underworld world, the original Angus began living in this tower.

However, the money he brought was completely spent after a year.

Since that time, he has begun to stay outside the tower, where every danger lurks.

To earn money, one had to leave the tall magic tower and either feed those nasty and fierce demon creatures, care for those creepy and odd demon vegetation, or look for and harvest the magical elements indicated by Master Terran.

One could also earn money by cleaning out some of the dangerous areas within the tower.

When doing these tasks, they would put on magical talismans created by the Beast Master himself, allowing them safe passage through the magical structure around the tower.

But, in this odd and enigmatic world, no magic talisman could make one feel completely safe.

Every couple of months, a few unfortunate guys would be devoured by demon creatures or plants while caring for them.

As a result, senior Apprentice would usually take the safer duties, leaving the lesser Apprentice with just the more dangerous tasks to earn money and knowledge points so they could continue their magic training.

Money was, of course, used to purchase everyday necessities, whereas knowledge points were used to purchase knowledge.

The Great Beast Master himself created the currency system.

As he thinks back to how he spent every knowledge point he had before to get access to these books, Angus can't help but start to sweat profusely.

But it's too late; all he can do now is absorb in everything he learned and look for solutions afterwards.

Fours hours later, after finishing the books he acquired in exchange for his knowledge point, he realized that the majority of his questions had not been answered.

One of them is information about Gods.

He can't find any records of them for whatever reason, as if they never existed.

But he was well aware that it was impossible.

During his peak, Gods are a powerful entity.

Each of them has a large number of followers in every world.

There must be records somewhere. He thought.

The problem is where to look for the answers.

Does he need approached Beast Master Terran? He shuddered as he remembered the mysterious and intriguing Master.

Angus is aware of Master Terran's cruelty and has witnessed it with his own two eyes.

Last month, an apprentice was feeding a swarm of demonic beasts when he forgot to lock the gate, allowing some of the beasts to escape, never to be seen again.

Master Terran was enraged when he learned this. To his anger, he feed the unfortunate apprentice to his contracted Beast.

Angus witnessed how the young apprentice beg for forgiveness while being eaten alive. He cried and scream on top of his lungs while his guts and blood was splattered all over the cavern.

His agonized scream rang out in this underground world.

Master Terran, on the other hand, simply ignored the apprentice and walked away as if nothing happened.

Because of this, Angus is fully aware that he can't approach the Beast Master for now. Not until his confident enough to defend himself.
