Eira Frostine : The Adventure of Ice Dragon
[First Story] The Story of An Extermination Part 3

[First Story] The Story of An Extermination Part 3

The sky is always painted pale white.

With frozen cotton dropping from the sky, cold air raged.

“I should have suppressed my cold energy, right? Meaning, this blizzard wasn't my fault. It happened naturally."

So, it's winter now, isn't it?

Well, it just happens to be profitable too. This blizzard can be used as my natural camouflage. Plus, by increasing the height until it hits the clouds, the camouflage effect will also increase tenfold when combined with the white color of my dress and wings.

If possible, I would like to land without anyone knowing. Because after all, I still grew silver wings on my back. It's small because it's adapted to my body, but still, with membranes and scales covering it. It was clear that it was a dragon's wing.

There might be species of half-dragon races that aren't true dragons like the lizardman. But unlike me, their bodies have more dragon elements surrounding them.

Although I also have the option of imitating the half-dragon races, I don't want to have that. Because it feels a little weird to the body, also it doesn't look pretty at all. So with a heavy heart, I hold it.

I just wanted to blend into this world as a human. And because of that, the human body will become my dominant body. The dragon shape is too flashy. If possible I don't want to use it at any time.

With many things in my head, I continued my flight.

“Oh,… the mainland. It's finally arrived."

A shadow hump from the distant mountains was visible. That's what definitely signifies the existence of a land. Even though it's far away, with my current speed, I can reach it in an instant.

Returning to my normal human form, I let myself fall freely following the gravity.

“Hmm,~… Familiar, but does it taste different from before?”

The instant I landed, the nostalgic feeling came with a slightly different feeling.

I've been here before, but that was thousands of years ago. So if you think about it fairly, it's normal for the environment to change.

As I remember, after the beach, there should be a green landscape, clear skies, and birds singing to each other humming the rhythm of the morning. But what happened now was a frozen beach, a snow-covered surface, and an endlessly blown cold fog.

It's only natural that it's because of winter. But it's strange, I think that as bad as winter is, the conditions are not as bad as this.

So... why?

“Hm?……. So that's how it is,…….”

Instantly a 'click' sound landed in my head. Gives an idea of who the mastermind is.

[Oh, how unusual. Just when I thought there were birds escaping from their cages. Apparently it's just some kind of human insect, huh.]

That's the answer I get when I feel the familiar population of a place. Even one of them willingly approached me. I don't think this is a warm welcome. But because I don't want to get involved with them. I'm going with the flow for now and that will change depending on the situation as well.

“Oh, sorry I was walking to the beach. But it looks like it's frozen for some reason…”

[Haha,... very rare. This is the first time I have seen a human dare to land here. Do you have the human lady's ice attribute?]

Well, it's natural for the dragon to say so. There is no reason for me (human), to explain why I (human) can survive in this super cold place.

“Hmm,… well, let's just say so.”

[Hahaha... Interesting then. After all, I haven't had a toy in a long time. I'm bored.]

Saying so, the dragon laughed heartily while flapping its silver wings.

Cold air spread out as if synchronized in his movements.

I thought, 'Really, dragons don't change in their heads, huh'. It sucks to see it.

***

It is a mighty dragon.

Dragons, like this Blue Dragon, even though they have muscle brains, they have good instincts. For example they are very sensitive to the presence of magic power. By relying on that, the dragons could sense something close to their realm. For example, enemies of the same race, humans, prey, and so on.

But still, feeling it is different from defining. The dragons couldn't define whether it was a human or another creature that was approaching. So based on the magic power assessment processed by their muscle brains, the dragons divided the assumptions into three.

First, peers (fellow dragons), who have the same or close to magical power. Second, the warrior (the existence of a powerful creature recognized by the dragon). And third, the insects (anyone whose magical energy is far below that of the dragons).

So even if it's insects, the dragons can still feel their presence. Normally small things like insects would be considered a breeze, but in special cases this time. Any insects that fall within the scope of its territory will be a concern.

And when a human insect presence appeared suddenly in their territory.

[Could it be the an insect trying to escape again?]

[No one else should dare to escape from our area. Or they will know the consequences, won't they?]

[You're right too, hahaha.]

This happened several hundred years ago.

The Blue Dragons that lived in the Frost Mountains, had until recently enslaved a certain race. For some reason, the slaves were also made to be unable to escape. This is because, slaves are needed by the dragons to do a certain job. So special attention is needed. For example, apart from being guarded against escaping, the slaves were also ensured to receive at least minimal care.

But despite getting minimal care, the slaves couldn't get the freedom of life. Their freedom had been snatched away by the dragons.

Without any strength to fight back, they had no choice to make.

If any slave tried to descend the mountain, the death penalty would be imposed. Regardless of feelings, a cruel spectacle will be shown.

That way, the slaves' belief in escaping could be dispelled.

Although some of them are still determined.

Until in one case, there was an escape action that was successful. Somehow, none of the dragons noticed. And it became a disgrace to the dragons.

So that when the dragons felt the sudden appearance of the presence of a weak creature on the nearest shore. They were surprised again.

‘How did it escape detection?’ That was what was being asked.

The dragon elder, who also sensed it, told one of his subordinates to make a move.

[Laront! Maybe someone managed to escape like that time. You go and take care of the rest!]

The dragon elder was annoyed. Ordered to one of his subordinates, who at that time was busy lazing at his altar.

[Ehhh. But,-...... O-okay, fine, I, I'll check.]

Feeling intimidated all of a sudden. The dragon, which was intent on resisting, suddenly stood up as the pressure changed. Immediately, so as not to anger his master, he went to receive his master's order.

If you encounter this narrative on Amazon, note that it's taken without the author's consent. Report it.

And that ends at the current situation.

[Even though you're human. With the ice attribute, you are the same as my slaves. Calm down and join under us, then I will guarantee your safety. The elder must also be pleased with the new workforce.]

Workforce? Do the dragons have it? And will the dragon take me and make me their new slave?

Well, it was true that dragons were a race that always relied on other races for all the delicate work. Of course because of the dragon's brute strength it's pretty useless for any job that requires that level of detail. If the dragons did, the destruction they might bring would instead.

That's also why dragons are called walking calamities, because all they can do is destroy.

"Well, try it if you can."

I have no intention of getting involved let alone being caught.

Besides, I also want to know if the dragons are still muscle brains like 5000 years ago. Or it's been a little different.

I also want to use the magics I just learned for my first battle as a human. The extent to which my magic can injure today's dragons. I'm pretty sure that my magic can paralyze dragons in the past, but things are different nowadays.

Because it's possible, dragons have also grown and developed in terms of magic techniques.

Even though the one in front of me was still a muscle brain as usual.

All of that for my adaptation to the human body. This is very important in the future, if I intend to make the human body the dominant body.

[Hah~,... you're so confident in being an insect. Can't you go quietly. Then I won't hurt you.]

“Hm?…Then give it a try if you can.”

[Geez.... you're the first to dare against us dragons, huh. Haven't you understood the horror of dragons.]

While saying that, the dragon released its intense intimidation.

It was a cold aura. Big and strong, just like the aura I used to give off if I went berserk in the past. Although this dragon did not have the immortality factor, it had lived too long. It was estimated that it might be a thousand or two thousand years, judging from the cold aura that was emitted.

Still, the aura was still not strong enough to weaken me. Instead it was just like a splash of water directed at me.

"What's wrong, why are you silent?"

I was just trying to provoke it as the dragon gave off its intimidating aura. If it wasn't me, one country could be frozen because of it.

[W-why, why are you unaffected by my aura?]

“Ah,.. I mean this breeze. Well, you're right. That's cool. Thank you for the service.”

[N-no way. Y-you, can you survive my intimidation!? From the main Dragon Knight, Laront? W-who, who are you really? How is it possible, mere humans can withstand our intimidation, dragons!?]

Oh, so his name is Laront. And the rank of knight, huh.

Honestly, this intimidation is very strong. The wind raged, the clouds billowed, and a blizzard formed. The angrier the dragon, the stronger its intimidating aura. The ocean that had not been frozen before, was now frozen due to his actions. The frost continued to scatter, covering everything, and freezing the air.

But I still stood unmoved. In fact, I casually shook off the snow that clung to my shoulders.

"Oh, maybe it's because you're weak isn't it."

Let's see how far this dragon can go.

[Y-you, you are going too far. Feel the dragon's fury then.]

Saying so, now cold energy gathered in his throat, swirling in his jaw. The snow is falling. Massive magic energy, ready to be released.

*Frostttt*

And after a while, that was the frozen roar of the Blue Dragon that was released. Freeze anything in its path.

Reaching tens of meters, whatever it went through, it would freeze to death.

[Huh, damn that human, forced me this far. Actually don't want me to use this]

And after the dragon let out its frozen breath. Several other shadows descended from the sky, three in total. And they are also from the Blue Dragon race of the same species.

[Hey,..what are you doing, Laront?]

[Are you destroying the ecosystem again? You stupid knight!]

[You can destroy our slaves if you keep increasing the chill, idiot]

Those who had just arrived kept on blabbering, blaming Laront who had just let out a frozen breath.

[Huh,...Winnie, Curlte, and Gilbok? Why are you guys here, huh?]

[Of course. Elder is angry, and we were ordered by him to stop you from spreading that strong cold aura]

[You can only say as you please, can't you? This human, really strong in the cold, you know? And even she boldly made fun of us dragons. Of course I got angry and let go a little.]

[Huh, a little you say? Look around, idiot!]

[There is no way any human can withstand the coldness of our aura, the blue dragon. You fantasize too much, don't you?]

[I've felt it too, the magical energy emitted from that intruder, isn't much different from that of the insects. You must be lying]

[Speak as you please the three of you. If you don't believe me, well, it's up to you. I want to go home. I will explain it later to elder.]

And while the dragons were fighting with each other, I still stood still watching them. Apparently, they are still muscle brains no matter how times change, huh.

[Wait, why am I still feeling that person's magical energy. No, there's no way that person is still holding out, right?]

Oh, apparently the dragon named Laront can notice me. Right now I'm still covered in frost, though. So the view is blocked.

However, dragons are creatures that can sense magical energy. Even though my magic energy is very small right now, it should still be felt.

Still, their reaction was too late, even the dragon named Lorent noticed me.

“Even though they've improved a bit, most of them are still stupid dragons, right?”

[What...... why you...?]

[Hey, why is she still alive after being hit by your breath?]

[Will that human be able to avoid it?]

[Or did you intentionally miss your shot, Laront?]

The dragons were very surprised that I managed to survive.

Let's go a step further.

“I told you, you dragons are too weak, right?”

Somehow I want to keep provoking them. It gives a different kind of enjoyment from when I scare humans. Still it's not because I'm arrogant or anything. There were three purposes in my action of provoking the dragons. First, I want to know how the dragons have developed after my thousands of years of absence. Second, I want to gauge the extent to which my magic technique is useful.

And third,... I want to have fun.

[You! How dare mere insects make fun of us, dragons!]

[Let's kill her]

[Show me what the horror of the dragon really is]

It's easy for the dragons to reach boiling point, that way they won't hesitate to come out with the maximum limit.

That's what I'm waiting for.

[No way, even with my strongest technique she can still freeze]

But it seems someone is already scared? With humans?

[Hey Laront! Why are you so scared. If she can endure the cold, we destroy me physically]

[Right, humans are much weaker in physique]

[Just step on her]

[R-right too]

It seems that he is stupid again, muscle brains resonating with each other.

“Oh, you guys really are muscle brains, aren't you? Please go ahead. Then experience for yourself how it feels to be defeated by mere insects.”

Ah, looks like I've gotten carried away.

[Damn. Shut up!]

One of the dragons swung its front paw and intended to stomp on me.

But I only readied my fist in response. Then with that momentum, just return the legs to where they came from.

[N-no way, she can turn my leg with a stronger force and it hurts!?]

[Why did you give such a weak blow, Winnie?]

[Shut up, it's not weak! Damn it! In that case, accept this.]

This time, the dragon named Winnie put more strength into her legs, swinging them super fast.

I quickly dodged it too. Then after the foot passed me, and hit the snowy ground, I delivered a crushing blow from the side.

*Punch*

My punches quickly shattered the scales, pierced the skin, and reached the bones to crush them.

[ARGHHHHHH]

The dragon named Winnie screamed as her leg broke.

[Winnie!]

[N-no way, she can pierce through the impregnable dragon scales?]

[Damn it, what the hell is she? Hey, Laront, who exactly is that human. Why is she so strong? Though her magical energy isn't much different from that of a human.]

[I don't know either and I've never heard of a human being that strong.]

“I told you, didn't I? YOU-DRAGONS-ARE-TOO-WEAK. Even though you've lived for thousands of years, surely you dragons are just being lazy while other races like humans are constantly evolving. Now the dragon's power has dropped to a level lower than that of an insect, haha. The proof is that a human hand like mine can destroy it.”

[Y-you! Come on everyone, blow your strongest dragon breath on this insect. With the four of us, surely it can destroy the pride of this lowly being]

These dragons, they still can't tell the difference in strength.

“Come on...Please just try.”

Well, looks like the day is over. I want to quickly go to beautiful places in the human world instead of getting involved with idiot dragons.

[[[Take this]]]

*FROOOOOSSTTTTTTT*

Stronger, bigger and more impactful. In unison the frozen breath was released.

Air temperature drops rapidly, as air pressure increases.

The frost was constantly forming and the wind was being deflected.

If it was the civilization that was behind it, it was clear that breath would make it a frozen civilization one way.

"Okay, then let's just end up playing around here."

This time it was not cold energy. Not an uncivilized tantrum. Not a civilization destroyer that came from me. It's life-warming energy.

The opposite of ice, air conditioning. The nature of fire is to warm the air. Dispel cold or reverse air temperature.

That's the magic I learned from the nature of the red dragon's fire aura. Combined with the magic of human-made creations.

The name of the technique is...

“Heat Fluctuation Explosion.”

[No, there's no way that the magic energy will...]

[Increase?]

[……Was she hiding it until now?]

[And this heat, does she have two attributes, ice and fire?]

While the dragons stared at each other frozen towards their opponent.

*BURNNNN*

The breath of ice was held back by the intense flames.

Turns off the cold, reverses the temperature, and warms the environment. The condensed snow spread to form a thick mist, and soared into the sky.

Heat is transferred and the freeze thaws.

Within a radius of just a few kilometers, the temperature returns to neutral. Reached its standard freezing point.

'Well, I don't want to flip the temperature all of a sudden. So made to a normal zero point much better. I am also satisfied with the show. So it's time to go.'

When the dragons were still dumbfounded. I turned and left them. Since I had no intention of killing them, I left as is. Just destroying their self-esteem is enough for me.

Some of their burns and fractures, let it be a once in a lifetime experience.

Think of it as a gift, okay?

"Then,... see you later."

With that, I slipped away while the fog was still billowing.

[W-who exactly are you]

When I turned around, a voice reached my ears. He looked like Lorent, judging by his voice.

Since now I'm human, let's answer as it is.

“Hm,… I'm just a normal human, nothing more.”

With that I turned around, left the dumbfounded dragons, and headed north in my permanent human form.

[Normal...]

[....human?]

[Have humans become this strong now?]

[Is it true that humans are getting stronger when we dragons are sitting idle?]

[B-but, that was the proof, wasn't it? Even she is still holding back.]

[...She also seems to even pity us.]

[Is this the beginning of the destruction of the dragons?]

[F-for now let's report this to the elder.]

[Right you...]

Meanwhile Eira went to Sanders Town. The dragons formed a huge misunderstanding in their minds.
