----------------------------------------

In the blink of a moment, I was awake… The Alarms we’re off, making a noise towards the barren Planet, Pluto. I was bewildered, not knowing who I am, what I must do, and not knowing the purpose of the alarms buzzing.

“Who am I?” I asked internally. And within my thoughts comes forth a barrage of information. I don’t know how to describe it. It’s like someone punching your brain on the flesh, yet just like the nature of the brain, I can’t feel any pain from it.

[Earth’s Intelligent Protector Agent – E.I.P.A]

EIPA… what a weird name, I would’ve preferred to be called…

[Searching database…]

“Ken” or “John.” But somehow… I feel attached to it… Ah! But no matter, I must know why am I awake or the purpose of why am I created.

Earth… Humanity… I must…. Save Humanity?... Just as I was trying to analyze the meaning behind those words, I then remembered the distressed call that made me awake in the first place.

[Distressed Call #000666 – A Distressed call that alarms the A.I. that the Earth has been attacked; Foreign or Local]

The Earth has been attacked? The thing that I was made to protect? Then what am I doing here laying stasis on this depressing Planet? I must hurry towards Earth and save my creators!

But how do I launch myself towards Earth?

[Computing…]

I must first analyze my current situation and the available resources to fully conclude the best solution…

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

My mechanical body is placed on the surface of the Planet. The rest of my mechanism is actually covered by the Planet's crust all the way down towards the core of the Planet. Its entire purpose is to make the geological activity of iced crushed on the mantle as my primary power source.

The main problem is that I don’t have a built-in thruster for me to be launched outwards from this Planet. The light-based rockets that brought me here were destroyed when I was landed here on Pluto.

[Searching thrusters’ blueprints…]

I can create a new thruster for me to use, but that takes time—probably weeks to complete. If Earth has sent me a distressed call for help, I must go there as fast as possible. They wouldn’t have sent me that signal if they can do it by themselves; the enemy must be that strong for them to send it.

I must find a way for me to be launched toward space. A viable, safe, and fastest way to travel…

Beep! Beep! Beep! Beep!

Oh, these alarms! These alarms! The alarms won't stop buzzing me! It's distracting me from calculating a solution!

Wait… Let me check on something…

[Power available: 500% exceeds the recommended stored amount]

Oh, that’s why I have the “1 system error” on my boot-up sequence. That is probably why the alarms were still on all this time. It was warning me about the exceeding power levels.

Exceeding power levels? If I have an enormous amount of extra energy, I can probably use it to launch myself out of space! Killing two birds with one stone!

The mechanism beneath me is structured as a large long tube. Divided into three levels. The three levels mark how deep the pipe is; level 1 is the level near the surface. The large tube is primarily used to deliver the collected energy from level 3 towards my components. But I can reverse the process by outputting my exceeded power outwards.

Ah! But there is another problem. Level 3 is permanently stuck between the icy mantle of Pluto. It is made that way to accurately gather the seismic activity from the moving tectonic plates for energy. But luckily, I can disconnect myself from level 3 and use level 2’s tube as my thrusters.

Putting that in mind, I can power down non-essential systems and use the remaining power as my fuel; I can reach Earth in proximately… 2 days!

Amazing!

But… if I were to be launched in this manner, wouldn’t the crust that I am covered with come with me too? Doesn’t that significantly affect my speed?

[Calculating projected speed]

3 days arrival. It is not bad that considering my other options for building a new thruster is in one week, I think this is a far better solution than any of them.

[Calculation Complete – Completion Time: 1 hour, 33 minutes and 45 seconds]

----------------------------------------

With that plan in mind, I then began preparations for launch.

[Shutting Down Seismic Generator…]

[Shutting Down Level 3…]

[Disconnecting Level 3]

Beneath Pluto’s icy mantle, the sound of mechanical collisions began to be heard as the surrounding ice cracked by the large vibrations it created. The gears started to turn as it moved the level 2 tube upwards to make a little distance between it and the level 3 tube.

[Powering down non-essential system]

[Additional 50% power]

[Redirecting 450% of power traffic, outward…]

----------------------------------------

The vibrations from my launch preparations began to shake the nearby surroundings. Then the artificial thrusters in level 2 began to emit a rising sound.

"I think the preparations are in order," I thought to myself as I double-check my systems for a safe launch. "For 1000 years, I have laid dormant in this planet, though I've felt no attachment on staying here, I do give my thanks for protecting me all these years, but now I must leave and fulfill my mission."

I then captured a photo of my surrounding as my final photo of the Planet's surface. I then aligned my camera upwards and initiated the lift-off sequence.

[Enabling artificial thrusters…]

Suddenly a burst of flames came out of the tube as the pressure from the space between the tube and the coverings made it possible to speed up my trajectory.

The surface around me began to crack, and in a matter of seconds…

BOOM!

A large explosion marked my separation of myself from Pluto.

I was launched from Planet Pluto, covered with the Planet’s crust. On my way towards Earth, where I am destined to save.

[Completion of Launch: 5 minutes and 22 seconds]
