"So... what do we do with this Reality? It's so terribly... non-magical." An albino man sent into the void, twitching his obsidian mandibles.
A crack in [ ] spread before him and a swarm of red eyes poured out of it. They wriggled slightly at the non-existence and formed into a vaguely humanoid shape.
"What would you say about a simple lottery? First, let's randomly split the options into white and red ones. White means your management and red mine?" A feminine voice spread to everything without non-existence.
The man nodded and pulled a small, glass bowl out of another crack. A black, clawed hand reached out from within and tapped the bowl, filling it with red and white slips of paper.
The hand waved over the vessel and poured out the form of a perfectly random spell. Everything the magic touched, lost its protection from not existing and ceased. One slip, of white paper, remained.
"System Apocalypse," the man read out loud. "Crafting a new one would be such a bother and Mother would be annoyed if I reused one of our old ones..."
"Why not just use something local? Games or whatever..." The feminine voice interrupted and the swarm of eyes grabbed the hand still sticking out of the crack. "Well, it's your responsibility. [ ], could you pull me back? My entry is a bit far from home."
The man clicked his mandibles and shrugged. Maybe he'd even make himself a mortal form and use this opportunity for a vacation.
But first, he had to pick which world would... Wouldn't it be more fun if every world had its own rules? Maybe give each world multiple games to choose from too.
A smile shaped crack spread behind the man and he fell backwards, into the new Reality.
----------------------------------------
Much like all the other humans, Natalie didn't notice an albino man appearing over Earth. Well, almost all other humans. The man landed on the International Space Station and gave a small wave to an astronaut doing maintenance outside.
The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.
Still, Natalie did not know that. What she did know, was that she wasn't sure if she pulled an all-nighter, or kept working for multiple days. She vaguely recalled turning her desk-lamp on and off four times.
The woman stretched and yawned. This project enthralled her far more than she expected, but no amount of excitement over redesigning the factory would keep her awake, now that she got out of the trance.
Natalie pushed herself away from the desk and got up. She felt starved and parched. The woman shook her head and slowly shuffled out of her office.
After a couple of bumps against the door-frames and walls, she made it into her perfectly designed bathroom. Sticking her head into the sink, she thought working from home was the absolute best.
Dehydration caused headache averted, Natalie looked up into the mirror. Instead of the bags under her eyes, she saw a blue screen.
Welcome, mortals!!
You are permitted to restart your calendars, as on this day, reality as you know it, ends!!
Do not fret however, a grand tomorrow comes!! For the first time in the billions of years, your Reality existed, magic flows through your universe!!
Over the next twelve hours of your local time, you may discuss with each other the nature of this change. Those of you who will correctly guess at least one part of the System that will help you adjust will be offered the honour of taking part in a tutorial.
Everyone else will have the opportunity of a lifetime! You will be able to observe the reshaping of your planet!! Do not worry, you will not be harmed during the process.
Once you finish reading this message, a new window will appear, allowing you to type in your guess.
Hint: The System will borrow from games you've created over the past thirty years.
Warning: During the reshaping of your world, electricity and devices that require it will be removed from existence. You may re-develop it, but say goodbye to your digital assets and records.
Warning#2: All living organism in the vicinity of the planet, will be teleported to safe locations.
Oh, right. Mothers Law has already spread throughout your Reality a couple of days ago. You might have noticed, that some of you died. You might find figuring out why to be a worthwhile endeavour.
Have fun!!
Your new divine overseer [ ].
Natalie slowly blinked and yawned. She finished reading, shrugged at the hallucination and typed "FF" into the second window. Wouldn't it be great, to experience her favourite childhood adventures in real life?
The woman chuckled and with measured steps shuffled into her bedroom. If she fell asleep right away, maybe she'd get to continue this dream.
