It's been a couple years since I came on this website hoping to finish a book that I could read from beginning to end and feel proud of. If I'd known how much work it would be I don't think I could have done it, but like the old xianxia saying says, "young calves have no fear of old tigers."
After quitting the job I took three years ago to take care of my ill partner I sat down and ran EGE through three more drafts and threw it up on kindle which should be going live on the 8th of December. It will be free to download for 5 days, from the 9th to the 13th. Besides the cleaned up grammar, and having an actual ending attached, there is a pretty big change that happens towards the end of the book that might be upsetting but seemed necessary.
Will there be more Eight God Engine novels in the future? Probably. The worldbuilding is simply to solid, wide, and deep for me not to be pulled back into it again. There were several concepts I came up with that I ended up taking out for the sake of better pacing that are demanding stories of their own.
This tale has been pilfered from Royal Road. If found on Amazon, kindly file a report.
It should be free on amazon for a couple days, but if you miss that window or you just hate amazon, if you're one of the folks whose reviews and comments kept the light of hope on for me during the passed few awful years, give me your email and maybe you'll find an epub in your inbox in the future.
Thank you for making all this work worthwhile.
Yours Truly, O Josephs
P.S.
If you're one of the people who either wrote a review for me on here or commented to make the story better, I wanted to put together an acknowledgements page that I could add onto the end of the book. So if you're interested if you could email me your actual name sometime before the end of the year, I'd appreciate it.
