DYSFUNCTIONAL
1: RELATIONSHIP

1: RELATIONSHIP

[THIS psycho is obsessed with me.]

Sol was only sixteen years old, but she knew that much.

Being owned by a possessive bastard was the reason why her life was so fucked up. Just look at her now. She had her back glued to the blackboard while she was staring at the bloodbath in front of her. And that blood came from the body of the unconscious boy on the floor.

[He’s barely breathing.]

The assailant definitely knew how to use the knife to kill a person. But she noticed that he didn’t hit the victim’s vital organs. One thing was for sure though: he stabbed him in the gut and twisted the knife before he pulled it out of the poor guy’s belly.

[Probably to make the victim agonize in pain.]

“Sol, am I not enough?”

Sol raised her head to meet Yue’s gaze.

Yes, this bastard was the assailant, and he looked pretty chill despite everything.

He had one hand on his hip while the other was playing with the knife still dripping with blood. For someone who just stabbed someone to death, he looked pretty much unfazed. She wasn’t surprised, though. It wasn’t like it was the first time that something like this happened.

“Why do you have to flirt with a loser like that? He’s not even half as good-looking as I am,” Yue said arrogantly. He wasn’t lying, though. He may be a psycho, but he was a handsome one. More importantly, he had the money and all kinds of connections that enabled him to act like this– to kill people without fear of getting caught by the authority. “I’m insulted.”

“We don’t have that kind of relationship,” she reminded him coldly. “And you don’t have the right to get mad at me for trying to date a classmate when you have a girlfriend.”

“Are you jealous?”

“No,” she denied firmly. “I don’t care how many girls you date–”

“Should I kill her?”

Stolen content warning: this tale belongs on Royal Road. Report any occurrences elsewhere.

“What?”

He cocked his head to one side. “Kill the girl I’m currently dating.”

Her brows furrowed in annoyance. “Why would you kill her?”

“Because it’s her fault that we’re fighting now.”

“And that’s enough reason to kill her?”

He looked up at the ceiling for a moment as if he were deep in thought.

Then he turned to her again. His face was still blank, and his voice was as cold as usual when he answered her question. “That and she knows too much.”

That meant the girl he was currently dating was involved in his “business.”

Yes, this bastard was already deeply involved with illegal and dangerous “businesses” even though he was just around her age.

But it wasn’t like she was any different.

[Still, Yue is just using me as an excuse to kill the poor girl.]

“Do whatever you want. I don’t care,” she said, then she picked up her backpack from the teacher’s desk. She gave the poor victim one last glance before letting out a deep sigh. Then she looked up at the psycho. “You can clean this up, right?”

“You didn’t have to ask,” he said, obviously used to that kind of f*cked up mess. “I’ll find a new school for you, Sol.”

“No, I can manage,” she refused while shaking her head firmly. “I don’t want to get transferred to a school under your control.”

He just laughed it off. “Don’t you think it’s time for you to stop trying to get away from me to live a “normal life?””

The psycho stood in front of her, forcing her to literally look up at him because he was almost a foot taller than she was.

Much to her disgust, Yue “gently” ran the cold and sticky blade over her neck while looking down at her with a mocking smirk. He was probably silently making fun of her efforts to slip from his grasp. “You know that both of us can’t function well in a “normal” society.”

“I’m different from you.”

He raised a brow at her, obviously amused.

“I’m going to live a normal life and have a normal school romance,” she declared bravely, then she grabbed the blade with her bare hand. Of course, she was cut immediately because of how sharp the blade was. It hurt like hell, but she was used to physical pain, so she didn’t even flinch. “I’ll find a normal boy– someone who won’t talk about killing people lightly– and fall in love with him normally. We’ll go on romantic dates, fight about petty things without him going on a killing spree, and do other things normal couples do.”

[Yes, the word of the day is ‘normal.’]

“That’s cute,” he said nonchalantly. He never takes her seriously whenever she talks about her dream of a normal life. “You have to fulfill the condition I gave before you gain your freedom, though. Which means until then, I’ll kill anyone who’ll try to take you away from me. Understood?”

“No, I don’t really get why you’re acting like this,” she said before letting go of the blade that was now dripping with her fresh blood. “But I am sure that one day, I’m going to get back my freedom from you.”

Yue roughly grabbed her bleeding hand and before she could even complain, he licked the blood off her palm before he spoke again.  “How come you sound so confident, you sheltered little girl?”

“Why you ask?” Sol asked in a disgusted voice while looking at Yue, who began to lick the blood off her palm again. “It’s because of my filthy blood, duh.”
