Year 52, Month 11, Day 29
An appraisal skill just when I needed it. How fortunate. I wonder if that person expected this by giving me this? Or perhaps they had a completely different motive? I don’t know what to think honestly. Either way, best to start identifying objects first, making a plan, and then escaping before taking time to think too deeply.
I decided to start with one of the non magical items first and pulled the coin out of my void storage. It appeared on the floor in front of me and as soon as my tendril reached out to touch it, a message popped up.
[Silver Griffin Coin: An ancient silver coin featuring the image of a griffin, from a long-lost kingdom.]
Wow this is so much nicer than just guessing based on the shape. I could tell the coin had an animal of some kind on the surface but I wasn’t able to see fine enough details to tell for sure. I’m not sure if I should assimilate or keep this in my void storage. It’s probably not big enough to give me any permanent skills so back in storage for now.
Over the next 20 minutes, I was able to identify all of the items in the vault. Some were definitely more dangerous, while others seemed actually fairly useful.
[Plague Chalice: A goblet that can unleash deadly plagues and diseases upon entire populations when filled with blood.]
[Bone Scepter: A staff made from the bones of ancient necromancers, granting immense power over the undead and the ability to raise powerful skeletal minions.]
[Wailing Skull: A skull that emits a bone-chilling wail capable of driving those who hear it to madness or death.]
[Soul Gem: A crystal that traps and stores souls, which can be used to empower necromantic spells.]
[Bloodstone Amulet: An amulet that enhances blood magic, granting the wearer immense power but requiring the sacrifice of living beings to maintain its potency.]
[Astral Key: A key that allows the user to open portals to other realms and dimensions.]
[Mindmeld Circlet: A circlet that allows telepathic communication and mind-reading.]
[Golem Core: A magical core used to animate golems.]
[Gravity Gauntlet: A gauntlet that allows the wearer to manipulate gravitational forces, lifting heavy objects with ease or creating intense gravitational fields.]
[Timekeeper's Hourglass: An hourglass that can manipulate time in short bursts, slowing it down or speeding it up.]
I am particularly interested in the Astral Key, Golem Core, and Timekeeper’s Hourglass. Those seem to have very powerful effects that can help me. After examining the other items, I’ll have to decide how to use all of these items.
[Chest of the Lost Expedition: A chest from an ancient expedition, sealed and never opened since its discovery.]
[Sword of the Heroic King: A legendary sword said to be wielded by the king who united the realm.]
[Pendant of House Thalor: A family pendant passed down through generations of the Thalor lineage.]
[Hide of the Desert Wyvern: The skin of a mythical wyvern, known for its toughness and exotic patterns.]
[Trilobite Specimen: A perfectly preserved trilobite fossil, providing insights into early life on Earth.]
[Emerald of the Green Vale: A massive emerald, said to have been mined from a long-lost valley.]
The other six non-magical items were also fairly interesting to examine. They seemed to be likely more culturally, scientifically, or politically important compared to the dangers of the magical items. Nonetheless they should all have their various uses.
I almost immediately assimilated the Desert Wyvern hide, curious to see what I would get from assimilating the material of a living organism. Not disappointed, I got a skill called Heat Resistance which reduced fire damage and heat effects by 10%. That should come in handy if I ever find myself in desert or volcano dungeons. I’m not sure what the outside world is like or what my life will look like if I manage to escape so it’s best to be prepared.
Looking at the magical items, I chose three that seemed to fit my current abilities best. I hoped to get some good skills from the Golem Core, Mindmeld Circlet, and Gravity Gauntlet but the others would need some experimentation before I decide whether to assimilate them. Luckily I did get three very powerful skills from those items.
[Skill Acquired - Summon Golem. Active. Creates a golem from nearby materials that will fight or perform specific actions until it is destroyed or the Reincarnator’s mana reserves are depleted.]
[Skill Acquired - Basic Telepathy. Passive. Creates a mental link between unshielded creatures within 5 meters allowing telepathic communication.]
[Skill Particle Manipulation II became Gravitational Control. Active. Exert a force on and control particles smaller than 0.5 m to form barriers, simple constructs, or directed attacks. Enables the ability to levitate objects and control the effects of gravity on the Reincarnator. Damage, durability, and duration are dependent on materials used.]
Once again, the system delivered. I don’t think I’ve had luck this good in a long time. Perhaps that means something bad is around the corner. I really hope not. As for the rest, I’m going to keep them secured in the void storage for now. I’ll have to decide what to do with them later. I can see uses for each but especially the necromantic item could have some negative impacts on me.

Now I need to figure out if I am able to use items or if I have to assimilate them to gain access to the skills. The reason I hesitate is because, it seems that I always get a slightly weaker skill than what the item could do on it’s own so for an item like the Astral Key, which seems like my best chance of escape, I worry that if I assimilate it I won’t get a skill of a high enough caliber to get me out of this vault.
The last thing I want to do is take those suspension plates on the pedestals. I might get a good skill from them for propelling people away or at the very least it would probably anger the ones who manage this vault when they finally see it. I’ve only got five minutes of my anti-mana field so I better act quickly, just in case. Using Gravitational Control, it was pretty easy to destroy the pillars which cause both plates to fall out of alignment and tumble towards the floor. After that, it was pretty easy to catch the plates, assimilate them, then rinse and repeat.
[Merged with 20 Spell Plates. Size Increased.]
[Skill Mithril Shell II improved. The effectiveness of mana-based abilities, spells, and mana control increased by 25%.]
I’ve never used mana externally before, only internally using Particle Manipulation. However, I think I understand the concept and assimilating those Spell Plates should make this quite a bit easier. Holding the Astral Key extended with a tendril, I begin to slowly pour my small amounts of mana into the key. I can see the faint lines of the inscribed runes along the key begin to glow black as my mana flows through it.
Good, it seems to be working. I feel the pull of anxiety in my mind, uncertainty about my destination but I can’t stop now. Action is what is needed.
It takes nearly my entire mana pool to fill up the key.Turning the key, a brief explosion of the black mana starts to rip apart the space before me. I can see just a black void before me, somehow separate from the room I’ve been trapped in.
Just as this dimensional door is opening, I sense more black dimensional mana appear behind me. Footsteps appearing on the floor. This time my spores are able to make contact with the boots and I can see some of their forms. Three sets of humanoid legs. Two seem to be circling just like the original intruder did but the third set begins walking towards me.
Echo mimicry records some kind of panicked noises from above the footsteps. More talking, or shouting perhaps. Acting instinctively I use Gravitational Control to create a barrier with the material from the pedestals, attempting to seal them off so I have time to get away. I roll into the doorway not wanting to engage these new intruders. Just before passing through and closing the gateway, I attempt to send a message to their minds.
“I only wish to live a peaceful life and am no danger to you or your people. Do not follow me or I may be forced to defend myself.”
I was trying to sound firm and forceful but I don’t know how well it came across. I think my fear might have seeped in just a little bit. The dimensional door closes behind me and I store the Astral Key in my void storage.
I seem to be safe from those new people for now but the question of where I am now hangs ominously over my thoughts. I’m completely drained of mana in a foreign location with absolutely no vision to help me. I may have made a mistake.
[Temporary property Anti-mana Field’s has deactivated.]
You’ve got to be kidding me.

Size: 2.9 m
Next Level: 3 m
Passive Skills
Reincarnator's Blessing II. Passive. Increase size gain by 10%. Increase luck by 2. Improve relevance of skills upon leveling up.
Advanced Assimilation II. Passive. Upon direct contact with objects of similar or lesser size, the material or biological organism will be assimilated into the main body. Assimilating a material gains its properties or one skill for up to 45 minutes. Can store up to 3 different properties or skills at once.
Roll II. Passive. Movement by rolling at a speed of 1/4th size per second.
Written in Stone II. Passive. Store up to 20 memories in the core that are available for access by Reincarnator at any time.
Regenerative Structure II. Passive. Forms a barrier around the core preventing undesired particles from being assimilated. Blocked particles will slowly regenerate 1.5% of damage every 8 minutes. Bone particles are twice as effective.
Mana Sight II. Passive. Clearly see mana and mana sources within 3 meters.
Mithril Shell III. Passive. Gain a hardened exterior similar to mithril, increasing physical defense by 110%, boosting physical attack power by 55%, and the effectiveness of mana-based abilities, spells, and mana control by 25%. When stationary, stealth is increased by 55%.
Echo Mimicry II. Passive. Reproduce sounds or vibrations that have been recorded within 1.5 meters of the Reincarnator. Sound reproductions are centered on the Reincarnator.
Void Storage II. Passive. Store up to 1.5 cubic meters of materials or objects in a small, personal extradimensional space.
Dungeon Native. Passive. While in a dungeon environment, mana capacity is increased by 20%, mana regeneration rate is increased by 10%, the effectiveness and speed of Advanced Assimilation is increased by 15%, and Death Field provides more detailed information about affected environments, including hidden threats, resources, and material information.
Basic Appraisal. Passive. Gain access to basic information from the Database about any item in direct contact with the Reincarnator.
Heat Resistance. Passive. Reduces fire damage and heat effects by 10%.
Basic Telepathy. Passive. Creates a mental link between unshielded creatures within 5 meters allowing telepathic communication.
Active Skills
Gravitational Control. Active. Exert a force on and control particles smaller than 0.5 m to form barriers, simple constructs, or directed attacks. Enables the ability to levitate objects and control the effects of gravity on the Reincarnator. Damage, durability, and duration are dependent on materials used.
Death Field II. Active. Release a cloud of necrotic spores that can settle on surfaces within 2.5 meters and grow, creating a network of mold. The spores increase vision of physical objects, detect movement, and accelerate decay. Creatures in direct contact with these spores are slowed by 35%, natural healing is reduced by 11%, and all living creature’s stats are reduced by 1.5%.
Dungeon Mastery. Active. Assimilating the core of a dungeon allows for the option of replacing the Dungeon Core, rather than gaining skills and size. While in a controlled dungeon, the Reincarnator can create and manipulate structures such as walls, barriers, and simple traps within 10 meters. The complexity, durability, and types of structures available depends on the Reincarnator’s size and available materials.
Summon Golem. Active. Creates a golem from nearby materials that will fight or perform specific actions until it is destroyed or the Reincarnator’s mana reserves are depleted.
