“Do you want to be a dungeon core?”
“Maybe, I don’t want to sit still for a long time and wait for others to come for me.”
“Well that’s not what being a dungeon core entails.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. I’ll give you a quick run down. Are you ready?”
“Sure.”
“Okay. So it’s about three phases. Defense. Offense. And Wild. That’s what being a dungeon core is.”
“Huh?”
“Yeah. The classical one is defense. Where you set up rooms and traps, and try to kill the invaders before they kill you. But that’s not all there is.”
“Offense is taking your own monsters and invading another dungeon. That is necessary for growth.”
“Huh that seems pretty interesting.”
“Right! And Wild is taking your monsters into Monsterium. A place filled with all types of monsters, you can hunt and capture wild monsters there and make them your own.”
“That seems a lot more interesting than what I thought.”
“Yeah right?”
Support creative writers by reading their stories on Royal Road, not stolen versions.
“Anything else I have to know about?”
“Core quality is a good concept to keep in mind.”
“What’s that?”
“By killing other dungeons you can increase your own core quality. The better the core quality the better rooms you can get, and monsters you can support. So that’s that.”
“Alright, will humans come raid me at all?”
“Occasionally, instead of other dungeons coming to raid you, a human party will.”
“Wait a second, will I have to travel to other cores?”
“Not at all. You’ll all be connected through the nexus.”
“What’s that?”
“It’s like a teleporter, you can give it different settings.”
“But wait, can’t high tier dungeons invade lower tiered dungeons?”
“Nope. You can only invade same or higher tiered dungeons.”
“Aha. This sounds like a fun challenge.”
“Right Lupin do you want to do it?”
“Yup.”
“Okay close your eyes, and count to three.”
One Two Three. Motherfucker.
