Chapter 0 - Prologue

'I finally reached the end.

I defeated every single boss, mob, and npc on all 7000 levels.

There is nothing left to achieve, nothing left for me to plunder or raize.

This is the last time I do battle with this character.'

His character - level 10,392 - walked through the open doors towards the last boss within the game.

The boss stood at the other end with a domineering presence, nothing said and no cutscene. Just a marker floated above his head: Origin God. Level 99,999.

His character moved towards the center of the stage, and Origin God copied the movement. The two moved closer to one another until they were within striking distance of a long sword.

The battle started.

Quickly grasping the hilt of the short sword attached to his belt, he threw a smoke bomb up into the air with his other hand. The God flew right into it causing smoke to envelop the center of the room.

Swinging the sword through the smoke, an impact with a solid entity caused the ground underneath to vibrate and a spider-web of cracks to split through the stage.

‘Four seconds left, and his power charge will be complete...’

A few more bombs flew into the air when the character threw his right hand forward. Using his sword to split the air and detonate the bombs, it caused a chain reaction to erupt.

Smoke dispersed into every direction from the blow of the bomb, as the visage of the God was revealed.

The white staff rose into the air before slamming down, making his character fly back, but the staff had not finished its movement. A ball of energy appeared at the very tip, black in colour and menacing in atmosphere.

The story has been taken without consent; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

‘The God’s final discharge.’

His character froze, and so did everything else around him. The God’s attack was frozen, and the particles around the ball of energy likewise. A brown box appeared in front of his character, with squares indicating various items and ingredients. The character pressed the folder noted: ‘stimulants and attribute potions’.

Inside the folder, numerous different coloured pills and potions were loaded, they looked very expensive but the character flicked his finger up before stopping at the bottom of the page.

‘Dragon’s Final Breath’

‘Demi-God’s Tear’

‘Orc King’s Charge’

The three squares he clicked popped out, revealing three pills of lackluster colour, which were immediately thrown into the character’s mouth.

The scene unfroze, and the ball of energy flew at him with great speed.

The character’s muscles bulged, eyes became dark red and a red flame appeared overhead.

His foot made an indentation into the ground, as he flew at the energy ball.

Before making contact, he moved to the side and was blasted by the lightning currents of the ball - [HP: 400/47,993] after passing the ball scathed in black tar, he reached the God who was charging up another spell.

However, before the God could blink and react, he disappeared from the room and appeared behind the God. Origin God's head flew into the air and the headless body fell to the floor, and the battle ended.

His character walked past the corpse, and Origin God's clothes along with the staff disappeared.

The twenty year old boy leaned back from the monitor and stood up.

Leaving a deserted internet cafe. He walked towards his favourite vending machine to grab a can of soda.

'Many years have passed and I still haven't gotten ill from drinking these expired cans.'

His thoughts gave way to more thoughts. His mind stopped thinking about enemies within the game, and instead thought about the real world.

'Who refills this old ass vending machine?'

As his thoughts piled up, an ugly noise rang out from the bottom of the alleyway which gave the boy a fright.

'LVL 297 Desert Warg by the sound of it.'

Only, his thoughts held no sign of a panic, but again the noise echoed throughout the area. This time it held a suffocating pressure within, which made the boy pale as he looked at his hands and pinched them.

"Shit!"

He threw the can within has hands towards the darkness and ran the opposite way as fast as he could.

He spent six years immersed within a game, but now that he isn't, his senses had become confused. His perspective of being the most powerful character within Ginlore was slowly shattering.

As he ran, he made an assumption of the noise based on the Earth he once knew. Making out the source of the noise to be two stray cats fighting or a couple of hounds getting mauled by something. Yet, his assumptions were off the mark by a whole galaxy. All he could do was pray that his legs wouldn't give way after he saw what came next.

Two goblins strutted out the alleyway dragging a large rat across the ground, making a trail of blood.
