Prolouge

"Hey wait for me," called Xalvia as she jogged up to her team. Nearly stumbling on her inexplicably clean white robes. Good thing these are enchanted, even if it is only self-cleaning.

"C'mon slowpoke, we can't wait all day" Kat running ahead on the pitiful excuse of a path as if it were paved, Janus following close behind only able to keep up by running. Ugh... Kat's just showing off at this point.

"Hey, not all of us are rangers, Kat," said Brikade as he struggled to keep up in his heavy armor. Janus exerting himself to keep up with Kat only slowed down a bit in response to Brikade's comment.

The "path" took another turn, this time around a large rock and some fallen trees nobody bothered to pick up. The barely cleared trail weaving between trees came to an end at their destination.

Gotta rest cant raid a dungeon without full stamina. Sitting in front of the entrance to the dungeon Xalvia waits for her stamina to regenerate.

Puling up the party window Xalvia watches the state of her teammates.

Xalvia LV:2 Hp: 100% Mp: 100% Sp: 81% Brikade LV:5 Hp: 100% Mp: 100% Sp: 76% Janus LV:3 Hp: 100% Mp: 100% Sp: 89% Kat LV:2 Hp: 100% Mp: 100% Sp: 96%

"We raid in five, I'll tank the skeletons and disrupt with a bash, Kat aim for the skull and hit them when they're off balance after an attack, Janus the same goes for you but instead hit the ones I bash, Xalvia cast Heal when we are wounded but above 60%, cast Regeneration on us if we go below 60, if we are going below 50% Hp cast Light Shield, your light magic is the bane of those skeletons so use it often." Brikade was giving directions as was standard for the party leader and the most experienced of the group. C'mon, we know this already we have run this dungeon before.

Five minutes later everybody's stamina was back at full and had their weapons drawn. Slowly the party walked through the entrance of the dungeon into the gothic entry room.

Entering first Brikade raised his shield and used provoking shout on the five skeletons hiding in the caskets on the walls. Kicking and shoving open the caskets the skeletons charge Brikade.

The main reason why skeletons are a low level and simple enemy is that they are exceptionally light, as they only have bones and their armor to weigh them down, a single swing of their heavy rusted iron weapon is enough to put them off balance. And that weakness comes into play as Brikade uses Shield Bash to throw all five of the skeletons back a few paces. Taking advantage of their stunned state Kat puts an arrow through the skull of a skeleton while Janus uses the pommel of his sword to smash the skull of another. The remaining three skeletons attempt to renew their assault upon Brikade but end up ruining their stances as they are pulled along by their weapons into the awaiting Shield Guardian. Rushing forward Kat pops the skull off of a skeleton with her dagger. Janus parries the blow from a skeleton and retaliates shattering the brittle arm bones of the skeleton dis-"arm"-ing it and making a terrible pun in the process before knocking the head off with a pommel strike. The final skeleton is smashed outright by Brikade his tower shield shattering the spine of the skeleton and breaking many other less important bones.

The same scene repeats itself as the party descends into the third floor of the dungeon. But right as they are about to enter the third-floor Brikade makes a hand signal for stop. "Starting on the third floor the skeletons have classes and are more balanced."

Immediately upon entrance to the third floor, the difference was obvious, the skeletons were standing around in formation, blue fire was burning where their eyes would have been, and there were three distinct classes. The front line of skeletons was wearing rusty plate armor holding shields and short spears. Behind them were skeleton archers and skeleton mages. There was also twice the number of skeletons in the room numbering at ten.

This time the battle was more drawn out. Strategic snipes from Kat disrupted the mages in the back to allow Xalvia to fire her light arrows into the archers disintegrating large portions of the archers. At the same time, Brikade used his skill Shield wall to make a line of ethereal shields to block up to 60 points of damage to halt the advance of the warriors. Janus danced across the lines of skeletons and hacked away at their defences. The occasional casting of shield of light halted attacks from Janus and tended to disarm the skeleton that attacked letting him make another bad pun.

But soon after he made the pun the skeleton mage cast a spell that rebuilt the arm of the skeleton warrior and he was struck across the chest with a strike from a rusty axe. Oh shit! That took 20% of his health in one hit and that was a glancing blow! "Heal!" Xalvia shouted pointing her staff at Janus sending the basic healing spell into Janus.

But with the bombardment of light arrows stopping even for just that short bit the skeleton mages finished getting their barrier up. Being pushed back the party dashes through a doorway and ends up in a hallway with 6 skeletons pressing them. entering the first room they see they dash inside before slamming the door shut.

Looking around the room the party finds an ornately decorated chest, not overly ornate with gold lining and pearlwood, but an oak chest with iron reinforcements and iron decorations on it. After Kat checks for traps, she opens the chest, and the whole party marvels at the pile of copper and silver coins with a ceremonial dagger haphazardly lain atop.

"YES!!" "WHOO!!" "WE'RE RICH!" shouts of joy and excitement ring throughout the room as the young adventuring party celibates. Quickly dividing the coins and stowing away the dagger they barge out of the room with renewed confidence.

Charging back into the fray the party emerges victorious, after long combat taking most of their mana and stamina they have succeeded. "Ok, let's get to the stairs and rest before we try to go back."

Damn that was close [Regeneration]

An aura of light spreads from Xalvia and begins to regenerate the Hp and Sp of all the party members as they sit waiting at the stairs to the third floor.

A few hours later in the local tavern...

"A toast to our greatness!" "Horray!" "And a toast to fortune for letting us have that chest!" "Horray!"

Everyone around the table takes a large gulp from mugs of their chosen beverage (namely different types of alcohol). "We could drink for a week and not go broke!" Janus says as everyone gets a bit buzzed. "Janus, NO!" Brikade shouts, but he was too late as Janus orders another round of alcohol and food while saying "Janus YES!"

Suddenly the system activates on its own
