7. Vulthar

I want to make a Lynx with an earth variance. I decided and started pouring all the earth mana I received from the new room into the Lynx blueprint. When almost half of the earth mana was gone, a similarly huge chunk of pure mana was sucked out of me along with essence as a huge dark brown lynx almost twice the size of its predecessor was being created. I had stone plates on its head, neck and back as well as all over its vital parts and jutting obsidian claws. Just as the creature was about to be completely formed, I decided to go the extra mile and use another one of my abilities, Guidance and send a copy of the memories of my previous intruder into my new creature.

Guidance (Dungeon Creature)

The capacity of the Dungeon to bestow guidance to its creature from its knowledge repertoire, accumulated through divine intervention and Absorption of world realm organisms.

Looking proudly at the magnificent creature before me, I brought up its status, while the creature was still acclimatising itself with its new body and memories.

The moment I started looking at its status, I felt the creature turn towards me. Suddenly I felt the connection between us snap, and I could not feel its thoughts and emotions anymore. I suddenly felt that the creature was a foreign body in my dungeon and I could feel a small sense of alienation from it. However, the reaction was far different from its predecessor, where I just felt the need to kill the intruder. I became wary of it with the broken connection and stared at it to see what its next move would be.

Level of Lynx (Earth Variant) far exceeds the level of the Dungeon.

Lynx (Earth Variant) has broken free from the dungeon connection.

Independent organism associated with the Dungeon free from its influence has been created.

Huh. It is unassociated with me because it is too high ranked? Then what about the mana I wasted? What should I do with it now? It does not feel a part of me anymore, and despite not being threatened by it, I feel wary of it and do not want it near my core. Should I kill it? Just as I was wondering what to do with this new situation, the creature took the decision out of my hands. It made a slight bow towards my core, as if in gratitude and respect and then bounded out of my lair. Wait. don't go, give me back my Mana. I shouted after it. However our connection was already broken and it could not hear me.

The blow of one of my own creatures deserting me was hard to describe. Although I had suspected that my creatures were their own individual selves, despite being connected to me. It had been just speculation till now, and was only driven home at this point, when a lovingly created creature upon which I had placed many expectations suddenly left me without a word. What about the Fox and Owl which are still outside. Did they too rank up and leave me, or are they coming back? Can the level difference between me and my creatures go up to 2 levels, or will they leave me as soon as they are a level above me? One more thing I have to take care of while creating new monsters. But I won't be able to tell how high their levels are going to be before I create them. Sigh.

Trying to get away from my depressed mood, I went back to experimenting with elemental creatures. I decided to experiment with foxes next as I still needed a strong protector for my chamber, also I would be able to know whether the foxes would leave me if any of them reached F rank.

Taken from Royal Road, this narrative should be reported if found on Amazon.

Having resolved my next course of action, I decided to make my first for a water variant, since it seemed to be the most successful among the trout. Injecting water mana in this time a male fox blueprint, a small fox with sleek blue green fur began to take shape. It had webbed ears and feet, a streamlined body as well a long and thick tail similar to an Otter. Not long after the creature was formed it rushed into the pool to get wet. Seems like water variants prefer to adapt for and live in places with water over dry land.

After making a female version of the same variant, since I did not see this going on land anytime soon to look for a mate, I moved on to my next variants. The wind variant was lighter than its counterparts, had extra large ears, and had a layer of skin between its feet making it able to glide over small distances when it jumped down from heights.

The wood variant had small branches on its head as horns, greenish fur and a bunch of twisted vines with a thorn at its end as a tail. The earth variant had hard rocky grey fur and a chitinous layer in between its ear on top of its head, and its chest.

I also tried to make some creatures which would be immune to my purple sleepers. After much experimentation and analysis of the purple sleeper blueprint, the final conclusion was that if I added water and wood mana in equal ratios and used my Disease and Healing on the mixture a new type of black tainted mana would be formed which was immune to the purple sleepers.

Disease and Healing

The capacity of a dungeon to introduce diseases or ailments to creatures or organisms within its confines. This ability might weaken or hinder intruders. Conversely, the dungeon possesses healing capabilities to restore health and vitality to specific areas, creatures, or organisms.

I called this mana poison mana. I decided to make a small number of mosquitoes, spiders and hummingbirds using this mana and release them to reproduce, as I somehow felt that these species were the most compatible with this mana. Thus many extra large black mosquitos, super potent spiders and black hummingbirds were born to call my lair as their home.

Finally after making a few elemental variants for each of the other species inhabiting my dungeon as well as making sure that all species had all the genders, I finally decided to once again make a stronger protector for my chamber room as the final line of defence.

Since my strongest usable species was the fox, I decided to make the greatest fox protector ever, as my final guardian. For him I wanted to do something new. I got the idea when I mixed the poison mana, and thus wanted to know if it was possible for a creature to have two elemental affinities. That is I wanted this final fox to have the affinities of both poison and fire. Poison, to protect it from the purple sleepers and fire, as I only have enough fire elements collected throughout my whole life to make a single creature. Luckily the trout died, or it would not have been enough for what I was planning.

After mentally preparing myself for my masterpiece, I began creating. I started by slowly injecting the two different manas into the blueprint at the same time at the exact same ratio. After inputting the mana for a while, a certain threshold seemed to have been reached and the two types of mana seemed to start rejecting each other. Knowing that all will be lost if I stopped now, I mentally started manipulating and willing two manas to coexist together. My mind seemed to take a physical form as it forcefully placed the two manas together and kept them like that, all the while still injecting more tainted mana into the blueprint. After a sudden peak in the rejection of the mana, the two different types of manas mixed together to form a small core half black and half red. The two different mana then formed two different mana veins inside the fox body and pure mana rushed into the blueprint at twice the amount of elemental mana used.

A one and half metres tall and long fox with dark maroon almost blackish fur began to take form. It had two beautiful, smooth long tails, big black eyes with red pupils, large fuzzy ears and a long snout with four fangs protruding out of it. Thick long blackish purple claws extended from its paws and a fuzzy black fire seemed to encompass its form. It was magnificent, and the most beautiful fox I had ever created. Wasting no time I again used Guidance and sent memories of survival, hunting, stalking etc. to its memories. And worriedly brought up its status screen.

My creature was a level above mine. I anxiously looked back at it, checking whether it felt the need to break out of our connection. After waiting for a while and seeing that nothing was happening I heaved out an invisible breath of relief. So my creatures only leave me if they are two levels above me. Good to know.

I name you Vulthar, my beautiful Fox. From now on you will guard my chamber and the purple sleeper clearing. You can have fifty poisonous hummingbirds as your knights. Well once they reach fifty. Of course, you can wander my whole lair, as long as you are here when there is danger. Sensing the agreement from Vulthar my happy emotions and then sat back and looked around.

My current realm seemed delightful to my eyes. A great improvement from my initial clumsy attempt I thought to myself with a bit of chagrin. I looked around at my different creatures nesting. I made a few more crevices and holes for my creatures, when I saw some of them making their nest in the hills, I even made a few tunnels for easier access for them, since I was anyway at it. Seeing different creatures, living their lives happily in my lair made a feeling of satisfaction swell up inside me. I saw the colourful fur of variants flash by now and then, the translucent grey white colour of the wind owls, and the green and grey of the wood and rock ermines flashed as they fought for territory and mingled with their brethren.

Yes, at last everything is in place. My creations. Nest, hunt and reproduce!!. Live your life contendly and protect your home from intruders. Although all of you are my creations, let nature and your instincts guide you. I hope that the boon that I gave you will be used by all of you. Give birth to young and continue your legacy, so that though you may be gone one day, your offspring live on with your gifts and memories. Obviously I had to encourage them to reproduce, after all the effort I had put in to make it possible for them. Since I am such a genius, I immediately realised the benefits of reproduction, the second I thought of this topic. It was simply the best way for me to save mana…Giggle … Hopefully even new elemental creatures will be born. With all the mana I will be saving with this process, I will be able to grow much faster. Oh I am so smart. (cure baby laughter)
