“While we can learn standard Magic Spells by training their incantations, our own affinities give us each intrinsic Magic Spells, which can be cast either intuitively or appear in our mind like a former forgotten Memory reoccurring when we have a higher aptitude of Magic by training…”
Miss Belle is leading the class while most students are listening to her lecture. Every so often some eyes glance to the unlikely pair on the side table, with mixed feelings.
One is a blond haired adorned beauty right out of a fairy tale, wearing the imperial seal on her shirt with elegance and grace, emanating not only beauty but also the power of the full Empire, while the other is a fat boy with simple black hair in shabby clothes unworthy of a Noble, wearing some jewellery that looks obviously made out of cheap materials that made the joke of a person even worse. The only thing noteworthy on him is the emblem of a Dukes house sewn onto his left pocket and shows his status, otherwise he would definitely be seen as some kind of lowlife unfit for even being in this class.
The other Students are not talking about the boy, as the Imperial Princess next to him has already stated she would not tolerate badmouthing him in her presence, albeit they still do if the princess is not present.
While Drak asks himself in his mind if it is too late to switch seats or maybe switch classes the Princess seems to be content sitting next to him and even talks in short pauses to him or asks him about his opinion about specifics in class.
While one is unwilling the other just drags him into conversation ever so often and he always is courteous enough to answer with his own opinions or knowledge as best as he can. The envy are on the faces of many males, while strange glances came from the females unable to fathom why an Imperial Princess would drop herself so low just to show her benevolence to the public.

“Hah, second day was also not really that easy, but we are through. I think I will deflate at this rate like a slime with broken core.”
In the Study of his Mansion, Drak is lying on the couch looking like a deflated balloon.
“Keep it up Master! The first days might be troublesome, but after the routine is ingrained into your bones, the days will pass swifter.”
“It feels like my bones start to already become powder by the ingraining process, I never thought it would be that hard to go to School.”
While Celia encourages her Master, Seria came with a note to Drak.
“While the problems in the School are also a needed discussing point, we had an attempted intrusion in the Mansion while we were away.”
“Oh?”
With those words Drak sits up in normal sitting position and starts to be more serious.
“Sadly the Servants could not capture the Intruder, but he was not able to enter anything except the garden before being chased away. Security checks show no other abnormalities, so he might be the first who tried.”
“Definitely not the last. We are already under watch. People followed our Carriage out of sight.”
Raja added to the discussion.
“Any special features Raja?”
“Invisibility, Presence Obstruction and light step boots. While their abilities are so-so, their gear costs quite a penny, Master.”
“That makes sense. Only high born would be able to track us somehow. I bet they are using some foretelling or maybe prediction Magic.”
“Master, can you maybe protect against these?”
“Already did, but that Magic is not in my repertoire and not only that, but also the most convoluted of them all. Every Seer does it differently and there is no common ground under them. Seria have you something?”
“The Imperial Family is said to have some foresight abilities, so maybe the Empire is monitoring us directly?”
This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road. If you spot it on Amazon, please report it.
“Would make so much sense on why suddenly an Imperial Princess sits next to me and even asks me for tea. Work will be so much harder with that. Better get the Gate and Door ready. I originally wanted to create it at the Free days, but now…”
“It would be great to have a way for movement and resources. But please do not overexert yourself.”
“No worries, but the time of sleep will be a bit short today.”
“...I understand. Raja and I just want you to remember to be near us more, when we are at school as compensation.”
“Okay. Let’s get to work.”

While one Mansion has a sleepless night Eleonora is right now in a strange place. She stands in a field made out of black strands and is in her night gown.
“...a dream? No, maybe…?”
In front of her the strands start to move and slowly grow. While Eleonora is not perturbed, she is unable to move. An eye can be seen through the small mountain of strands and after a while she saw a white face with a big smile.
“She is… that Maid?!”
Coming closer like she floats through the strands the maid Alice slowly grows out of those strands. They are her hair and Eleonora slowly got an uneasy feeling.
“Something is not right, what does that all mean? Why can’t I move?!”
The smile grows wider and wider on Alice’s face into inhuman proportions. Her snow white hands slowly came to Eleonora who is starting to panic.
“This is not right, it was never like this!”
Caressing both sides of Eleonora’s face the look in the eyes of Alice got more feverish. Slowly her ice cold hands go upwards to her head holding it carefully while the two thumbs touch on the upper part of the Skull and she starts slowly pushing her Thumbnails into the same place.
“It hurts! What is going ON!?”
* crack *
With a nauseating sound the Skull got split in two and Alice looks inside her skull like she found the most interesting thing in the World inside.
“Ah… ah!”
Unable to move the blood flows slowly inside of Eleonora’s eyes and she starts to lose consciousness and finally… everything went dark.
“NOOOO!”
Awaking in cold sweat Eleonora sat straight in her bed hyperventilating and shivering like a newly born calf.
‘What in Hell did I just saw?!’
“YOUR MAJESTY!”
Right away her guards and Maids came running. All had worried faces and look at her in worry.
“Nothing, just… just a Nightmare. You can go. Gerry, Jenny, you both stay.”
After the bedchamber were vacated by the others Eleonora slowly tries to bring herself back into a normal state of mind before talking.
“Call the Information Bureau. The Maid called Alice might not be an Illusion Mage but a Mind Mage. I am not fully sure, but if that was a Vision, she might have the possibility to read minds or manipulate thoughts. Also commission specially made wards for protecting our Minds from intrusion. I want everyone who is close to her being warded, especially us!”
“Yes your Majesty.”
At that time a small quake was felt through the Mansion.
“...what was that just now?”
“I do not know, we will immediately look into it your Majesty.”

The Academia City at night. Normally the place is silent for the most part. Some Students party, but most of them are trying to have a dedicated sleep schedule.
At this time a small earthquake was felt through the entire city. The magical sensors in the Guard stations in every corner of the City called an alert. This kind of Magical ejection was treated as an attack on the whole City.
The last time such event occurred, it was a grand Magic created by dozens of Mages to break into a hostile City many years ago, but it never happened so close to the Imperial City.
Every single available Unit is searching for the Damage or at least source of this horrifying wave of Magic, but even until the Morning nothing was found. While at Sunrise the whole City starts their regular routine on every corner and every street were Mages trying to locate something but had no clear reading.
While on the second day some Mages still worked tirelessly to find the source on a specific old and run down Mansion the hidden surveillance got tripled.
“So many people around, looks like someone has shaken a beehive or something!”
“No wonder, the occurrence the night the day before was rather perplexing, don’t you think?”
“Master, do you think they will find the source?”
Celia asks cutely, but already knew the answer anyhow.
“No, if they still did not find something it might be gone or was maybe just natural.”
“Well, ‘whatever it was’ Master, it was not subtle.”
Seria commented snidely.
“...But quick.”
“Master!”
