Huh… name unknown? But my name is… what the hell I can’t remember my name?! I can remember crazy old patient Jenkin's name, but my name is off-limits?!
Sighing I tilt my head into my hand and crouch, so I am squatting on my toes, and I think things through. I must not have had that good of a name if I can’t even remember it, and frankly, at this point, there is no use crying over spilled milk about it.
At least this gives me a chance to come up with a good name for this new life. Yeah, I’ve got that going for me; I can brainstorm some names for later, as it doesn’t appear to be anything urgent I need to sort out now. I literally was just born, apparently, if my age is any indicator!
Right, that’s a task for later. Looking over the other things on the status screen or whatever, I focus on the titles, which seem to be rather self-explanatory.
Reincarnator
You somehow retained your memories of a previous life after death.
Those embarrassing memories you were hoping to forget after you died? Still there!
As many memories that can be recovered have been preserved unless they would cause significant trauma to the soul.
Skills used in a previous life will be easier to learn and train.
Otherworlder
What in the world are you doing here?
Here's a little something to help you out in a brand-new world!
Grants the ability Gift of Tongues
Increased Learning Speed of Skills
Was my name traumatic? Is that it? Nope, I just went over this. I don’t care about that name, it doesn’t exist anymore. There are far more important things to focus on here…
First up Reincarnator. From the sounds of it, there are other memories I might have forgotten, though if anything, my knowledge of nukes shows if anything, it is not malicious. Because whatever force put me here didn’t care about the knowledge of splitting atoms causing widespread destruction.
…Though maybe it wouldn’t care if there is already something in this world that matches it. Mana is a thing, apparently, looking at my status. And if anything, from what I have read of fantasy stories is that high-level wizards can destroy cities on a whim. Maybe that’s the same here…
Ugh, another thing to put off thinking about for later.
At least I can apparently learn skills from my previous life faster, which would be cool. Though I don’t know how much of my first-aid skills will apply to a tree person.
Next Otherworlder. If there is anything else that can conclusively say this is not Earth, then that’s it. Again, it helps with the learning speed of skills. Doesn’t say how much it increases by, but I suppose I can compare it with any natives if I ever find them…
In regard to class and job, I can’t seem to do anything just yet, even if I try and click them, so I will just assume that I get them later.
The numbers definitely suggest that I am going to be a squishy wizard type, though I mean, look at how low my health is compared to my mana. However, I do hope that the average stats aren’t higher. It would be pretty shitty to find that the average starting stats are 10 or something.
What do the stats mean specifically, though? The system doesn’t seem to be helping me with it, so I will probably have to ask someone about it.
The fact that it seems to have everything physical on the left, including health and everything mental on the right relates to mana. it also implies that anything regarding mana is something I would be good at. Or at least have a good capacity for it.
Looking at the Blessings section, it expands into another screen containing two things.
Blessings
Blessing of Tessara:
The World is watching
Blessing of Tivoss:
The Watcher takes note
Wow, very helpful… What is that supposed to mean?! What do they do? Who are these people or gods or whatever? Fuming over the lack of helpful descriptions, I recall the first screen I received, which welcomed me to Tessara, which implies that to receive a blessing from it, the world is sentient.
I quickly look at the ground and eye it suspiciously for a moment before shrugging. Not much I can do about it after all. Though I would love to know what it means to have it’s blessing. Maybe it’s a welcome gift or something.
The other one, Tivoss, is a little more confusing. I haven’t done anything of note other than just existing. Maybe he took note of my reincarnation? I don’t know. Yet again, another thing to look up if I find civilisation.
