Chapter 2:

With a few pops of my lower vertebrae I sat up and stretched, the movement and sound finally also woke up Hua Hong who looked at me with half closed eyes.

“Good morning Young Master.”

She mumbled before leaning forward and putting her arms around me.

I was naturally startled about this sudden hug and watched her face change color in record time after her mind had caught up with what she was currently doing.

“I-I’m sorry Young Master, I was half asleep and-“

“It's fine, really, it's fine.”

Not minding the morning hug that I had suddenly gotten from her I waved the entire incident away and stood up.

Hua Hong’s face was slightly red and embarrassed as she stood up too and started to fix the bed.

“Come in.”

My uncle said with a tired voice and I quickly did as I was told.

There he stood, Li Kong, Clan Head of the mighty Flamedragon Clan and my mother’s brother.

The first thing that I noticed were the dark rings under his eyes.

They had been there before naturally, but ever since Li Jun woke up he had barely slept at all, throwing himself into his work.

I knew the reason why he did and it hurt my heart to see him like this.

“What did he say?”

Li Kong asked, directly getting to the point and reason behind this late night meeting.

Feeling a bit embarrassed when I thought back to my earlier conversation, I quickly elaborated and told my uncle nearly every single word that Li Jun had spoken.

The preexisting frown on Li Kong’s face only deepened the more he heard, as well as a look of puzzlement in his eyes.

“And that was everything Li Jun told me.”

I finished, giving a sheepish glance towards my uncle as he seemed to be deep in thought.

Finally, after what seemed to be minutes he looked into my eyes again.

“What he told you was very advanced knowledge about the relationship between men and women, some of it even I have never heard of in all my years but I still don’t get it.”

Clenching his fist, Qi started to congregate around it before he smashed it into his desk which instantly turned into a pile of firewood under this sudden assault.

“How can he know things like that but forget some of the most basic concepts and even his own father!?

Just what happened to my son…”

Li Kong mumbled the last part with a trace of sorrow in his voice.

All I could do was keep quiet as I watched the outburst of my dear and kind uncle.

The answer to his- no, both our questions could not be found right now but I would make sure to find out what it was that really happened ever since Li Jun attempted suicide…
