Prologue

You know. I have always wondered if there are other worlds out there. Would the people there be similar to us humans? Would there be magic? Demons to slaughter? Heroes? Hell would there even be gods and goddesses?

I coughed into my right hand and on it was blood.

“I see… so that’s how it turned out.”

Tears slowly formed and trickled down to my cheeks.

“Fuck. I was naive to take on this contract… Traitors. All of them.... I was a fool to even trust them.”

God dammit. I looked down to see my torso impaled by multiple melee objects.

I rested my head onto a wall where I was ‘slain’ and looked up to the ceiling.

“Humans are the same both in this world and in my old world. They will use other people as tools and simply discard once their usefulness is done.”

Unauthorized duplication: this tale has been taken without consent. Report sightings.

I wanted to slap myself in the face, but I could not muster the strength to do so.

“Hahaha… First I became ‘Public Enemy #1’ after surviving a three-year virtual reality death game and now I die a ‘Sinner’ “

I turned to my left to see the ‘Heroes’ group taking their war trophies. They are literally picking this demon castle clean. I shifted my attention to the Nazi and Imperial soldier. I saw that they had already picked the United States paratrooper clean of his firearms and ammunition. They left his clothing’s intact.

The two group were still busy doing their own things. I began to wonder if the other gamer successfully extracted the demon king’s daughter to safety.

I decided that now is the time to use that skill. I opened my mouth in one last effort to make my Final Stand.

“Override Safety Net Protocol. Activate user avatar as Weapon of Mass Destruction Beacon.”

The two groups stopped and looked at me shocked at what I had done. Wasting no time for retorts, both groups ran with whatever they were able to carry. A flash of blinding light enveloped them right as the super weapon detonated.

Right before I lost myself to the darkness, I heard an unfamiliar voice.

“It is not your time yet my dear ‘Chosen’.”
