ANDDDD they betrayed me. Well, they never trusted me to begin with so I don’t think it can be called a betrayal.
Mathra was smarter than I knew. He prepared everything from the moment he heard about my idea of creating a guild. He taught the beggars how to work, gave tools to the thieves and the street rats revered him. Lil’ shit also knew how to write and read.
He played me and I could do nothing.
One day he came to me, both Gam and Agara behind him and told me I was finished. Apparently, I was not, what was the word, noble enough to lead them. Too much of a dreg he said. What the fuck did he think we were? Seeing them with eyes full of pity made me want to puke.
Next thing I knew, I lost consciousness. When I woke up, I was on a shore covered with sand. Why they did so? I don’t know. They could have just banished me from the guild and be done with it but no, they had to take me away from the only place I ever knew in my life.
Bastards…
Still, I had bigger problems: how to survive far from a city. I knew how to beg, how to steal, how to pickpocket and finally, how to read but surviving in the wild? Never did, never wanted to.
With some luck, I would not die.

Turn out, it went well. Luck was on my side this time.
It took me five days and almost three near death experiences but I managed to walk all the way back to my starting point. I think Kasm told me about it, Island he called it. Some of the walk was on the sandy shore but most of it was on cliff edge and that’s why I almost died three time.
I did not spot any animal aside from strange friendly chicken. They followed me while I walked on the sand but lost interest when I neared the forest bordering the cliff.
Now I just had to make myself a home.
I built it in the forest, near a small pond of drinkable water I found while exploring. The water on the shore was disgusting while this one was acceptable.
I call this a home but with only one hand, I only managed to put some branches together to hide myself shall it rain. I Added moss on top of it and pushed dirt on the sides to protect myself from the wind, only leaving a small entrance.
It was small, disgusting, but it was home.
I put some leaves on the ground to make it less hard, While I explored the island it was not comfortable to sleep on the ground.
As I made my home the strange chicken appeared and decide to keep me company. I decided to call them raken. They were grey like rats yet looked like chicken so I mixed it and voila: raken.
Maybe it would not be that bad after all.

The dregs guild was having a difficult time.
The merchants they had deals with were not coming as much as before and Mathra ambitions were heavy on their stock of money and food.
Most of the beggars did not know where the boss was and obeyed Mathra because it was what Atrius wanted. Yet, they were whispering among themselves. When Atrius was here, everyone had enough to eat. Now thought? They had to, how did Mathra put it?, make some sacrifice.
Where Atrius made sure the guildmates were not taken advantage of, Mathra made it more interesting for the merchants and rich people, said it was to build support from them.
He insisted on going legal, as if they wanted to be here and be criminals. He was seen more and more by with adventurers and merchants, leaving Gam to deal with the guild problem and management.
Rumour was: Mathra was a reborn, a man reborn from another world with powers that would grow as he did.
Things were not going well
