Turael woke up in a medical bed, uncovered.
Still clothed, likely because they either hadn't stripped him yet, or figured they didn't need to given no external injuries.
Seeing Gustan to his side Turael asked "How long was I out?."
"A few minutes, Honestly you probably passed out because of the speed of your own movements." Gustan explained while tapping his head.
"After speeding up and stopping so abruptly, you had no stamina and smelt like you were about to pass out, the final push came from me accelerating you." Gustan continued.
"Hmm.. Did I manage the block correctly before passing out?"
"I recall that before passing out most of the force was put into your body, so while the weapon survived, though barely, you were rattled even without passing out." Gustan replied.
"Well I can't really expect to beat you as I am now." Turael mumbled looking forward inattentively
Gustan replied "Ya are thinking about tomorrow aren't Cha?"
"You can't exactly blame me for that, can you?"
"No, I can't say that I can, Though should ya get one it would more likely make yeh life harder than it already is, not that ya care about that."
"It being difficult doesn't mean a thing to me specifically because I have no reference for it, We have been over that topic a few times Gustan."
"Oi oi I thought we agreed to not philosophise with all that weird things ya mind coughs up." Gustan rebutted a little forcefully.
Turael sighed heavily before saying "Well, that said it is not like I don't feel pressure and stress over the revelation ceremony, it is rather important after all."
"Kid it ain't the end of ya life, it ain't tha beginning either, ya aren't going to have a problem if ya ain't chosen and it would be betta that way too."
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
Gustan replied quietly.
Turael closed his eyes.
The revelation was a once a lifetime event for the populations to see who would obtain unimaginable power and knowledge. it was more or less a life altering event for everybody, Turael had done research and study about this event far before it was going to happen.
Specifically he had done in depth research on the point of the whole event, being the granting of a "Soul"
The theory goes that people are born with two qualities their minds and their bodies, the body's health directly reinforced the mind's health and vice versa, but certain individuals had the potential for a third connection with the "soul" which was an immaterial mass that enabled the possessor to innately control mana and use specialised powers based on mana.
These people could also access the memories from previous possessors to gain extensive knowledge of their abilities, they could even learn skills their previous users had whether a skilled craftsman to a master swordsman.
Far more commonly people received fragments of memories, Between learning reflex actions from gifted warriors or practical knowledge from Craftsmen or researchers, really there was nothing that wasn't confirmed to have transferred at least once.
Theories never ended about where these fragments came from, One of the most commonly believed theories was that when people dreamt small parts of themselves were copied and left within the dream to be carried to another in revelation.
While the most common theory It didn't have any explanation of a "soul" aside from a complete copy of another person which still makes the question of mana, magic and multiple previous possessors of souls come into question.
Of course these questions would only be answered if someone could directly travel to the dreams and see what happens to the end of dreams.
Turael thanked Gustan for the training and headed over to the school to finish his basic education.
Of course, his mind was focused enough to perform all the required work, but he was still looking to the future with uncertainty, doubt and fear.
His revelation was coming, and he was unsure.
