Chapter 1: Making a fresh new start

Roan put down his pencil and look at his work, It was a beautiful sunset.

With its red strand, it spread its light warm whoever touches its line.

The image of the sunset was clearly reflected in the ocean.

As the sunset was about to vanish, it gave its last warmth to its adorer before its say its goodbye waving its line promising tomorrow of a new beginning.

Roan nodded in satisfaction as he caught the essence of what he want to convey to his drawing.

“A new Beginning huh” he mutter softly then scratch his head

Its been years since he was transmigrated in this world.

He was originally a painter, but due to low income, he was force to do side-jobs like drawing animated cartoons whose fans request for fan arts.

At first, he was reluctant to draw because he felt his skill was being dull just drawing those simple cartoon characters, he felt his inspiration was getting rusty just watching these anime.

But soon, he found out how wrong he was.

These cartoons weren’t just simple as animated drawing. They are like human beings,

they also show emotions,

they want struggle,

They give love,

And they potray friendship like family which give him warm.

Soon, he came to love these cartoons, and changed his way to drawing.

But before his plan became real, an accident happen.

He was waiting on the sidewalk waiting for the pedestrian sign to turn on.

He notice a little girl accidentally roll the ball unto the road.

He look sideway to warn the parent to guard his/her daughter but saw the mother seems busy and unable to pay attention to her daughter.

This tale has been unlawfully lifted from Royal Road; report any instances of this story if found elsewhere.

His time almost time when the little girl in slow motion run through the pedestrian lane.

As if moving subconsciously, he ran and push the little girl back

Slowly, his vision was covered with shadow.

Then that’s the last scene he remember.

-

“I cant believe I will meet Truck-kun one of these days” he laughs mockingly to himself but soon stop then sigh

He wondered if someone going to bury his body

He became an orphan since he was 18 years old since his grandmother died for old age and she is only his relative.

He doesn’t have parents since they both meet their earlier end when he was young.

So he doesn’t expect someone going to pick his body and bury it.

“Oh well, I can’t help it if I’m already dead. What’s the use of caring about it.”

While the was monologuing himself, he came to a stop

Wait a minute…How the **** I’m still able think?! He was shock to discover he can still think like normal person

“Wait-Am I in heaven or hell?” he tried to look around but all he can see was darkness.

He look at himself and shockstill when he realized he cant see his hand, or cant feel and sense it.

“But how?”

“Is this called transmigration?”

“I thought it will be instant teleport?”

“I knew those novels about transmigration are farfetched liars!”

“Then where am I?”

….

“How long will this end?”

….

“Anyone?”

….

“So boring…”

“Anyone will do…just talk to me….”

….

….

As if eternal has pass, Roan look at the darkness dully, he been watching the darkness like eternity, he want to close his eyes but he remember he doesn’t have those so an eternal stare match with the darkness commence.

He tried talking to it, but it won’t talk back. It’s okay, he can talk for both of them anyway.

He was tired, not physically but mentally.

He doesn’t even know how long his sanity can last.

He felt he was barely grasping it.

Trying to hold on to it.

He believe

He believe he will get out of these damn darkness.

Theres no way destiny was cruel to him to trap him in this “place”

He was praying

He almost prayed every saint, every God on the universe, even the devil wasn’t spared. He was even willing to sold his soul just to feel a little pain just to feel alive.

Awhile he was muttering to himself, a tiny strand of white line appear on his vision

When he saw it, he saw shock then he almost shout in joy

“Thank you! Whomever deity you are!”

Using his mind, he slowly try to approach the strand of white line, soon it became two then three.

Soon, his vision was flooding with white lines that he was almost blinded.

But he ignores it and just laugh and swam to the bright white light.

-

18 years later

“Roan!”

A woman with tan skin, base on her looks, she look like in her middle age. She was called Vanessa, her mother

“Coming!”

He close his notebook and stood up and stretch his whole body.

A fit young man, whose tan was the evidence of a daily dose of beach water with his sunny hair. He looks like a daily surfer who goes to the beach to surf but the truth was far from it.

He just like to paint the beach with a sunset on it. He can never get tired of watching it as it shows its beauty. He had been doing it since he was seven, and now he grew up, the tan was more deeply ingrained on his skin but he didn’t care.

He looks at the sea with a smile

“Ah…It’s nice to be alive”
