Valeros & Dragoons
Dragoons are humanoid dragons. They are just slightly weaker than dragons, with the only thing they lack is a dragon's size and girth, but in exchange, they are faster than dragons. They have the split tongue and slited eyes of the dragons. They also have strong and dexterous tails that keeps balance and shows emotion to make up for their less emotional facial expressions. Some of them have horns and wings, but most just have spines along their back to the top of their head.
The curse of Ferrous is a term coined by dragons and dragoons towards particularly troubling and violent members of their race. It is said that both of the great wars were caused by those afflicted with it’s curse. The curse is named after an infamous red dragon by the name of Ferrous. Ferrous was one of the ancient beings who were the first to rise from the world's mana. His lust for greed maddened him to the point that he started attacking other dragons for their horde, killing several of his kin before eventually he was brought down. Of course, he was not the only one who seemed to carry this curse, as many afflicted dragons were slain in the first war or later banished to lesser worlds.
Dragoons also seem to have the same afflictions but to a lesser extent. This is most pronounced in the second war, where generals and leaders with the curse of Ferrous would lead their armies to conquer the other worlds without any hesitation or consulting with superiors or strategists. In the modern day, those with the curse are either shanted or cast out entirely.
Valeros is an exception it is a world with a mana quality that is high almost everywhere in the world.
For the home of the dragoons who had a reputation for conquering civilizations, it’s quite ironic that their main export is crystallized sugar from the Nectarvine.
Dragoon called their children hatchlings even though they do not hatch from eggs. This is likely a saying carried from the dragons.
Dragoons do not inherit last names normally. Instead, they inherit last names depending on the element they exhibit, but if the parent have the same element, or if there’s only one child, then the children gets to choose.
They are also greedy like dragons, although not so incredibly greedy as the stories suggest; the stories and tells are more likely deprived of individuals with the curse of Ferrous.
They improved the mana quality of the mana they intake, but they will only have this ability if they were birth in high mana quality areas. Their physical and magical power also wanes if they aren’t born in a high-quality area. This is also the main reason that the dragoons lost the war, because their military might depend highly on the place where their soldiers originated from. So, they have a limit on how many true-blooded dragoons can be in their army.
Valeros, the planet of oases and sand with a purple sky. It has an ocean covering the third of the planet, but because cause of the magical winds of Valeros, vegetation only grows near oases and the sea.
Solaris was once a moderate settlement composed of the dragoon of fire and water; just a few decades ago, it is now the greatest and most prominent of the dragoonian cities. The reason for the city’s rise to prominence was the establishment of the first star gate on Valeros.
Magic:
The dragoons all have their own form of body enhancement, basically an affinited and more intense version of the cultivation technique of chi circulation.
Trade:
Nectarvine is a plant only found in Valeros’ dense forests; a curious plant that usually wraps itself around a sturdy object like a tree to hold up a giant pitcher filled with acid. Above the strange pitcher is a sight, even stranger still, a sack-like object with a small opening enough for a drop of the sweet nectar to dangle and solidify. The nectar of this plant is incredibly sweet with an undertone of the forest scent it originates, but not sickly sweet as to completely smother one’s taste like some of the alchemical products. To keep the nectar from crystalizing in the sack, it is warm as the nectar has a low melting point. The sugar will lure small critters and insects, who will try to eat the delectable nectar, but since the sack’s open is so tiny, the nectar will break off if any amount of force is applied to it. The drop of nectar will fall into the pitcher filled with clear, and the critter will be so consumed by greed that it will leap into the pitcher plant in pursuit of the nectar. After finishing the crystallized nectar, creatures would soon realize that it is stuck inside the pitcher and proceed to try and fail to climb out of its slippery walls. The acid in the pitcher is not a very potent one, often taking a whole day to dissolve a small rodent, but by then, the critter would already be dead because the plant was not seeking to utilize the physical vessel of its prey. The Nectarvine is a highly magical plant, and instead, the acid’s flesh-dissolving properties are not its main focus; the Nectarvine’s acid is a highly potent mana sponge able to relive a creature’s mana storage in minutes.

Thus, the Nectarvine was one of the first plants that the dragoon has domesticated. Not only because the majority of the dragoons have a sweet fang but it is because liquid nectarvine sugar was a key ingredient in their cuisine. The domesticated Nectarvine falls into two main types: one that was bred for the nectar and the other for the acid. The kinds that were bred for nectar have a smaller pitcher that can barely catch a small insect, let alone anything that would provide the nectarvine any mana, but the sack was enlarged from where in the wild it is only as big as the palm of a hatchling's hand, now it is as large as a head. Some variants that lived for a long time are said to be as big as a fully-grown dragoon. At some point in the domestication, the Nectarvine depend fully on the dragoons who take care of them, and they are only sustained by crystalized mana.
The other kind is the complete opposite of the previous one mentioned. The pitcher of the plant can be called a cauldron at this point, which is why it got its name, Cauldronvine. Even the other variants didn’t have the honor of having their name. Alchemists are exclusively the only buyers of this variant.
Dragoonians traditionally use Nectarvine’s nectar to glaze meats.
Dragonblood steel is a unique steel made by dragoonian smiths, although, despite the name, most dragonblood steel isn't infused with actual dragon blood. Most dragoonian warriors work with smiths in the creation of this steel, using their own blood instead of a dragon’s. The reason for this for many aspiring warriors is simple: Dragonblood steel has one unique property that many steel don’t: the strength and durability of the steel grows in power with the blood donor, but this has a limitation. The steel's strength depends on whether the wielder is the original blood donor. If the wielder is not the original owner of the blood, then it will only be at half-strength. It will also not increase in strength unless the owner of the blood channels mana into the steel. This is why most dragonblood steel is now uses the dragoonian’s own blood and dragon’s blood versions are now mostly reserved for trade purposes. The metal also gain an imbuement corresponding to the blood’s elements however for most metal it doesn’t do much than a caster cast that specific element as well as an standard-grade casting focus. Mythril is an expictol as it already enchances magic cast through it. It is further apmpifled at the cost of the mythril’s color being set.
The metal could be the rare adamantite or the common iron.
Dragons
Dragons aren’t gone and are common on Valeros, and they often interact with the true-blooded dragoons. They held ceremonies like The Council, where they met once every ten years, and The Court, which happens every fifty years.
In the old times the Council was a way for dragons to gather and plan for what was next for their race. Now, the Council serves as a way for a majority of dragons to meet and socialize. As on Valeros, only a few things could even challenge them
Dragons have four fingers, some lesser variants the cultivation world have three. However dragoons have five fingers and why become dragons they lose that extra finger, guess all that mass came to make two extra pinky fingers
Kobolds
Kobolds are hard-working humanoids that are, in a sense, just smaller dragoons, but they are far weaker than dragoons physically. Their scales are not as tough, and they can barely lift anything of note. However, they are as magically adapted as the dragoons, being the only other humanoid race capable of using draconic magic.
Like dragoons, they are born from the blood of the dragons, but unlike them. The Kobolds are born from younger dragons’ blood, unlike the dragoons, who are born from the eldest of dragons.
