This will soon be deleted. I realize a lot of what I've written may be pretty, but it's first draft stuff. Plot holes, off tangents, vague ideas, overbearing magic system, I can go on.
I've been trying to shape the story I had in my head to one that fits a particular mold. One that I thought would please myself, the people in my life, and the community at large. Let's be honest, LitRPG and wuxia dominate this site and you have to be really good to stand out. A lot of what I envisioned for Dragon's Legacy could never fit in a single book and I thought that I'd be able to update it and maybe make some change on the side. But then comes life, jobs, self-study, family...I've always had a hard time balancing all of those.
Originally, we'd be at the halfway point for the first volume. fuuuuuck that. The first book would be upwards of 400k words. I thought it best to split the first book, with the real globe-trotting beginning at the end of book 2.
I'm going to finish the first draft, which is only about 5-6 chapters more. I may put it on here, I may not. Then, I'll dive into making a better second draft without trying to be so experimental about it. More fae interactions, introducing Rael, Az, and Caldon better, making their motivations more clear, developing them through arcs, more small adventures...hopefully it turns out well, because the lackluster reaction on this draft proves that it's not jiving well. Lots of comments from people close to me about the NB protagonist, so going to try and figure that out.
Enjoying the story? Show your support by reading it on the official site.
Plus there's other projects I'm working on. A short (hah, i hope) murder mystery, programming projects, that one big fantasy story bouncing around my head, and learning to write scripts for comics/screen considering I have a very visual aspect to the stories I try to tell. Sometimes I feel too limited by the hours in a day and shittiness of my brain.
It may be asking a lot of the few people who bothered to read this, but can you tell me the things you liked about the story and what you didn't like? I can't seem to interact with people well enough to ask for their opinion or help. No person is an island, but I must be some sort of barren peninsula. Anyways yeah, please comment and let me know what you thought.
Thanks
