-Drake POV-
“Here the fangs you requested. Now its your turn to fulfill your end of the bargain” Drake said to the mage guildmaster.
“Of course I always keep my promise. So what is it you wish to learn.”
“I would like to know a way to either increase the amount of mana i have.”
“Training would be the best way but if you want to get more mana as fast as possible there is a ingredient that will do just that. Unfortunetly this ingredient comes from an extremely rare monster. The monster in question is also extremely powerful. Fortunetly for you there are certain artifacts that has your desired effect.”
“Which would be easier to get?”
“They are both extremely hard to find. I have a book here that stats all the artifacts and monster I know of that can boost your maximum mana. You can keep it think of it as thanks for your help. Now if you will excuse me I’m a very busy person.”
After giving Drake the book she stood up and left before he had the chance to further question her. Drake left the guild while flipping through the book he had just obtained when a announcement was suddenly made by the same messenger
who announced the when the tournament started.
“The second round of the preliminaries is delayed participants who are participating in it please wait for any further announcement on the new date of the preliminaries. Please keep in my mind that this might take a few days.”
After the announcement the participants started complaining about the delay. To Drake however it was a good thing since he would now have more time since the tournament is delayed he can try increasing his mana before his match at the real tournament.
Drake went to the library and spent the rest of his time playing by simply reading the book he had obtained. After which he logged off.
-The Next Day-
-Cynthia POV-
It was a normal Monday morning as Cynthia walked up to her school front gate.
David suddenly walks up to her which was odd since he usually only approaches her during break and lunch time at school. He had a huge smile on his face. Cynthia was unsure what he was so happy since he had a huge smile on his face.
“Cynthia do you know about the tournament being held in celebration for driving the demons away?”
“Yes I recall seeing something about that at the forum.” She replied.
“Are you still in that kingdom you started in?”
“Yes, I decided to learn how to cook so my current class is a chef. I’m working in a restaurant at that kingdom for now.” She quickly lied since she suspected he wanted her to go there if she was close by.
“Oh I see” he seemed somewhat disappointed. “I will see you later at lunch then” he said before leaving for class.
-After school-
The rest of the day flew by like any other with no notable events except for the fact that most of the guys in class were talking about the tournament. Someone posted a video of it on the forum and unfortunately for her she was the main topic of discussion. She was really glad everyone thought the examiner in the video is a NPC.
She eventually reached home and after her normal everyday routine logged in.
The cat and the dog like pet was sitting at the spot she logged off and seemed happy to see her as they leaped up onto her shoulder like they did the day before. She decided to call the Cat Byakko and the dog Fenrir.
After checking the forum a little bit more the night before she found out that there were many classes other than shaman that could obtain pets capable of combat. There were also special items capable of changing a pet capable of transforming. Certain classes like summoners or elemental masters use their mana to create their own monster to fight for them.
This got her thinking. She remembered how David arm could transform to a dragon like arm due to the contract between them. The contract supplied him with a little bit of her power. She thought maybe it was possible to somehow permanently infuse some of her mana into Byakko and Fenrir allowing them to fight as well. The reason she wanted to do so was because she seem to run into situations where she has to fight battles where she would be unable to protect them. If they could somehow fend off enemy attacks by themselves she had nothing to worry about.

She went into a nearby forest to make sure she won’t be spotted trying to do what she was about to do. First and foremost she and to learn how to release her mana in its pure form unaltered to prevent any possible injuries. After some trial and error she finally heard the much wanted sound of a skill being learned.
Mana Control
-Allows you to release your mana in its purest form.
She was happy things were progressing smoothly so far. The next step is the risky part since she was worried something might go wrong. She used partial form on her head before deciding to attempt the technique on a wild monster in the area before attempting it on Fenrir and Byakko in fear of somehow injuring them in the process. She walked a little bit further into the forest before encountering a wolf poised to attack her. She activated partial form on her legs then procedded to use dragon speed to close the distance between her and the wolf. She hit the wolf as lightly as possible to make it faint and not kill it in the process.
She placed her hand on the wolves head and proceeded to activate mana control on it. She tried to infuse some of her mana with the wolf body. After a while she learned a new skill
Mana Infusion
-Allows you to inject pure mana into any living thing of your choosing
-This skill will give the living thing a skill called transformation.
-The skill transformation effect varies between living thing it was used on
When the skill was created she was overjoyed since the skill was pretty much telling her that what she is attempting was possible. She stopped infusing her mana into the wolf since the skill didn't say any negative effect on the living thing if she used the skill on it. She placed one hand on Fenrir head and the other on Byakko and activated mana infusion on them. It took a while but the message she waited for finally appeared.
Your pet fenrir gained the skill
-Transformation
Your pet Byakko gained the skill
-Transformation
Now all she needed to do was test what the skill actually did. She asked both of her pets to use the skill they had just obtained.
In nearly an instant both of them grew in size. Byakko looked more like a white tiger than a cat now. Ice was also protruding out of byakko shoulder and hind legs. Every time it breathed out it look like water vapor was coming out similar to how we breathe out in winter just more dense. Fenrir however looked like a wolf. It had blue flames coming out from its back. Fenrir 4 paws were also covered in the same blue flame.
Cynthia was delighted with the results as she hugged both of them. She now had a peace of mind that no matter how intense a fight was she wouldn’t have to worry about the welfare of her pets since they could protect themselves. They both transformed back and leaped onto her shoulder.
She was just about to continue moving forwards when suddenly a portal opened up right in front of her. The demon king stood in front of the entrance of the portal that was just opened . He quickly reached out his hands and put his hand on her head. Normally she could have easily dodged it but she was caught off guard. She suddenly felt like she was losing conscious. She fainted. He dragged her into the portal causing her pets to lose balance and fall off her shoulders due to him suddenly pulling her body forwards. The portal closed leaving Fenrir and Byakko behind. The sound of his insane laughter could still be heard despite the fact the portal had already been closed.
