"King of Dragons N! Your reign ends now! I, the Hero Aleid will make you pay for your sins!" A man with long blonde hair and blue eyes stood in front of a humungous green dragon without an ounce of fear in his eyes.
The man had armour made of materials so beautiful that they would have been the most expensive jewellery around, and it was so durable that it put every other armour to shame. He had a large sword made of a golden metal which glowed with the yellowish-gold aura which was emanating from the man.
The dragon roared, and the Hero took this as a sign to attack.
However, N, the Dragon King, was trying to talk to him, "What did I ever do? I simply lived my life as a dragon, albeit a bit stronger than the rest. I even stopped my kind from attacking you, I know a few slipped through the cracks over the years but do I really deserve this?"
Unlike what the Hero and the rest of humanity though, N was not an evil dragon. Despite being the strongest of his kind, this was simply due to his unique adaptability which had helped him overcome his issues. Not once had he attempted to hurt a human, there was just no way for him to tell them he was not evil.
N was not evil, but he also didn't want to die, so he was forced to attack in self-defence. He swiped his claws at the Hero, but something strange happened. His claws became duller, and his arm began to shrink.
The Hero stood and laughed, "You've met your match N, I can nullify any ability with my aura and that includes your adaptability."
N realised what was happening, his body was reverting to what it would have been if he hadn't ever had his adaptability, in other words, he was becoming a regular dragon.
It was the first time in a long time that he had felt fear, and N knew that he would likely die without a chance to fight back.
The Hero swung his large sword, a crescent-shaped energy with the same colour as his aura shot out, and despite his wings trying to take him away, N could not evade it.
His wings were chopped clean off, and blood spurted from the stumps where they once had been. Injured and without a way to escape, N lay down in defeat, not seeing any chance of survival.
The Hero approached him, walking slowly as he knew there was no chance that the defeated creature could harm him. He lifted his sword into the air and swung it down, the most powerful vertical slash ever released tore through both the ground and N's body, and he felt his consciousness fading.
Despite what he had thought would happen after death, N did not see either one of his predictions. First of all, it wasn't all black and he wasn't alone. Second, he wasn't in the afterlife with his fellow dragons. Instead, he was in an area unlike anything he had ever seen, with large grey buildings around, and a massive tower in front of him.
He also noticed that he wasn't in his body, instead, he had returned to the form that he had when he was born. He had become an egg once more. He had two cracks where he saw through, and two holes in the bottom of the egg for his legs to come out of.

*Permanent Adaptation Added: Egg's Hope*
He wanted to explore, to discover where he was and how he had come to be born again there, but he had no time. He didn't even have time to look at the adaptation which he had immediately gained.
A human who was behind him noticed his presence and one shouted at him, "What in God's name are you? How did a monster get out of the Tower, and a monster I've never even heard of at that? Roger, come have a look at this." He motioned to his friend to come look, and both of them readied their guns, although N had no idea what they were.
N knew that if the weapons were even of decent quality they could hurt him, so he looked around for a way out. There was only one way that he could see which he could potentially go for safety.
The large portal which was in front of the tower.
With his little legs sticking out of the egg he was in, N waddled as fast as he could and jumped forward into the portal right as a bullet was fired from one of the men's guns.
"That thing got away if it comes back out shoot it on sight."
The portal that N had jumped into was actually the entrance to the Tower which he had seen that stretched into the sky.
It had appeared years ago and ever since then, the entire world had been based around the mysterious building for one reason. Humans who climbed the tower were able to gain powers, unlike anything humanity had experienced before.
Through the portal, N noticed that the area he was in seemed more like his old world than the area outside of the portal.
The area looked like a forest, with large trees dotted around. It looked artificial, the spacing between each tree was too similar and they all looked eerily identical.
This wasn't the main thing that N saw though, as he spotted some strange creatures crawling around on the floor. They looked similar to caterpillars which were in his original world, but they were much larger and were a dark purple colour with yellow accents dotted around. They looked fuzzy, but on closer inspection, they had thin spines which seemed to be a defence mechanism.
N hadn't been seen yet and decided to check his status to see if he still had it in this world, and what state he was in.

Egg's Hope: 50% Experience Buff
Average, the same status as he had when he was an egg for the first time, except this time he had the knowledge of an ancient dragon. Every dragon egg has an experience buff, but only N could keep it forever thanks to his adaptations.
The first thing he would need to do if he wanted to survive was to evolve into a baby dragon instead of an egg.
As an egg, there was only one way for a dragon to level up and evolve, consuming the material within the egg to gain experience.
He could move his face somewhat, and he opened his jaws and grabbed onto a fleshy material within the egg, ripping it off and swallowing it.
*Level Up*
*Permanent Adaptation Added: Flesh Eater*
He continued eating the membrane and he had to turn his head a little bit to consume more that wasn't directly in front of him.

Level Up*
He could feel his body getting larger with every level, and one of his arms was able to reach out of the egg by breaking through the thick shell wall.
With his arm free, he was able to reach back inside the shell and rip the membrane from behind him to make sure he could eat it as easily as possible.

*Level Up*
Now having reached level five, N was able to push his head and other arm free from the shell and begin to rip himself out of it.
*Species Changed From Dragon Egg To Baby Dragon*
N had finally, after about half an hour, freed himself from his shell. His body was like that of most baby dragons, he had green scales and quite a small body, about as large as a cat. His teeth were not particularly sharp, nor were his claws, but this would change with time.
Knowing that he was in an unfamiliar place and would need to get stronger to survive, he planned on killing any of the caterpillars he came across, as well as trying to find out what was going on and where he was.
