The Endless Pack of Hondour’s rounded the corner.
“Brace Yourself” I shouted “Endure!”
The Gible next to me roared in defiance, type energy flaring and sinking in.
I placed my hands on the ground, Aura flaring, as I blew a point on sturdy feet.
“Thin them out, dragon breath!”
Gible curled into himself, purple energy pooled and sparked.
“Graaaah!” A blinding purple stream of misty energy expanded into the path of the incoming horde.
“If, No, When we get through this” I panted, adrenaline flooding me. “I dont ever want to see another mongrel again!”
And with the haunting yaps and barks that had hunted us for days, they reached us.
****
Gible lashed out, purple energy flaring as he scratched, bit and pulverized.
My aura flared each time I punched or kicked, pups flying left and right.
“One! Two!” I grunted “One Two OneTwo OneTwoOneTwo”
Yelps and barks from behind us. They were curling around.
“Nope!”
I grappled the next dog as it entered my reach.
“Hah!” I flared my aura through my entire body, turning and throwing it, knocking the sneaking beasts aside like bowling pins.
“Graaah!” Gibble was covered, but that was fine. A moment later, he used a Superpower and with a burst of energy, the offending pups were thrown clear.
“Charge Beam” I yelled, kicking another mut to the side.

Gible heard my call and jumped into my arms.
I blew through 3 points in an Infuse, pumping aura and power into Gible
“Graaaah!!” Gible opened his mouth wide, and blinding white light poured forth.
I spun in a circle, clearing the area around us.
The energy struck the hondours, sending them scattering.
The smell of ozone and burnt hair filled the air.
Smoke and dust was rising, limiting visibility.
I whispered in Gibles ear, and a moment later, the air cleared and we were gone.
.Yips and yowls screamed through the air. The hondours sense of smell completely obscured in the chaos.
Heavy footsteps, and a deep deep growl. A sharp yip, and the horde left in a stampede.
Minutes passed, the clearing empty of sound.
When normal humdrum of forest noises resumed, the ground quaked for a moment, and an exhausted human and gible pulled themselves from a hole in the ground.
“Nope” I rasped “We are getting out of here, I dont care what it takes”
I mentally clawed around my head, looking for invisible levers, and something clicked.
