Chapter 2: The Two Dragon Sisters

Chapter 2: The Two Dragon Sisters

On the following day, Sarlon discovered that the other two dragon eggs were slowly hatching. The black dragon mother, Lysa, emerged from the depths of the cave, looking at Sarlon with a hint of surprise; they grow up so fast!

The two newly hatched black dragonlings announced their arrival to the world, each proclaiming their true dragon names with pride.

"Emilia Tristana Langvald..."

"Hanna Tristana Langvald..."

Sarlon peered at the two little female dragons. About two and a half meters in length, they sported tiny horns, floppy wings, and were covered in a repulsive mucus that, to Sarlon, somehow smelled even more delightful.

Lysa's mood seemed to lift when both younglings called out their true dragon names. Birthing three true dragons at once must surely be a contribution to the dragon race, she thought, and the great Dragon Mother Tiamat would surely grant her entrance into her divine realm for this.

With that thought, Lysa snorted contentedly and retreated into the cave to caress her treasure.

Once Lysa left, Sarlon approached the two little dragon sisters, who were still nibbling on their eggshells, indifferent to his presence.

Sarlon, with no hesitation, snatched some of the eggshell fragments from his sisters, preparing materials for a later feast.

A juvenile roar filled the air - sibling affection was not a concept dragons held dear.

Emilia looked up at her considerably larger brother with deep resentment. How dare he steal what was hers?

Sarlon pressed Emilia's head to the ground with a casual swipe of his claw, making her eat dirt as he picked up the largest piece of eggshell.

"There, there, let your big brother taste the delicacy," Sarlon cooed in Draconic.

Emilia tried to resist, but despite all her might, she couldn't lift her head from under Sarlon's claw; her hind legs kicked furiously against the ground.

She raged, "Despicable brute! How dare you treat the future great black dragon queen this way!"

But all Emilia got was a mouthful of dirt. She pondered why there was such a vast difference between her and Sarlon, who was only born a day earlier. Sarlon knew well that even though his health seemed to have only increased by twenty points from his feast, health encompassed size, defense, strength, among other attributes - far beyond what these two hatchlings could match.

It's like comparing a young tiger to an adult housecat; they're not even in the same league.

Hanna, witnessing the scene, hurriedly gathered her own eggshells and started to devour them frantically. Sarlon noticed this and had to intervene; he released Emilia and nudged Hanna aside, picking the largest piece of her eggshell for himself. Fairness between the two sisters was a must!

Given Sarlon's recent actions, Hanna didn't resist; she let Sarlon take the eggshell and leave. After the confrontation, Emilia too did not make any sudden moves but angrily munched on the leftover eggshells.

Sarlon placed the eggshells alongside the carcass from earlier and lay down next to it, silently waiting for the feast to begin. During this time, he also began to sort through his vast draconic heritage memories, which included various Draconic spells, as well as the names and habits of different magical beasts.

Sarlon had not bullied his sisters out of spite; he needed to establish his position as the big brother, which would ensure his dominance when it came to food distribution from their mother. Everything was for the sake of the feast!

Yet, he did show some restraint by not taking all the eggshells; otherwise, he wouldn't be able to get past his mother Lysa. The eggshells contained special substances that were essential for rapidly hardening the scales and bones on the surface of a newly born whelp's body. Without them, the process would take at least a fortnight.

The sisters quickly finished their share of the eggshells and then eyed the decaying beast carcass, drooling with hunger. Emilia eventually couldn't resist her instincts and edged closer to the carcass, while Hanna observed Sarlon's reaction.

Seeing Emilia tackle the carcass like a puppy and then get tossed aside by Sarlon, Hanna looked at him with a mix of fear and hope for a share.

"Do you think Mother would care about such trivialities?" Sarlon was unfazed by Emilia's threats.

Upon hearing this, Emilia fell silent. Among their kind, familial affection was known to be thin, and their mother, Lysa, was unlikely to intervene in such matters.

Sarlon felt a twinge of guilt, perhaps he had been too harsh. He glanced towards the depths of the cave, where a low growl echoed.

So, Sarlon tore off two chunks of flesh, which should be enough for his sisters. If that wasn't enough, they could resort to eating dirt. Dragons have powerful stomachs capable of digesting a wide range of materials, including soil.

"This is in exchange for the eggshells!" Sarlon declared as he tossed the meat to them before closing his eyes to rest again.

Despite still feeling some resentment, the two young dragon sisters had no choice but to accept their lot.

"Cursed be the day, when I grow bigger, I'll make sure to teach Sarlon a lesson!" Emilia thought furiously as she bit into the meat as if it were Sarlon himself.

Hanna, on the other hand, ate while casting occasional glances at her big brother.

Sarlon continued to ponder over the 'Feast' ability, having been interrupted earlier. He realized that 'Feast' might not be limited to consuming flesh. The desire he felt for his mother Lysa's treasure was not born from a dragon's possessive nature but an authentic hunger; the fragrances emanating from the treasures were proof of that.

It seems that while 'Feast' may not offer the raw damage it used to, it had acquired other attributes. Considering the lore, Cho'Gath could enhance himself by devouring any matter in the realm of Runeterra.

Games are just games, after all, and they differ greatly from reality.

A day later, the moment for 'Feast' finally arrived for Sarlon.

That familiar sensation of hunger coursed through his body as he opened his eyes. He pounced on the carcass of the beast, feasting heartily, using the eggshell remnants as a sort of seasoning.

The progress of his 'Feast' grew incrementally; 19%, 20%...

Emilia and Hanna watched with longing as Sarlon devoured the meal like a ravenous wolf. After the beast's flesh was all consumed, Sarlon's progression in the 'Feast' was stuck at 90%, and he felt hungrier than before.

He turned to look at his two little sisters.

Instinctively, Emilia and Hanna shrank back, their mouths emitting threatening growls as Sarlon's gaze fell upon them – he seemed terrifying to them in that moment.

Sarlon fought hard to ignore the enticing scent coming from his sisters.

Then, Sarlon turned his attention to the bones of the magical beast, starting to pick up the brittle bones and ribs to consume.

Crunch, crunch—

"How can Sarlon's teeth be so strong? Those are the bones of a Greater Horned Beast!" Hanna watched in astonishment as Sarlon crunched away effortlessly.

Such bones would surely defy the jaws of the young dragons; they could digest them, but if they couldn't bite through, swallowing was impossible.

Yet there Sarlon was, seemingly having no trouble at all as he gnawed on the bones. For Cho'Gath, the Terror of the Void, nothing was more vital than a strong set of teeth, and it was the teeth that benefitted the most with each 'Feast'.

Finally, the progress of the 'Feast' reached one hundred percent!
