Age 732
"I'm retiring"
The entire central square was immediately silenced albeit a few gasps managed to escape.
King Vegeta's mind began to work rapidly.
'It was just a year ago these freaks of nature noticed our fighting capabilities and consequently forced us to become their hired thugs, surely he can't be letting us go so soon?'
Hope and anticipation flashed in the eyes of some Saiyans in the capital square, although they enjoyed the fighting, something about doing another's dirty work left a bad taste in their mouths.
"I am going to handover leadership over our vast and powerful Cold Empire to..."
King Cold lifted his right arm, slowly moving it, pointing to his successor.
"My youngest son Freiza."
'Fuck!'
King Vegeta couldn't help but curse watching the scene before him, he once again glared at the two beings in front of him - seemingly born from his nightmares.
King Cold was a frighteningly tall, muscular man. Two grey horns protruded out of his white head while a large green gem sat where his forehead should be. He had bright pink skin and three foul toes. In sharp contrast to his father, Freiza was shorter than King Vegeta, being exactly like his father in head structure and the disgusting lack of toes. His skin was a darker shade of purple and both he and his father were wearing the latest edition of battle armour - blue and black colours respectively.
King Vegeta couldn't help but shiver and under Freiza's hateful gaze, he was more than aware of what he thought of his race, but he maintained his cold and aloof composure.
"In celebration of my miraculous rise to power, I have a present for you," Freiza said with a wicked smirk.
King Vegeta nearly fainted, his heart began pumping blood at faster rates, his body entering fight or flight mode. Many Saiyans in the surrounding area had similar responses if they said they weren't tired of this tyrant they would be lying, some almost wanting to die in combat than continue to live under the Frost Demons.
"Relax, I'm not going to kill any of you .... yet," Freiza said almost high on their fear.
Freiza waved his hands and several of his goons who were guarding his spaceship went inside the 40-foot ship carrying multiple large boxes. King Vegeta couldn't help but reflect on the current circumstances, 'We Saiyans as many as we are, are completely helpless against two Frost Demons', he hands subconsciously forming a fist, his face hiding his dissatisfaction.
The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.
Freiza saw this happen and his smirk intensified, he knew he was hurting the pride of King Vegeta and he was loving every second of it.
"Battle Scouters, capable of detecting any lifeform with a power level over one million in a 3-mile radius, as my arms and legs in the universe, I can't have you go under-equipped can I? Only the best for my monkeys!" Freiza said chuckling to himself, King Cold behind him adopting a similar smirk.
King Vegeta trembled, completely oblivious to the insult, 'Th-Three Miles? Our current Scouters can only reach 500 metres! If he wears one th-then', King Vegeta was visibly shaken, noticing this Freiza's smile vanished - an even scarier sight for the Saiyans in the Capital.
Freiza raised his hand and a scouter from one of the boxes being transferred to the Saiyans by his goons floated towards him, many of the Saiyans in the audience witnessing Freiza's telekinesis for the first time marvelled at the sight.
Frieza's action confirmed King Vegeta's suspicion and he wallowed in despair, panic resonating deep in his soul.
Equipping the Scouter Freiza said, "3542, 2187, 1983, 2145, 6435, 7546, 8762 and 9283"
Only King Vegeta knew what he was doing.
Freiza raised a finger and eight ki blasts flew in different directions.
Multiple Saiyans in the Capital Square exclaimed, some openly questioning Freiza, others shouting curses.
BOOM!!!!!!
ARGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!
Multiple explosions and screams filled the Capital Square taking the vast majority of people by surprise, smoke wafted from the tops of destroyed buildings.
"Snipers King Vegeta, really?"
King Vegeta's eyes were firmly locked on the ground, he didn't dare receive Freiza's gaze, not after the stunt he just pulled.
"And to use Monkeys with such low power levels, well I suppose they wouldn't have been much use to me anyway HO-HO-HO-HO-HO!!!" Freiza began laughing wildly eventually clutching his sides and rolling on the floor.
Seeing such blatant disregard for Saiyan life, many Saiyans in the environment began feeling righteous indignation, unbeknownst to them, mysterious energy started to circulate in the bodies, slowly building in both pressure and size but then they saw their King, their leader and the most powerful among them stare firmly at the floor instead of standing up for his dead subjects.
The mysterious energy started to dissipate and a thick aura enveloped them.
Despair.
"Listen up you filthy Monkeys! From today onward I am your King! Not this lowly halfwit but me, You shall all obey my commands if you dare not too well... HO-HO-HO-HO-HO!!!" Freiza couldn't even finish his sentence, bursting into laughter. The thought of these low-class warriors even resisting him was deeply amusing to him. Little did they know he didn't even need the Scouter to detect the Saiyans on the rooftops.
A weak and low murmur began to grow among the crowd, "Yes Lord Freiza."
King Cold nodded approvingly before turning his back and walking towards his spaceship. Other miscellaneous races fled from his path before following him back into his ship.
Freiza eventually composed himself before following his father as he was about to enter his ship he released his aura causing many of the ships attendants to collapse.
King Vegeta for the first time in years pissed himself.
Not even looking at the Saiyans, Freiza simply said "Know your place" and departed into the ship which promptly flew away, the pilot not daring to delay after the previous events.
Hours later the Capital of Vegeta Country managed to regain life and various races moved on with their lives, the previous scene deeply ingrained in their minds.
King Vegeta fled to his palace and refused to come out for several days, only after being consoled and "rejuvenated" by his wife did he find his courage to move on.
'Despite my attack on his life, he still left me alive, Yes, he needs us Saiyans, the show today was just an intimidation tactic, Yes! It all makes sense!'
King Vegeta's delusion intensified.
