Chapter 26
Not far behind the goblins, a stunning beauty entered the tower for her interview.
Long legs, only half covered by the ruffled hem of a white summer dress, a seductive and perfectly-shaped body, moon-bright skin, a flawless and charming face, and gorgeous white-gold hair that fanned out behind her as she walked.
It was a veela.
Draco's whole focus was immediately on her.
With veelas it was hard to tell their age, because they mostly retained their youthful beauty for their whole lives, but there were always some indicators.
Her nice wide hips suggested that she had given birth to at least one child.
There was a confidence and self-assurance about her that spoke of life experience.
So did the tiny laugh lines around her lovely mouth and pretty blue eyes.
But the depth of her eyes, the weight of her gaze, was the indicator that gave Draco the greatest hint that she was really mature, and had already seen and survived a lot of things.
If he had to guess, he would say she was twice the age of his mother and aunt, so still around forty years younger than Draco's own spiritual age.
Draco couldn't help but stare at the veela appreciatively, from top to bottom, and back again.
Ted's jaw dropped and he stared too, when he first saw her, but only for a second.
Andromeda didn't even have to cuff him in the side, Ted managed to shake off the veela's allure all by himself with a swiftness only men in love could achieve.
Andromeda was impressed and very proud of him, she reminded herself to reward him tonight and show her appreciation.
The veela's magical allure didn't even faze Draco with his impeccable occlumency, but he still couldn't keep his eyes off her.
She was just so fucking beautiful, that his blood couldn't help but pump hard.
And for the first time, since he had arrived back in time, Draco wholly realized what it meant to be in his teenage body again.
With his experienced and controlled mind, he hadn't even noticed anything until now.

He had just thought his liveliness came from the fact that he was so overjoyed about leaving his apocalyptic time, coming to the past, and having the chance to change the bleak future, that he hadn't even thought to look deeper.
It should've been obvious that he would have to wrestle with puberty again, but the realization hadn't really hit him until now.
Narcissa disapprovingly cleared her throat.
Draco pulled himself together and manged to get his hormone-filled mind under control again to greet the beauty appropriately.
With captivating grace, the veela sat down after Draco had invited her to.
Then she opened her sweet mouth, „Hello, my name is Monova, Petia Monova, daughter of Peninah Monova."
Her voice was like honey.
„Welcome." Draco gave her a rare, absolutely genuine smile. „Please tell us about yourself."
„I'm from Bulgaria. In my youth my mother taught me enchanting and over the years I have used it as needed time and again when money was tight. But most of the time, the men in my life were more than happy to support my free lifestyle." Petia shared openly.
„Then why do you want to lower yourself and work here now?" Andromeda asked pointedly.
Andromeda and Narcissa naturally didn't have the best impression of this beautiful veela.
Narcissa would have asked a biting question too, but it would've been a bit too pretentious even for her, since she herself lived an even more lavish and comfortable life than Petia.
„My granddaughter is the only one from my family I have left... Not long ago, she married a little Scottish lord. After their marriage, I too moved into the little Lord's manor to be with her, but I'm not really comfortable there. I want to move out, but I also want to stay in Scotland, close to my granddaughter, that's why I need a regular income." Petia explained.
„Why don't you just seduce some rich old wizards and let them finance you?" Narcissa asked curiously, but with a scathing undertone.
„I don't want to wholly depend on some random men in a country where I don't have any connections. That can end very badly, very quickly, especially for a veela." Petia said truthfully.
Narcissa and Andromeda couldn't help but nod reluctantly in understanding.
Wanting to move on, Draco spoke up. „Did you visit a wizarding school? Do you have a wand?"
In most countries, veelas, just like every other being besides wizards and witches, weren't allowed to use wands, and subsequently didn't visit wizarding schools.
Wizards placed great importance on maintaining exclusive control of magic wands, but there were a few exceptions in most places, mainly concerning werewolves and vampires, especially those who had been wizards before they were turned, and the beautiful veelas, whose beauty could sometimes open all kinds of doors.
Centaurs, goblins and house elves however, if they dared to touch a wand, all Dementors would be let loose, so to say.
Especially goblins, wizards had been doing everything in their power since the inception of wands to keep wands out of the goblins' greedy fingers, even letting them take control of the banking business in the wizarding world, at least in the European wizarding world.
„No, I never had the privilege of visiting magic school, but I inherited the wand from my late mother, and I have successfully completed a test in the Bulgarian Ministry equivalent to your O.L.W.s." Petia confessed outright.
If Petia really got hired in the end, as Draco hoped, Draco had to remember to remind Ted to check the British Ministry of Magic's laws, if her Bulgarian test certificate was enough to allow her to use a wand in Magical Britain, or if she needed to do another test here.
Unsurprisingly, Draco and Ted gave Petia a pass for her preliminary interview, but even Andromeda and Narcissa seemed only to argue out of principle, having gained a positive expression of the mature and charming veela, who was so refreshingly direct.
