Prelude | Prologue: A broken rhythm

The signs were there. The year long drought that riddled the earth dry, and cracked. The sudden, and violent earthquakes that shook the foundation of buildings. But all were blinded by the joy of rain. Then that joy turned to horror when the rain didn't stop. Scientists were all trying to find the source, then it all went black.

----------------------------------------

The world had a rhythm: It was the drizzle that came from the sky. The drops splashing against the surface of the newly formed lake, sending ripples out. The gale roared as it rushed through the trees. But, no sound of wildlife could be found, making this natural symphony. . . unnatural.

The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.

In the sky the conditions were just met for a piece of hail the size of a pea to be formed. The piece fell, and fell, till. . .

*Thunk*

That soft sound of hail meeting flesh broke the symphony of the world, the peace crumbled alongside it, carrying the same effect of a missed-played note in an orchestra.

The already ruined symphony was ruined again by a splash, then another, they were frantic, carrying panic. The symphony was now unfixable. The cause was from a human floating in the lake, who was finally conscious after getting hit by a hail the size of a pea. The very same human was panicking, and splashing after realizing they were not on solid land. Due to the human, something else was just woken up from its forced slumber.

The story has begun, and it can not be stopped.
