Catch me if you can

----------------------------------------

The high pitched shrill followed by the sound of wood crashing startled the kids, who jumped up and ran back into the living area. K.O stepped up to the window and peeked out. What he saw made his eye widen.

Families were gathered out along the road, watching in horror as orcs rampaged their homes. They definitely were searching for them.

"Oh shit." K.O gasped out, then moved to the side of the window out of view. He stared over at the others who were staring at him in concern. "Uh, we got a problem. A big problem."

Belle was the first to run to the window and look out. She ended up gasping and ducking down when an orc stomped by it. She then turned to glare at Rockie.

"This is why I said what I did earlier. Actions have consequences." She seethed quietly.

"What do we do now? We can't take on a whole army." Maya screeched and yanked at her pigtails, worriedly looking to the older teens.

K.O and Belle looked to one another all out of options, before Belle jolted as she came up with an idea.

"There is a small opening in the closet. We can sneak out through there and head back avoiding any contact." Belle stated.

K.O lifted his eyebrow at Belle. "Sure it'll be that easy?"

"It will be if everyone follows along. What other choice do we have?" Belle snapped throwing a look at the blonde.

The others slowly were hesitant but nodded in agreement.

"Can you uncuff me now?" Rockie grumbled to Maya.

She huffed, then stepped behind the boy and placed a palm over the cufflinks. They started to crystallize back into those bright particles before being absorbed into her hand.

The group quietly rushed back into the room. Belle ran to the closet and crawled inside. She reached to the back of the closet and wedged the wood away from the wall revealing a hole. She poked her head outside to see if they were clear. Seeing that they were, she crawled out then glued herself to the wall of the house.

"Alright, it's clear." She whispered into the hole.

Maya crawled through next, followed by K.O. Rockie went to squat, but then paused to look up at Drew. "You wanna go first?"

"No. I will sit this one out. You need worry more for yourselves at this point." Drew said, then gave Rockie a soft smile. "It is not the first time we have gone through this, nor will it be the last."

Rockie's mouth turned tight, and he gave a stiff nod.

Rockie suddenly stretched his right arm up towards Drew with his fist balled tight.

The boy stared at it in confusion then looked at Rockie.

Rockie smiled, "Go head. Pound it."

Drew cautiously balled his fist and brought his arm over until their fists were connected.

"I'm glad I met you, Drew." Rockie said sincerely.

Drew's lips quirked into a smile. "I'm glad I met you too, Rockie."

K.O grinded his teeth as he grew agitated.

"What's taking that idiot so long?" He growled under his breath to the girls standing next to him. They all stood along the back of the house, trying to not be seen.

"I don't know, but he needs to come on." Maya mumbled with a growl. There was no second to waste.

"Please no! He didn't mean it I swear it!" The group jumped when they heard the cry of a woman.

The crew poked their heads around the corner a tad bit to see what was happening.

A woman was lying along the dirt, trying her best to shield a young boy's body, who was huddled underneath her. His scared eyes quivered up at R'gug who towered over them.

"Please," the woman continued to plead. "He just wanted his bear."

R'gug fisted his hands. In one hand was a long thin, black blade and in the other carried a brown, dingy teddy bear with a missing leg.

The other residents watched the scene, grabbing a hold of their loved ones tight out of fear.

The woman's eyes waivered, then she bowed her forehead onto the dirt.

"Forgive him, but that bear was a gift from his mother. Please forgive him." The woman cried.

Slight murmurs of 'forgive him please' were echoed from the crowd.

R'gug sneered down at them, then let out a snarl before tossing the bear down before them.

Once it landed, the woman lifted her head and looked to the orc in gratitude. "Bless you, my leader."

There was movement from the house they were at as a man slowly made his way towards the woman and child.

"You." R'gug called to the man causing him to stop in his tracks. "You man of house?"

"Y-yes, my leader." The man anxiously answered then bowed over. When he stood straight, R'gug was before him piercing the blade through the man's stomach.

The woman screamed, followed by cries from the crowd as blood spurted out the man's back.

R'gug held the man's shoulder then whispered into his ear. "You should learn to teach your house respect." He pushed the man down leaving him to bleed out along the ground.

The woman and child rushed to cry over the dying man.

R'gug turned to direct his attention to the rest. "This be the only warning you peasants get. Anyone that show disrespect will be killed on sight. My brothers, keep searching until you find something. Someone here knows something." R'gug ordered and the orcs resumed breaking into the houses and tossing people out onto the road.

"Let's hurry. There is nothing we can do for them." Belle urged, having already torn her eyes away from the scene to see if the back was clear. She couldn't allow emotions to slow her down now.

There was yet another scream as a girl was thrown out of the house next to them. She fell to the ground with an angry orc stomping after her. It snorted angry demands before standing over her, then lifted its leg up proceeding to stomp on her.

Hurried footfalls drew Belle and Maya to look over and watch as K.O darted over towards the orc, then jumped to karate kick it in the face.

The orc toppled over with a grunt.

Thud

Everyone froze in shock and stared at the teen with blonde hair now standing tall.

"DUDE! WHAT THE FUCK." Maya screeched as her face turned as red as her hair.

"Sorry. It's fucking reflex." K.O gritted back.

Rockie chose that moment to poke his head out from the hole and smirked up at Maya. "What I miss?"

Everything after happened almost instantly. The orc on the ground lurched up for K.O with a wet snarl.

K.O spun on his leg, whipping around to kick the orc across the face again.

R'gug let out a roar. The surrounding orcs armed themselves and ran for the boy.

K.O reached down to pull the girl off of the ground and pushed her far behind him. He then looked left and right at the oncoming orcs.

"Oh shit." Rockie cursed, then hurried out of the hole and ran towards the action.

Maya released a frustrated squeal, quickly trying to rack her brain for a next move before she too ran to help, ignoring Belle's cries for them to come back. As she ran, she outstretched her hand and summoned Dustin.

Going with the flow, Maya swung the gavel at the first orc she approached knocking it away.

The orc flew across to the other side, soaring pass R'gug to tumble into the wall of a house. People ran out of the way screaming in distress to avoid being hit.

R'gug eyed the newcomers with a frown.

K.O was trading kicks between two orcs who had him surrounded. Another one saw an opening and ran for the distracted teen.

Seeing that, Rockie dashed towards it. He jumped and locked his arms around its neck then chokeslammed the orc to the ground. After, he punched it in the throat so that the orc could stay down.

An orc wielding an axe stomped towards Rockie and slashed it, aiming for his face.

Rockie bent down to avoid the axe, then punched it in the crotch.

The orc wheezed, giving Rockie time to jump up and strike it in the stomach. The orc flew back and collided with two others running up.

An unexpected punch sent Rockie skipping along the dirt. Rockie lifted up and looked over to see what had hit him and noticed R'gug watching him intently.

The orc reached down to help the orc Rockie first hit to its feet, then raised its blade up, pointing it in Rockie's direction.

Rockie grinned getting to his feet and lifted his arm. Electric were drawn to his palm as he summoned a lightning bolt. "Now let's play."

R'gug's eyes widened.

Rockie dashed toward R'gug and they both swung their weapons. Rockie had good reflex, however R'gug was a skilled soldier so his trained strikes put Rockie on the defense. The boy ended up taking more hits than he could throw.

Rockie was elbowed in the chest and skidded backwards. He then eyed R'gug and grinned. He stretched out both of his arms. Electricity instantly started sparking along his skin, drafting in from the humid atmosphere to coil around him.

However, that was as far as R'gug would allow when he abruptly chucked his blade at Rockie. The kid quickly leaned to the side to avoid the sharp weapon but was too slow when R'gug kicked him in the face. The strike sent Rockie flipping back to his stomach, and before he could get up, a giant foot stepped down on his head.

"Stay down." R'gug growled out.

K.O grunted, sending another orc crashing off. Three orcs started reigning in from his right.

He thrust his arm and a gust of wind blasted them away. The ground abruptly started to tremor and K.O turned back and saw a giant orc tromping down the way towards the scene. The beast's head was small covered by a tight metal helmet.

"Not another one." K.O groaned, then thrust his palms out. "Pacious pain" a white sigil popped up in front of him and a strong current blew from it.

What normally did the trick had no effect on the orc steady gunning his way.

The huge orc jumped up, then slammed down causing a hard tremor to rock everyone around off balance. It then started banging its hands against the ground and strong shock waves raced out knocking off any in the way.

K.O moved out of the way, but then noticed a family about to be hit by the waves. He rushed to the group and shoved them out of the way taking the hit when it reached them. He flew back fast and crashed into a house. Hard.

Boom

Maya was whacking orcs left and right, sending them flying off randomly. Maya reared her gavel back attempting to swing at another one, but when she went to move, she found she was unable to. Looking back, she noticed a big, rusted blade in the shape of a hook grappling the gavels head. Holding the sword was a smirking Aadhis.

"Hello," the orc purred, then stuck her leg out and struck Maya in the back.

The girl let go of Dustin as she was sent propelling forward. She crashed into the wall of a house and bounced to the ground.

Maya let out a wheezing cough and grabbed onto her back in pain, then looked over at Aadhis who now had Dustin in her claws. Maya frowned at the new orc.

"Lucky for you," Aadhis stated eying the gavel in her hand, then she tossed Dustin at Maya, which skittered along the ground. "I fight fair."

Maya slowly stood to her feet, grabbing Dustin's handle as she went with her eyes glued on Aadhis. The blade she held was covered with jagged ridges, meant to cut into the victim at any turn, even inside of the curve.

She would have to be very careful.

"Well?" Aadhis said in an after you tone.

Maya flexed her fingers, then took off for the orc.

Belle slowly crept out and looked at the commotion. This was bad.

She saw a young child about to be striked down by an orc and summoned a bubble to rush out and bump it away. Belle hurried to the child to help them up.

Aadhis punched Maya along her jawline, making her stumble, then looked over. She squinted her eyes at Belle, and they slowly widened when she realized who the girl was.

"Well, if it isn't the one that got away." She yelled with a smile.

Belle froze at hearing Aadhis voice and turned to see her smiling at her.

"You are foolish for coming back." Aadhis continued.

Maya regained herself and saw an opening then went for it.

"Ahhh," Maya screamed and ran for Aadhis, but the orc maneuvered out of the way so fast that Aadhis was suddenly behind her with the crook of her sword against Maya's throat.

"You see her?" Aadhis whispered into the girl's ear drawing a little blood. "Years ago, we burned her family at stake and your fate is same."

Moving her sword, Aadhis shoved Maya forward.

Maya stumbled, then righted herself to continue going at the orc. Sadly, she missed the other orc coming up behind her before it sunk its dagger deep into her side.

Belle's eyes grew wide. "NO!"

Maya gasped as she grasped her side falling to the ground.

Aadhis frowned angrily, then stepped up to the orc and knocked it down. She then stomped its face in. Blood gushed out as its face was squashed.

Everyone paused.

"Hold weapons." R'gug shouted to the rest. They weren't ordered to kill them.

Aadhis bent down to the girl on the ground desperately trying to hold her bleeding wound. Aadhis lifted the girl's shirt to inspect deep gash. She then scooped up a handful of dirt and packed it to stop the bleeding.

Maya screamed when the grains burned into her flesh.

R'gug looked at the other defeated doves with a stern face. "I would advise you give up unless you want to die now."

The doves had no other choice but to give up. This was a fight they weren't going to win.

"Gather them up and take them in." R'gug ordered out and the orcs went to follow.

Elsewhere…

Iilane took this time to sneak out. With all of the orcs busy attaining to the doves, she marched to the entrance gates to slip out. Plan accomplished.

... Brain break ...

Meh.
