CHAPTER 36- RYAN NGUYEN'S WOMAN
The couple watched the little boy walk upstairs, the man was furious but his wife knew how to calm him
down. Giving him a hug like a spoilt kid she looked up at him, "Hubby, please forgive him. You know
your son... He is just like you. He will be safe and even if he is not my mighty hubby is there to protect
him, right."
The man loved his wife more than anything and seeing her acting spoilt and calling him mighty was
enough to melt his iced heart. He huffed off his anger and wrapped an arm around her; pulling her
closer he looked up at the young boy's disappearing image, "I better keep an eye on this lad, he is up
to something."
He was his father and has lived twenty years more than the boy did; even though the boy didn't say
anything clearly at the end of the day he was his son and it was not that hard for him to guess what
was going on in his mind. He too has crossed this stage and age; developing friendship and engaging
in peer activities was really common at this age yet it was a matter of surprise for the man- was his son
capable of this social interaction, wasn't he cold and kept a safe distance from everything.
Back up in the room the boy changed into his pajamas and headed to the bed; he spent the whole day
with her nevertheless, he started to miss her already. Staring at the ceiling he thought about the time
when she slipped into a slumber; she looked really breathtaking.
Her features turned as calm as a river in summer forest; her berthings were stable and peaceful. When
she was sleeping with her eyes closed the boy took notice of her eyelashes, those were neither too
long nor too short yet were very eye-catching.
She was even beautiful and serene while sleeping; the boy couldn't help but wonder how can someone
not fall for her. She was a real beauty- both inside out.
Kids like her were normed to be innocent and naive; they easily believed in everything and every single
word. Maybe that is why people say never make fake promises to kids, such pure hearts don't deserve
to be disappointed.
Inside the bubble of sympathy and harmony, everyone sees the beautiful side of this world as these
little kids do. Cheerful and happy, life would be really good to them as long as they are protected by the
people who love them. But it won't be very late when they will finally see the reality... The ugly side of
the world. A kind of place which knows no compassion, which has got nothing but lies and
disappointments. The meaning of life would flip upside down withering away all the innocence and
carelessness in people.
Ryan thought back of the time when he was last naive; he received the slap of truth when he was of
her age, the day when he saw his father backstabbed by one of his own men fighting for his life in the
blood reeked bed of hospitals
Life had been harsh on the young boy but he didn't want her to face the kind of things he went through.
She was a soul worth all the love and cherishing possible on Earth. He wanted to keep her naive and
silly forever, he would make sure she only sees joy and wonder in life. He would keep her hidden in his
arms making sure that no one has the guts to even think about hurting his woman.
'His woman'... 'My woman' the thought flashed in his mind making his cold expressions blush up
without a warning. "Dear..." The boy looked at the ceiling and started, "You won't ever regret being my,
Ryan Nguyen's, woman."
Given the fact that it was Monday and the boys had their private tutors coming over to give them
lessons, the two couldn't make time to visit the girl that day. Ryan was particularly absent-minded and Contentt bel0ngs to N0ve/lDrâ/ma.O(r)g!
kept on straying off his chores thinking about her. What was she up to? Was she waiting for them?
She would be really disappointed if she was expecting them; the thought of sadness clouding on her
face worsened the boy's mood. After when his lessons were finally done the Young Master hurried to
his room to get dressed. It was already 4 of the evening but the boy couldn't think about anything
anymore; even though he won't have time to play with her he would, at least, meet her.
The two boys rode their low-key car to the girl's house. When the car entered their premises Ryan's
sharp gaze didn't take too long to spot the girl. She was in her garden, chasing the ducks.
Ryan asked the chauffeur to stop at the gate and the two boys got off the car. The two stood hidden
behind a post to observe what was going on. The girl was happily running around alone while the
housekeeper was playing with her phone.
The original housekeeper was Mrs. Jude, a woman closing her later 50. She was the one who even
raised her father, but unfortunately at her ailing age, the old woman caught up with some health issues
that she had to go back to the village to cure herself and replacing her came her daughter.
Even though this woman who only around 20 or so resembled her mother none of her actions did. She
would only cook meals and do the chores in the house; taking care of Catherine was something she
didn't bother herself with.
Right in front of her Catherine tripped, seeing her fall Ryan got scared but the one who fell and the one
watching her was not bothered at all. The woman kept on playing with and smiling at her phone while
Catherine stood up on her own and without even dusting herself started chasing the ducks again.
Ryan's blood started to boil seeing how careless the housekeeper was about his woman, this fool will
hurt herself and all she would do is playoff with her phone. The boy's face froze like a block of ice as he
made his way to the garden.
"How's everything in here?" Jack spoke out gaining everyone's attention. The housekeeper threw a
glance at them and when she recognized who it was she stood up at once and greeted them politely,
"Young Master Ryan! Mr. Jack..."
Catherine picked on the commotion behind her and turned around, seeing that it was her best friend
her face bloomed like a moon as she placed towards them. Ryan opened his arms and let the girl hug
him, "Big brother, you are here. I missed you..."
