I spent a couple of days just getting the lay of the land, I need to know my new home with some degree of familiarity- gotta be ready to have an escape plan in the worst case scenario or be aware if I’ve got anything to be wary of (such as anyone who might call the cops) in the area. There was a hell of a lot of forested area though so I wasn’t too worried that anyone other than some very determined hikers would come across my little area… and even if they did they’d probably assume I was a wendigo or something anyway.
Speaking of creepy things… This area is eerie, I mean I like nature and seeing real trees is still novel to me but during the night when it gets dark I’m half expecting something to pop out from behind a bush. So I reckon I’ll build a little log cabin, I could continue bunking under the canopies but I kind of want an actual place where I can store things and build a real bed. Turns out building a log cabin is a bit harder than I thought however. I can certainly cut them with ease and moving them around is not a problem… but the wood is damp, I didn’t make a good enough foundation and there are too many gaps that allow air to flow through.
So I tried again… and again… and again. Eventually I figured out stripping the logs of bark would be a smart idea, this helped with lowering the dampness but didn’t do jack shit to plug the gaps I’d always be left with. My next major discovery was actually finding a nearby cave, I’d expanded it and actually punched a few holes in the stone to place the logs in- this helped stabilize the cabin as I connected them both… though it looked butt-ugly with a cave that now looked like it has wooden walls jutting from the entrance.
Ugly or not, I continued my work. I got into a rhythm while working, making discoveries as I continued and implementing them the best I could, I didn’t need to eat or drink, I didn’t get tired and after my little trip I didn’t need to sleep unless I felt like it… this made it so when I focused on something… there really wasn’t much to bring my attention away from it. The time slipped away from me as I continued building and creating, the original creation had been torn down and rebuilt multiple times. I wasn’t looking for perfection but I did want something that actually resembled a house.
Technically I’d achieved my goal already but I didn’t see any reason to stop, the few breaks I’d taken saw me going on long treks to nearby cities or towns. I’d spent some time learning the language by stealing some books or scavenging some magazines- not anywhere near perfect mind you, but I could probably get across simple stuff like hello or directions to the closest bathroom… maybe. I didn’t have anyone to talk with and check, just billboards and TV’s in shop windows. I did achieve my main goal however! This was why I continued building without much care. I’d spotted someone from the main story! The bunny lady or whatever her name was, she looked like a highschool or college student (Hard to tell her age but she was wearing a uniform).

So for now I was in the clear… oh yeah and I was near Hiroshima. But I figured that since I had time I may as well continue making my house (turns out I like making things, who woulda guessed?) and I even started making something rather… familiar. In front of me now was an old bike, an old tablet and a few meters worth of copper and other assorted wires (all from the tip). Yes that's right, I was gonna make my frankenstein tablet once again!
A little bit of fiddling and a spoonful of luck and voila! Welcome back you beautiful pile of crap! I didn’t have an internet connection, the parts would need upgrades and the pedals were too small for my legs… but I didn’t care! It just feels good to have something that I’m familiar with again! I made sure to carefully stow it in a box (yeah I have boxes now) and remind myself to keep an eye out for potential parts I could use for it later.
Now that I’ve got some weight off my shoulders and some time to learn the language… How am I gonna get into UA? I wanna join when the main cast does but I’m unsure how feasible that’d be… I mean I think I may actually be technically younger than them… but I’m Doomsday and I could pass for someone in their 20’s. And that’s with my face being covered! If I wanna pull this off I’m gonna have to be close to someone from the main story… someone who wouldn’t judge me based on looks and who wouldn’t freak out at my possibly higher than average intelligence (for my stated age).
Nezu maybe? Maybe I could say I’m in a similar position to him? I could pass myself off as a crocodile with the adaptation quirk and just say I ended up here? But then again he is a 5d chess sort of person and would probably figure out the truth (most of it) relatively quickly… that and I have no freaking clue how to find or contact him. Scrapped! What about All Might? He’d be easier to find but is also gonna have that fateful clash with all for one and end up semi-crippled. He's a good guy but I don’t wanna mess with the plot too much…Yet.
Endeavor is an asshole, several of the heroes I knew were too young currently… I think there was a centipede and an Orca looking hero? They might be old enough and they seemed nice but again… where the hell are they? I also have to come up with a suitable background to tell them, if I just say I’m from Australia they might send me back… yeah screw that.
I continued my little plotting session unaware of the red eyes watching me from afar. I wasn’t talking out loud but I was flailing my arms around in clear frustration from time to time. So it was a surprise for my stalker that when they tried to get closer to me I whipped my head around and immediately noticed them. “Bunny lady?”
